Didn't expect to see Satyricon on here! "Now, Diabolical" is another banger from this album

I think this genre is simply 'accessible black metal'

Satyricon's early material was definitely Black Metal. Their latter work is a genre called Black and Roll, due to the rock and roll feel. You all need, need, need, to check out their tune Black crow on a Tombstone. F I R E

Black Crow live is nuts. Whole bunch of 50 years olds and 15 year olds moshing together, just one of those timeless songs

They should do the Official video.
I always loved their groovy punchy songs. Satyicon never really settled into a genre very well they always kind of shifted around. The Pentagram burns is one of my personal favs.

Early Satyricon sounded very different, or more black metal. Then they shifted to a more Venom sound and I think it was genius.

idk, it's more like pop-rock.
one of blackmetal ogs. satyricon is an amazing band that keep shifting their style from pure black metal to industrial and trash and even experimental. mother north is a classic by them. also yes, check out black crow on a tombstone.
Drummer Frost is probably among top 10 best metal drummers. Great tunes, love this song. Ravenous hunger and Blacklava are also great songs by them
Friggin awesome seeing Satyricon pop up on the channel boys! And this is my fave by them too, so doubley stoked... thank you Christian for the request!
Dudes, they DID open for Pantera, i think when Satyricon were touring the 'Rebel Extravaganza' album. Phil Anselmo also did a Black Metal side project with Satyr called Eibon.
My favorite band. Mother North, Diabolical Now, Black Crow on a Tombstone, The Pentagram Burns, Fuel for Hatred, Your Brethren in the Dark, and so many more are fantastic.
I remember first hating on this song when it came out first because it did not sound like Satyricon at all. And two listens later I'm still headbanging and singing along to this day. 😄
One of my favorite Satyricon songs. I'm pretty sure they open for Pantera in the late 90's . Also Joey Jordison from Slipknot filled in on drums for a tour in 2004.
At last some Satyricon. You have to tty Black Crow On A Tombstone.. Then commando, then the wolfpack.. Cheers bros

All incredible songs.
alot of these norwegian black metal bands changed their sound from traditional, to other genres. Like Mortiis, Kovenant, Emperor...even MayheM
Joey Jordison played Drums for Satyricon live once...and he had contact with Dani Filth, so clearly a fan of black metal! Im suprised no ones suggested Emperor, since ppl love them so much...i prefer Mayhem
LOVE Satyricon. They are one black metal group that can blow Cradle of Filth off the stage, which I witnessed at one show in Houston a few years back….try to react to “Fuel For Hatred”, “Black Crow on a Tombstone”, “The Sign of the Trident 🔱 “….so many good ones 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

@@ngillette80 I remember seeing him playing at the Engine Room with them in Houston back in 2004…the whole crowd went apeshit when we all realized that it’s Slipknot’s JOEY FUCKIN JORDISON on drums!!!! He was great as always….glad I got to see Joey in Slipknot & Satyricon before his untimely passing. RIP Joey Jordison 🤘🏽🙏🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽

What a weird comparison. I guess CoF and Satyricon have the thing in common that they had a very black metal sound early on but evolved to something a bit different 😂

@sergiodavila5269 Ah, I didn't read your message properly. Makes more sense now 😆 I didn't know they have toured together.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas co-starred Benicio del Toro but was directed by Terry Gilliam. It's one of my favorite movies, Johnny Depp is a phenomenal actor who adds a hint of crazy to all of his roles.
Evening guys! That was a kool video/song. First time hearing them and i enjoyed their sound! 🤓
ofc next is mother north and/or phoenix with norwegian opera! thanks for this one

