Thanks for doing this one! Funny story related to this song. Back in the 80s and 90s, Will Clark was the first baseman for the San Francisco Giants. His nickname was “The Thrill”. I remember reading that he had this song on his answering machine.

Thanks for hitting some blues fellas not sure if you hit Robert Cray yet but definitely a good listen
Robert Cray, Eric Clapton; and Jimmy Vaughan (SRV's brother) all playing their signature Fenders. Fun fact - BB's guitar is called Lucille. But no specific guitar - they're all called Lucille.

Lucille is a great song about a guitar who saves his life.

I saw him first time I LA and BB’s guitar had Lucille written and I think that guitar He donated to BB’s Museum
Good reaction! That was from the Crossroads Guitar festival 2010. A charity benefit put on by Eric Clapton. He did a few. The money goes to a drug rehab facility. Yes, it was near the end for BB. He died in 2015. Others identified the big 3 on stage. I can help with a few that joined at the end. There was Ronnie Wood, Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks. The really old guy was Hubert Sumlin, a legend, Buddy Guy, Johnnie Winter, Joe Bonamassa, David Hidalgo and Stevie Winwood on organ. All top tier musicians. That is all I seen for sure. There were a lot more on stage. (Yes, I have this on DVD. Do people still by DVDs?)

The thing about his music and style was the clean sound and the way he didn’t fill every space. Sometimes less is more and he knew that.

I think that is Jimmy Vaughn on the White Fender Strat, in the middle.

And Robert Randolph on the Pedal Steel.
Helluva lineup there. Eric Clapton Robert Cray Jimmie Vaughn ( Stevie Ray's brother) At the end, joining them : Buddy Guy Jeff Beck Susan Tedeschi Derek Trucks
Jonny Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Son House, Albert King, Buddy Guy, BIG Mamma Thorton, etc....I Could go on but I won't. I do love the blues.
Sitting next to BB: Jimmie Vaughan, Stevie's older brother, is the one in the black shirt with the white Strat. Eric Clapton is next to BB with the blue Strat. Robert Cray is the one with the sunburst Strat. "Herman" is actually Hubert Sumlin. He played with Muddy Waters. Robert Randolph on the pedal steel guitar. Buddy Guy is in the blue Hawiian-style shirt with the yellow Strat and Ron Woods from the Rolling Stones walked on stage with him. Johnny Winters in the black cowboy hat. Keb Mo and Johnny Lang also. Warren Haynes from the Allman Brothers Band. Derek Trucks (nephew of Allman Brothers drummer Butch Trucks) and his wife Susan Tedeschi.
The amount of legendary is toooo damn hiiigh!!❤
So many of these wonderful long-term old school Blues artist who kept at it finally got some real recognition in the wake of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his Rising popularity in the 80s, helped bring attention to the genre by mainstream audience again. So you got Legends IBB here finally getting their do
Lots of talent on and off stage. BB King, Clapton, Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughan (SRV's big bro) onstage. Lots of cameo's from back stage. BBs bent note style changed guitar playing for everybody that plays, whether they know it or not. That guitar is a Gibson ES-355 "Lucille" model semi-hollow (solid center block with hollow 'wings' - helps fight feedback) electric guitar, which is the fanciest version of the Gibson ES-335 line. It has gold hardware, split diamond headstock inlay, block fingerboard inlays and most importantly, no "f" holes (like other semi-hollows) to help fight against feedback.
I used to be the head bartender at BB's club on Beale St in Memphis. He was a funny and kind man. It was the only place I've ever worked that I was given a going away party when I left. Usually it was just a kick in the ass...
I was lucky enough to see BB King in concert at least 10 times. He killed it each and every time.
BB was making music in 7 decades. 1949 - the 2000's. His album Live at the Regal was the album that brought blues music into the mainstream. One of the many beautiful aspects of his character was that he always gave people a chance to shine, he never hogged the limelight himself and gave countless musicians their biggest exposure.
I love the old 'you can feel it' blues. I'm tech illiterate, don't even use a cell. So, my daughter helped me find you fellas on her tablet, but she didn't tell me how to request Howlin Wolfe Smoke stack lighting. I watch ya on TV but never have learned to comment and so on.
My wife and I were fortunate to watch BB King perform in Clearwater, FL a few months before he passed. First off, his band all had to be over 70 y 18:43 ears old and were cooler than the north pole. Someone helped BB King walk out to the stage and sit down in the chair as he flirted with every woman in the front row for the whole show. The he moment the first notes right now from Lucille, the whole concert hall was transformed into that magical place called the blues.
I'm depressed now, blues week has come to an end. Such a great genre of music, and so influential.
In honor of Riley (Blues Boy) B.B. King, call the Microphone "Blues Boy", it is Blue after all. There are many, many versions of this song by many, many bands. One of my favorites is by Jerry Garcia and David "Dawg" Grisman, from the album "Garcia/Grisman", with a cool accompanying video where Jerry and Dawg are dressed as gangsters. B.B King's guitars are called "Lucille", all of them.
I was waiting for Hollywood to ask if Smokey’s sure BB King is the Blues lol😅🤘🏼
Please review anything by Rory Gallagher. He was an amazing blues player from Ireland you will love him Unfortunately he passed away far too young.
Morning guys! Loved this! Seeing all them up there together was magic! Thanks linda for the suggestion! Great great choice!!😁🤓🎸
Next up: the greatest Blues Supergroup of all time, The Louisiana Gator Boys! BB King, Koko Taylor, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Gary U.S. Bonds, Bo Diddley, Lou Rawls, Travis Tritt, Jimmy Vaughn, Clarence Clemons, Isaac Hayes, Steve Winwood, Paul Schaefer, Jeff Baxter, Willie Weeks, Tommy McDonnell, Charlie Musselwhite, Billy Preston, John Faddis, Grover Washington, Jack DeJohnette, and Joshua Redman. Now THAT'S a lot of talent! Edit: Oh, snap! The dude with the powder blue guitar is Eric Clapton!
BB is older here. You shoulda heard him sing this when he was younger!! Perfection!
To get an idea of the stature of B.B. King, how many people can say "My backup guitarists are Eric Clapton. Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughn?" And sampling this would be a damn crime.
Just here to give BB his flowers
Lucky enough to see BB at Crossroads 2013 before he passed. Great concerts that Clapton puts on to support his rehab center in Antigua. They let you in even if you can't pay! Great guitarists! Has one this year in LA. I highly recommend if you want to hear some great music! BTW, Clapton brings many legends in on these concerts and they do it free to help Clapton! Concerts usually run 2 nights long of legend after legend. Jeff Beck, BB, John Mayer, Jimmie Vaughn(Stevies brother), Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, Albert Lee, Gary Clark Jr. too many to name!
Nice choice. As said above the dude w the white guitar playing super tasty stuff is Stevie Ray Vaughn’s older brother Jimmie. SRV is often thought to be the perfect mix of his brother’s smooth and endless blues riffs and Hendrix acid blues little wing/voodoo child era. Combine the 2 you get SRV. Deadly ass combo.
Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy( 77 version) This is mandatory for blues week.
When you get a thumbs up from the teacher, you know the students learned well.❤
Now you are listening to some Blues. My favorite tune from B B King is Lucille. It is a song about his guitar. You’ll note he makes his guitar talk. Love it.
I named my guitar Lucille bc of BB ❤❤❤
He King of Blues. RIP BB
Eric Clapton and Robert Cray, regretfully didn't know the third, but it's Jimmie Vaughan. edit- oh my, didn't watch to the end, bit of a who's who of the guitar/blues guitar world.

