here's some facts about Slipknot they're a band out of Iowa, they have 9 members, they are identified by their numbers along with their names Original members lead vocalist is #8 Corey Taylor (considered a top metal vocalist of all time, his melodies are awesome) Guitarist #4 Jim Root Guitarist #7 Mick Tomson Bassist #2 Paul Gray (passed away) Drummer #1 Joey Jordison (left band in 2014) Percussionist #3 Chris Fehn (left band in 2019) Percussionist/vocals #6 Clown DJ #0 Sid Wilson sampler/keys #5 Craig Jones new members Bassist, V-Man Drummer Jay Weinberg Percussionist New guy, aka tortilla man they wear mask to hide identity anti-celebrity type of thing,, they change their mask after every new album (New chapter) they are known for putting up some of the best concerts in the planet Corey Taylor also has another band called Stone sour their fanbase are called Maggots

The masks are more for expression and they've said they need the discomfort to help produce the energy they have on stage. Corey sang for Stone Sour before and throughout all the time he's been in Slipknot so his identity wasn't unknown at all. Jim Root was also in Stone Sour. Other members tried to stay somewhat anonymous at first, but that didn't last too long. All of them have done interviews with their masks off, except Craig. The only time I can think of where he purposely appeared without the mask was the press conference right after Paul's death. Tortilla man is Michael Pfaff, although that's still yet to be officially confirmed by the band.

Corey is technically not the original lead singer. In fact Corey was in the crowd as a fan at Slipknot's first show. The original was Anders Colsefni.

I like the download version it's just that you can't hear sid's scratching as clear
4:53 side note: Corey Taylor actually has a 5+ octave vocal range. he’s truly mind blowing
it's a 9 point star representing all the 9 members of the band (lead singer, drummer, 2 other percussionists, bassist, 2 guitarists, keyboard, and DJ)

The live version is cool if they want to see what a live Slipknot show is like, but a terrible presentation of the song because it's hard to hear Corey clearly and I think hearing Corey rap using the album version might be more of what they'd like to hear. Just a suggestion though, in case they are reading.

I absolutely enjoyed this reaction. The band isn't satanic. They initially wore the masks so people would focus on the music. Corey Taylor is also the lead singer of Stone Sour. A completely different kind of band. Would love to see you do Corey Taylor "Snuff" live in London. Also Slipknots "Duality" and "Vermillion 2."
I think you guys would love "Spit It Out" and "Wait And Bleed" by Slipknot
If you want a really good Slipknot song I recommend Snuff. Either the full version as Slipknot or the Acoustic version with just Corey. I recommend the former before the latter, though. It really puts just how good of a singer Corey is if you hear the Slipknot version before his version.

Yeah back in 1999 at a place called Harpo's in Detroit that was the first time I had jumped the f****** ip
You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say "All we hear is screaming, but that takes talent" So many people just pass it off as noise, but it really does take a lot of skill to sing the harsh growled vocals without fucking up your voice. I myself am a death metal vocalist and trained for years to learn to sing death metal vocals without needing to buy shares in a throat lozenge company.
Can you do Gojira? They’re one of the best newer metal bands out there. “Stranded” is a good start

Woo!! This is a great way to start your slipknot journey! The lead singer is Corey Taylor and he is a god!
The "pentagram" of fire in the video is the so called "Iowa star" Wich is a symbol of the band
At a loose end across the pond tonight so thought I'd revisit your first Slipknot reaction. Bloody hell, how far have you come since this. Fully fledged maggots now and no mistake. Can I suggest Not Long For This World. Amazing song.
Great reaction!!! We want more slipknot!!!!!
If you’re doing more Slipknot I recommend Nero Forte to start. It’s off their newest album and I think you guys would really enjoy it. I don’t recommend snuff until much later because it’s not like any of their other songs and is not a good representation of the band even though it’s a great song.

"Dead Memories" and "Vermillion" are the ones I'd toss into the hat since plenty of people have already suggested Snuff.
I got to meet these guys waaaaaaaaay back in '99 during the Ozzfest tour. They were incredibly kind and gracious and went a long way toward making a good day great.
Had to watch this reaction too...from then and your reaction now to slipknot..big difference!
The 9 point start is for the nine members of the band. The Masks also change about every album Nero forte is worth watching.
Duality is a good song to start with when hearing slipknot for the first time
Always so cool to see people first listening to this band and getting pleasantly surprised by coreys melodic vocal ability
Lol this is some funny shit hearing y'all's thoughts on Slipknot a year ago compared to today. Love it!
6:03 - Nonagram. 9 sides. Represents the 9 members of the band.
One of the best live bands around they bring and have so much energy and give everything. They have a lot of heavy songs but also melodic songs. But next you should watch Spit it out live at download festival 2009. You definitely won't be disappointed!
Love how the moment Corey's vocals came in, it grabbed these guys by the throat and it was just silent attention/appreciation. Good reaction guys 👏🏽 New sub from me.
You guys are awesome, I got alot of my rapper friends into metal and they also got me hooked onto hip hop
Solway Firth, Duality, The Blister Exists, The Negative One, Custer are good songs to get into them.

