Zeppelin recorded 108 songs. 90 of them are absolute fire. The remaining 18 are still better than what most other bands can dream of.

The next Led Zeppelin song you two should react to is Achilles Last Stand. Everyone knows Stairway to Heaven, but Achilles Last Stand is their best song, in my opinion of course.

Tool honored Led Zeppelin with their cover. One thing that people don't often mention about Led Zeppelin is why those songs and albums sound as good as they do. Guitarist/mastermind Jimmy Page was the producer - not many bands had a producer who was also a band member. He didn't want singles, he wanted people to experience the album.

John Paul Jones is so underrated. He could play bass and keyboard with ease. Led is just awesome.

John Paul Jones is the heart and soul of Zeppelin... he's the glue that makes the music between the rest of the guys in the band seem so ethereal and seamless. Often overlooked because Jimmy, John, and Robert are front and center S-Tier Gods.... JPJ is a tier all by himself.

This was of their 5th album in 1973 called Houses of the Holy, in a way quite experimental from their previous stuff, amazing album which has some other great track, The Rain Song springs to mind.

It's true that they never had a number one hit single. Two reasons for it:

When I was a kid I drove this big ass 1989 Buick Regal that had no stereo, so I wired a boom box up to the power from the cigarette lighter. I used to drive around and listen to this song, and it was then and is now the only piece of music that while listening to it I actually feel like I'm stoned when completely sober. It did that playing through a cassette tape on a boom box wired in to a cigarette lighter on an 89 Buick Regal. Amazing.

Also, in the 60s-70s, "album oriented rock" or "AOR" was a popular radio format which basically promoted the playing of entire albums. Led zeppelin played a major hand in popularising this. And their albums were indeed played front to back all over the country!