Yeah, cameos later by Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Ron Wood, Joe Bonamassa for sure, and I'm sadly unsure of the rest.
Saw him together with Bobby Blue Bland in Austin, a million yearsago.
BB, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, and that is Jimmy Vaughan. Stevie's older brother who taught Stevie Ray how to play.
great song an reaction as always
I see Ronnie woods of the Rolling Stones, Clapton playing that blue guitar sitting by bb. I think Eric.
What a lineup!! Great video.
❤ LEGEND ❤ LEGEND ❤ LEGEND ❤ RIP, HE WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED AND MISSED BY ALL. Thank you for reacting to this ❤
the men sitting on the stage are (l to r): jimmie vaughn (stevie ray vaughn's brother); robert cray; and eric clapton.
Saw one of his last shows in Glasgow. It was awesome and ill always him as one of the greatest
Gary Moore 'the Messiah will come again ' LIVE 🤘😎
Saw BB once at a show during the St Louis Blues Festival with Robert Cray and Kenny Wayne Shepard! After each song he threw 2 handfuls of pics into the audience.
Steve. Your mic is giving me Steve vibes 😆 idk why but that’s the funniest name to me, when you’re giving an inanimate object a person’s name

Robert Randolph was the dude playing the sitdown steel slide guitar towards the end. Check out some live performances by Robert Randolph and the Family Band. You wont be disappointed!
Robert Randolph was the dude playing the lapsteel guitar
It's just sounds cool and moves your Soul and the singer looks like Morgan Freeman
This is pretty chill I like it good job guys continue
How the hell did i miss this , WOW JUST WOW !
BB doesn’t play and sing at same time. BB let’s Lucille Sing ❤ Been to see him twice❤❤❤
eric clapton used to put on a yearly blues show. it was often played on the entertainment channel. dont know if this is from one of those shows but they would be worth finding. wonderful
So glad you found this performance! Each of those guitarist are huge stars on their own in this homage to BB. Check them out…..Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmie. Vaughn…

