The real shocker is this was done in one take and there was no such thing as autotune. That was just pure talent.

The tall bass player, Chaz Chandler, was also the guy who discovered an unknown guitarist in New York, took him to England and put together and managed a three-piece band around the guy. The band was called The Jimi Hendrix Experience. They were pretty good.

Eric Burdon is one of the most underrated singers imo. This song is most definitely a classic but if you research his back story I think you will appreciate this even more. He had a horrible childhood and the fact that he survived and went on to become a legend is beyond belief. Just so awful… but he came out on the other side. ❤️Great reaction guys! Love it! Other songs to check out are Don’t Let Me be Misunderstood and We Got To Get Out of This Place.

Been a metalhead my whole life, but I still say this is the greatest song ever recorded. Makes the hair on my arms stand up every time

The Animals were part of the so-called British Invasion of the mid - to late - 60s. Bands and acts like The Beatles (arguably the biggest of the bands), the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Animals, The Zombies, Herman's Hermits, Gerry and The Pacemakers, and more almost too numerous to mention. They were all either comprised of war babies or boomers, playing to the young and upcoming boomer generation (born from '46 to '64). Some of the best pop/rock music ever made.

In late 1800’s there was a district in New Orleans called Storyville where prostitution was not illegal and they had ‘sporting houses’ which had liquor, gambling and vice. The ‘house’ of the rising sun was one of those!

"I got one foot on the platform/The other on the train." along with "wear the ball and chain" could easily be about losing a battle with an addiction. He knows it bad and doesn't want to, but he can't escape. There's a version of this song on KZread where the artists goes into Amazing Grace while keeping the melody of "House". It turns the song into a story of sin and redemption.

A total classic. They recorded this in just one take. This has been covered numerous times as well.

The house of the Rising Sun is believed to have been a New Orleans bordello. The song dates way back, with the earliest known recording, under the title "Rising Sun Blues", being released by Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Forster in 1933. The Animals discovered the song via Bob Dylan's version on his first album.

And if you were young in the 60's you'd still have the 70's and 80's to look forward to! So glad I grew up in that era; best there's ever been musically.

Backing percussion in the jazz style. Keyboards in the psychodelic style. Blues guitar, and blues vocals. The Animals were something else, man. A total package.

Hanging my head in shame because this is actually the first time I've seen this video! This is such an iconic song and he's got such a distinctive voice. The instrumentals is very reminiscent of The Doors. And like you, Hollywood, after listening to this kind of music, I feel I should've been born in the 50s so I could've enjoyed coming of age when this genre of music and classic rock'n roll was hitting its stride. Keep on rockin' fellas! 🙂❤

What a voice Eric Burdon had. Just legendary. Interesting side note the basis Chaz Chandler became hendrix's manager and was the one that really championed his early career