Good suggestion! The opera show is awesome!
Hey Hollywood! I had a pet goat with a goatee named goatee lmao! He was a stubborn brat but I loved him. Lol
Mother North is tru norwegian black Metal song. Don't know who suggested this😅 but the above is closer to Satyricons sound!
Black and Roll! I don't know about pure goth clubs in ATL, but pay attention to a place called "The Masquerade" in your city -- almost always an amazing metal show coming up there!
How the fuck did I find this song so late! I can't keep it out of my head for months now... It's a "dance in the shower" black metal song 😂
First off: absolutely love your videos. To expound upon that a bit, I’m a massive music eccentric who easily makes the phrase “Head” for hip hop and metal; that being said I love seeing your journeys into these other genres and on just the Black Metal tip: I have a few recommendations of some of my all time favorites that I’ve yet to see on here. Please do ya’llselves a big, big favor and react to some Darkthrone; maybe “Too Old Too Cold” video. Also, if you like that you need to hear some Celtic Frost; I suggest “Procreation of the wicked” (maybe heaviest riff in current history). And one more, for the symphonic side of early black metal, the mighty, Emperor. How about “The loss and curse of reverence” or “empty” music videos. Alright, a trillion more could be listed but, l think that’s a nice start. All the best to you two!
The genre for this song is Black 'n' Roll
Black metal at its finest
This song gets a lot of shit from the hardcore BM fans, but I dig it. I can actually sneak this one around my friends.
Fun thing you mentioned Pantera. If you for some reason choose to watch the Roadkill Extravaganza tour video, you'll see that they actually were touring with Pantera in the Rebel Extravaganza era. 😁👌
Masterpiece! ty guys.
What a song! Phoenix would be another one to check from them!
Satyr the singer and frost the drummer are satyricon from Norway. Joey Jordison once filled in for them when frost couldn't come in the states.
So cool that you said Pantera. They used to be good friends with them and tour with them.
DAMN!!! FINALlY!!!
Listen to their dark medieval times album and ull get the real deal...youll be transported into some dark nordic forest in a minute..one of the best live shows ive ever seen..wolfpack is a great song too..
Wow this was the last thing i thought id see here 😉
oh this took me back to when I played this in the club I DJed at.. great times

It's Mother North. Mother Earth is a Within Temptation song.
You should check out some of their earliee works. My favourite album is Nemesis Divina. "Mother North" from that album must be their biggest "hit" from that era. My personal favourite is "Du som hater Gud". It's Norwegian and translates to "You who hates God".
Fun fact: I used to wrestle, and this was my theme song
Do “Black Crow on a Tombstone” and “The Pentagram Burns” next.
Try "Fuel for Hatred"; "Now, Diabolical" or "Black Crow on a Tombstone".
Satyricons song "Fuel for hatred" Is a absolute banger that i listen to at work when i need to pick up some speed.
Since you are "somewhat familiar" with Slipknot, maybe you should check out blackened death metal band Sinsaenum? Joey Jordison on drums. Two lead vocalists, one of them being Attila Csihar from Mayhem. Also bassist from Dragonforce. I suggest "Anfang des Albtraumes". It's mostly in English despite the name 😂 There's an official lyric video.
"Die By My Hand" live with the choir is 🔥
I met Satyr and frost in the lobby by the merch booth. Cool guys. Didn’t know much English but a cool conversation
Hey guys! Satyricon - To the mountains live from Opera is so dope! Btw. very nice reaction!
We are the pagans, we are the Norwegian Black Metal…. K.I.N.G. BTW, Frost and Hellhammer inspired Joey Jordinson in the double bass drum kicks! I think you had a good reaction to this video! 🤘🏻
Lol, actually they toured and opened for Pantera in 2000, that eventually turned out to be Pantera's last European tour ever
Satyricon did open for Pantera on one of their last tours. Phil Ansalemo are friends with alot of the black metal guys from Norway. Watch their movie Roadkill extravagansa from their tour with Pantera. A lot of awesome funny footage
There is a specific term for this kind of accesible black metal: "Rot 'n Roll"
Have you guys done Obituary?...
Several goats on the cover of Pet Sounds… just for the sake of accuracy 😊🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Dissection "The Somberlain" next??? Or maybe some Barry Manilow?
have you guys gave it any thoughts about redoing your intro in a nu metal style
In general Satyricon does Black Metal. K.I.N.G though leans toward Black'n'Roll.
Give Steve Vai with the Holland orchestra playing For the Love of God live. One of the best rock instrumental performances I ever saw. The guitar lit a cigarette when he was done.
its ^ bLACKN rOLL!
They played this song at a Norwegian fashion show
Love Satyricon!!
Wait until you see the uncensored version of mother north.
my mom love your videos and I do too ❤you should do tom MacDonald names or space trash by Brandon heart featuring tom MacDonald
Satyricon started off as traditional Black Metal but they changed their sound over time to different styles. K.I.N.G. (Killing in the name of god) is more of a Death n' Roll sound which is a mix of extreme metal and traditional rock n' roll like AC/DC. Another band that has done that is Entombed and Entombed AD which was a reformed version of the band by the OG singer, the late LG Petrov.
Black Metal.....try Black Crow on the tombstone Satyricon
Acronym K.I.N.G - (Kill Images Not Gods) 🤘😎🤘
tHEY TOUR WITH pANTERA IN 90
i would consider this part of Satyricon Black 'n Roll sub genre of Black Metal. They've done a lot of different sorts of black metal and Extreme Metal.
Cool.more Black Metal would be nice.Thank you🙂🙂🙂
They started out as a black metal band and then moved on from there. This album is considered more as a "black and roll". Whatever you want to call it, it's just a great band. Their last album was more black metal again. I'd advise you to check out dark midieval times or the shadow throne, those are the roots and terrific albums. Still my favourites
Joey jordison played drums in the music video at least for their song fuel for hatred

