    The craziest thing is this is the last song in their set and she still has total control of her breath and voice.

    @@j.f.fisher5318 She was out of breath even before the song started. I saw them live in a crowded indoor place; she was actually out of breath after the second song, and they played 15. But she kept delivering until the end. I think she might have replaced long high notes with something else maybe two or three times in the whole set. The thing is, she apparently does not warm up, does not practice, smokes, etc. It's all raw and natural. If she worked on her stamina and technique, I can't imagine how good she could be.

    Great reaction guys. And no she had absolutely no training, she taught herself (check out some interviews online, she talks about it). Next, I think you need to check out a tune from their latest album (Macro), the song is Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev) you will be amazed how much more she's fine tuned her growls, it's down right brutal

  • @j.f.fisher5318
    @j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын

    She took a few months of training for cleans when she was in school, but didn't have the discipline to do anything with it at the time. I suspect she's smart enough to have remembered the lessons and built on them over the years as she sang constantly for fun. The rest she figured out by herself, though I suspect she might have got tips online, especially when she started practicing growls. There are well known trainers for growling vocals like Melissa Cross who has worked with big names like Randy Blythe and Angela Gossow, and MaryZ. I'd suggest Jinjer's Outlander, preferably the Failure .Color video which is the most popular for that song. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live is also fire, though I'd suggest having the lyrics pulled up because it is mostly growls and goes deeper than most of their song - you haven't heard her low growls yet! :D Cheers!

    I saw them at the end of last year in a super small venue (maybe about 200 people) and the energy there was absolutely great. They toured with two other female-fronted openers, which only contributed to the atmosphere. Tatiana studied at a music school for vocals just a couple of months when she was a teenager but left there, as she said in an interview, because she was very bored there ... But from an early age she loved to sing and sang in many local bands in her hometown of Gorlovka (Donbass, Ukraine), until at the request of her friends from a young band Jinjer replaced TEMPORARILY (with just a few concerts in a previously planned tour) the band’s first vocalist Max Fatullaev who unexpectedly left for the USA (yes, the man was the first vocalist of the band). It was in 2009 - as you can see, Tatiana’s arrival in the group so transformed Jinjer and was so successful that the “temporary replacement” has been going on for more than 10 years and transferred Jinjer from the status of a local rock band to the status of world leaders of the genre! Stay Metal! Peace! P.S. And her education is not at all musical: Tatiana has an university high degree and is a certified specialist in the field of Russian literature and poetry - that is why all the lyrics of the group (Tatiana is the author of 99% of them) are so deep and full of allegories!

    As a vocalist myself who is getting into the whole metal scene Yes, there's technique that goes into growling. Most people think that they use their vocal cords but if growling is done right what is used are false chords so there are no vocal cords used. Tatiana from what I know was vocally trained for 2 months then the rest she is self taught.

They have a range from death core back in their Neverbloom album if you want to go hard as f! Their newer albums have evolved more into metal core. A couple of song i might point out would be Neverbloom, Elegies and Widower from the Neverbloom album, Old Souls off of the self titled, Fireworks, Midnight Run, and Vortex from 'Worlds Apart' and their new album 'How to Survive a Funeral comes out in late July 2020 and they already have 4 singles out from that album.

    Tati has said she’s had no vocal training. She’s self-taught. But yeah, there are vocal coaches who teach growling. Melissa Cross is well known. On KZread, there’s VoiceHacks by Mary Z (she used to have a video where she broke down Tati’s vocals, but it seems like it has been taken down). As far as recommendations, “Who is Gonna Be the One” (official live), “Captain Clock” (live at Resurrection Fest), “Judgment (and Punishment)” (live in Melbourne)...there are so many! For something super heavy, there’s “Sit Stay Roll Over”. Or go back to old school Jinjer with “Scissors” or “Exposed as a Liar”. You can’t go wrong with any Jinjer track really.

    Epic performance! These guys are something else live! Do some other live ones like "Who´s Gonna Be The One" live, "Captain Clock" live at Ressurrection Fest or "Pit Of Consciouness" live in Kiev. Peace.

    There are vocal coaches out there for extreme vocals. Most famously, Melissa Cross worked with a lot of metal vocalists, male and female. Tatiana never had any official coaching, and she developed her techniques on her own.

    You boys gotta do who is going to be the one live and then Outlander live. You listen to this in the morning, and I drink 4 cups of coffee A-day ,you won't need a cup of coffee to get your day started. Seriously

    'Goin' the Growl' or 'Growling Out' has, here in Australia, a totally different meaning than in the Heavy Metal industry.

    If you get a chance to see Jinjer, do it. I’ve seen them twice in smaller clubs (maybe 50-60 people at the first show and 200+ at the second) and they put just as much energy into the shows as I’ve noticed at the large festivals. 🤘🏻