Corey Taylor(lead singer) doing Wicked Game(Chris Issak) is amazing!! Duality is another awesome Slipknot.
You guys are officially one of favorite reaction channels!
im glad i found yalls channel. Love seeing people acctually give metal a try, most people assume its 'satanic' and 'all screaming'
being rap artists, check out their first big hit, "Wait and Bleed". As with in TOOL, (but in a very different way, obviously),very few songs are filler. really good throughout. Pantera as well.
I think to REALLY appreciate Coreys vocal range you need to go from Slipknot to Stone Sour. The kind of control he has to have not just destroyed his vocal chords doing the Slipknot growl-hollering and can still sing BEAUTIFULLY (as most evident in Stone Sour), he’s a talented and regimented singer.
Some new to the channel and I watched nero forte first now I'm here. Clearly they won you over!
It's the nine point star. A point for each member of Slipknot. God bless you guys, and keep up the good work.
MUDVAYNE WORLD SO COLD!
Please react to Pantera-yesterday don’t mean sh*t (live ozzfest 2000)
I've seen them live twice and they killed it both times!
I’ve seen Slipknot in concert over 10 times. Amazing live show
Slipknot originally was classified as Nu Metal but over the years the kind of carved there own nitch genre so really can't categorize them either they can go from heavy to ballads never know what Slipknot you will get... Great upload
Btw Tech N9ne has some rock songs.... not just rap songs with rock stars in it but actual hard songs. My fav is Love 2 Dislike Me
Been great to see all your reactions so far. For slipknot you should do the 2 songs Vermillion and Vermillion pt 2 in the same reaction video to get an awesome juxtaposition.
Amazing band live , seen them 6 times . Got my head split wide open in the front row when a guy hit me with a lump of wood . Blood passing down my head 2 hrs later still playing and jumping about in the front . Nothing stops us from seeing slipknot 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Clown was playing the snare during the breakdown. Those masks evolve every album. Do Nero Forte off their new one

Giving good feedback and thoughtful commentary...10 out of 10, will sub. Thanks for being open minded. I would react to 'Spit it out' (for an older song) or 'Critical Darling', 'Nero Forte' or 'A Liars Funeral' (for a newer song).

Rly love ur reactions and appreciate how ppl who come from a hip hop background can still appreciate rock music. Slipknot is a rly good band even if their new stuff had degraded from their first 2 albums which are amazing. And I promise u that the more u listen to metal the more u will appreciate the rly heavy stuff were it's a lot of screaming. As far as bands u should listen to I would highly recommend Opeth over almost every other band u have reacted to except tool. Ghost of Perdition is a good one to start out with and is what turned me onto them just don't let the beggining turn u off. Keep up tool Tuesdays

Try “Sulfer” slipknots best tune in my opinion.
I can confirm. Slipknot concerts are awesome
Pantera -Domination live in Moscow. Best breakdown ever. You wouldn't be shocked about Corey's melodies if you heard Stone Sour, his other band.
One band you two would like is In This Moment, especially their songs Adrenalize, Blood, Whore, and The Fighter. The lead singer, Maria Brink, has crazy vocal range.
If u want to react to more Slipknot I would recommend Only One off of their first album. It's a song a lot of ppl don't know since it wasn't a hit but since u guys r rappers u would definitely like it.
Subbed for all the rock music 👌
You got too experience this song live!! Its an amazing feeling and intense show! 🙂🤘🤘🤘
The really low, growling stuff that doesnt seem to fit into the song like Cannibal Corpse and the like isnt really for me either. I love my metal, but that just sounds like noise to me. With that being said, metal is something you kinda ease yourself into. If you are coming from other genres the intensity and growling is definitely not something you are used to. Start with Nu Metal like Slipknot , and i would also recommend listening to the older stuff Like Dio, Metalica, Megadeath, and a lot of others. The best thing you can do for metal though is watching lyric videos. You would be surprised at how clear everything starts becoming.
Noice! Slipknot - Nero Forte + Unsainted
You guys are awesome
Subbed based on your reactions and actual discussions of this and Jinjer, putting in my vote for you guys to do Spit it Out at Download 2009 as well

Can't wait to watch your Slipknot journey...Check out Stonesour "Gone Sovereign"...Corey is the lead singer in that group, as well.

Hey guys, really enjoying the videos! Ive been watching a lot of vocal coach reaction videos to metal and they stop lots and talk about the singing (which is great) but i'm really enjoying just the reaction of listening to the songs! A popular "gateway" song to heavy metal is Killswitch engaged - end of heartache. It has the heavy vocals and clean. Also A fun song would be Dream evil - Book of heavy metal. Cheesey heavy metal kind of anthem song. Rock on!
MUST hear more Slipknot
You should definitely react to Disasterpieces live in London. Every live show they do has so much energy and gets you pumped. You WON'T be disappointed!