I saw B.B. King live in Sweden for like 35 years ago. 🙏
Loved this guys. Loved ❤ it
Ol' BB gets on that one note & rides it forever! 😂
I love you guys! enjoyed watching this with you-really nice❣
That 'noise' is BB's signature guitar tone.
Wow! Such a great performance! Thank you, I loved it!
Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan. Then Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy. All playing Fender Stratocasters. BB playing Gibson ES 335.
Watch something from the '80s or earlier when he was really on fire, standing up with no hangers on and totally bossing it.
I'm a rocker from way back (65 years old). But the more time goes by the more convinced I become that the greatest genre of music of all time is the blues!

im 70, and have come around to the same thoughts....the greatest rockers of the 60s and 70s all swore by the old blues...thats where most got their inspiration...led by hendrix and alvin lee in the late 60s...
So grateful I was able to see him live! 🖤
That was a blues clinic right there!
Eric clapton, Robert cray and Jimmy Vaughn, Stevie Ray older brother,...
❤️❤️❤️ Smokey: ❤️ the AcidBath shirt.
White Strat - Jimmie Vaughan. Sunburst Strat - Robert Cray. Blue Strat - Eric Clapton.
Yesss I just rewatched the original and was like I wonder if they have haha yep
Percy Skedge. When a man loves a woman. Omg. The emotion on his voice. If you don’t feel something inside, your dead.
That is an electric guitar (a semi hollow body guitar). Gibson and Epephone ae the most popular brands. BB has the simplest style, but most effective.
The cholesterol medicine crack! Priceless. Great stuff guys.
jimmie vaughn is sitting in with these legends, he him a legend also. jimmie older brother and idol of young stevie ray vaughn
You said it! This is "Baby Makin' Music!!" Husband is home in about an hour. I'll stop back by in about nine months and tell you how it went.....
BB King played in 8 different decades, from 1942 - 2014. The man IS Blues!!!
Robert Cray killed this for me. He was one the best soloist besides BB. I love this!!
One should have Riding With King in your album list.
😞😇😇 hey gentlemen BB King‘s last performance I believe was October 11, 2014 he died in May 2015!! Definitely a true blues icon🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼
Rights lads... Suggestion. So we've done Blues week, but lets be honest we've only scratched the surface here. Im proposing that Blues week becomes an annual event on the channel onceor even twice a year you pull a Blues week out
Of all the "King"s of the blues era, Albert is my favorite. Do yourself a favor and check him out. A sleeper candidate is Melvin Taylor out of Chicago. I get all the feels from his playing.
The Mic's name should be Shannon to make Smokey feel bad every time he hits it! lol

There is another King that you need to check out. You've heard B. B. and you might know Albert King. But you need to search for Freddie King, and the song I recommend is "Sweet Home Chicago". You won't be disappointed.
That’s Clapton playing next to B. B.!
Got to try B.B and U2 with When Love Comes to Town
I got to see BB King live about four years before his unfortunate death. He couldn't really stand very well and performed sitting but his muscle memory was perfect he sounded just as goood as he did when he was younger. I am going to try and go see Buddy Guy on his farewell tour this year. He is the last remaining original Blue's man. Now that i looked it up this was the year i saw him just not this performance
They are all sitting because NOBODY sits higher than the king. Seriously. It's a show of respect because B.B. couldn't stand for long. Now you guys need to see B.B. playing with a man by the name of Derek Trucks
The Blues Boy of Beale Street
I can't believe how much you guys know about guitar playing, but you've never listened to Bb King. So, here are a few other guys and girls influenced by BB King and the Blues...Eric Clapton (Beatles), Keith Richards (Stones), Stevie Ray Vaughn (self), Jimmy Hendrix (outer space), Bonnie Raitt (solo?). Basically they discovered old blues and gave birth to Rock andd Roll. Some Country music too.
BB King didn't play guitar, he sang duets with Lucille
Sometimes, some of the best parts of his lead is, like, one note...
If it looked like an incredibly famous musician on that stage, it was.
BB never sang and played at the same time. Lyrics...notes...lyrics...etc.
@unndunn1

He said more that once that he “didn’t like to play chords” I think in all of his playing you’ll hear that his style is to put the notes where they belong and to keep spaces where they belong. (My awkward attempt at trying to explain it).
The man…
Great stuff, have a look at a duet of this song that he did with Gary Moore - even better.
Contrast the flashy solo from Eric Clapton to the economy and tastefulness of BB King. I know which is my jam. Rest in peace blues boy.
Eric Clapton and Robert Cray and Jimmy Vaughn and BB King
Eric Clapton is genius, you must react to this songs Eric Clapton- Some old bluse live Eric Clapton- Crossroads live Eric Clapton- Bad love Eric Clepton- After Midnight.... B.B King ft Eric Clepton- Rock me baby On these songs you can see the real art of playing the electric guitar, different styles that only Clapton can play perfectly!
You need to do Old Love live by Eric Clapton
Your Mic should be Named Russell.
Mic name.. Jeff??
BB King said more with 5-6 notes, than a lot of shredders say with 500-600. You "Felt" it when he played.
I think the guy at the end is Jimmie Vaughan Stevie Ray Vaughan's brother
Star-studded stage. You need to google it.