Lol wtf. He's not on the video.
Great band
Please do gorgoroth - carving a giant
There's nothing like real instruments
🤘 Love this band. I'm pretty sure this song is about the Norse Gods rising up against Christianity. 🍻💨🤘
You should try Satyricon's song "Now, Diabolical"-live with Oslo Opera Choir. :D
You say you love Atlanta. Always hyping your city but I've yet to hear you listen to a song about your home. My strong suggestion to you is Alison Krauss and Union Station performing "Oh Atlanta" live from the Chicago theatre or there are other live shows to choose from. Come on if you love this place as much as you say you do spin this song!!!!!
You gotta dive into Ov Sulfur one of the best death metal with clean vocals WIDE OPEN FT HOWARD JONES, OBLIVION FT TIM LAMBESIS, EARTHEN THOSE BY FAR THE BEST
Lots of black metal out there. I dig Dark medieval times as a black metal record. But I don’t think anyone does the black N’ roll thing better. Their middle to late period is really their sound. Not trying to be Mayhem.
Sigurd Vongraven SATYR old school of Norway Black Metal Scene BURZUM,DARKTHRONE,MAYHEM, IMMORTAL,EMPEROR,.....GORGOROTH.......etc..
If you liked this you would love: "Immortal Blashyrkh".
Come on guys...it's time for some ABBATH.!! Abbath - Fenrir Hunts (Live, September 2015).
i have to like the video it´s Satyricon FFS 🤘👴🤘
We saw them in Dallas and drank with them and Goatwhore and my buddy fell in the street
KinG
Black'and'Roll
Want to listen to good thrash metal. Listen to Dark Angel Darkness descends.
Borknagar - Winter Thrice
I think it's Leaving Las Vegas that's the only Nicholas Cage movie I enjoy
Recomend this music of Satyricon Phoenix (Live)
"K.I.N.G"!!!
Oldschool satyricon is more black metal. They did tour with Pantera in 2000
balackened rn roll
Black n' roll mutha fkrs!
Norway 🇧🇻😈🇧🇻
You to take a look over MayheM _ My death live at wacken
This song always make me cringe so hard, especially if you see the music video. Makes more sense if you're from where they are though.
Matter of taste but I don’t like this song, I found it boring. I love black metal but this song is what would happened if Nirvana try to play black metal 😂. Seriously is almost a Rob Zombie song
