Rondo can also be like a 'circle' since the song is kinda never ending nightmare and a wall clock is kinda like a circle shape. And 'rondo' is from 'round', 'rounded'.

You were right about the Budokan, it was built as a martial arts arena for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and is a prestigious music venue where you only get to play by invitation. BABYMETAL became the youngest average age female band to headline there and sold it out 2 nights running. This was early in 2014, Su was 16, Yui and Moa were 14.

I don't know where you people found that urban legend that you can play at the Nippon Budokan only on invitation... It's a martial arts arena, and being it in Tokyo, it's booked for most of the year, so you have to present a request to the administration way before the dates you want, but there's no invitation-only rule, that's just a legend

I can't speak for all of us people, but I can say I had no idea and it was never suggested that it might be an urban legend (it never showed up on any 'urban legend' websites I've seen), so thank you for putting that straight. I strive to provide accurate information, not to mislead. All it takes is for you people who know better to add a polite comment correcting something us people may have got wrong or been misled about, we are less likely to repeat it.

@@Grington300 www.nipponbudokan.or.jp/english there's no reference to "invitation only" on the organization's site, i've checked, but in the english guide there's this section, and i quote: "The facilities at the Nippon Budokan are made available for various Budō events such as tournaments and demonstrations. It is also used as a venue for various national, educational, and large-scale commercial events such as concerts etc." Being available as a venue for various other things outside of Budō events defeats the purpose of it being invitational only, after all, if it's for only a selected few, it's not available as a venue...

"Mischief of Metal Gods" intro is a ritual performed by the god of guitar, bass & drum to summoned the Metal Queen Su-Metal. because in this song hers human soul has been trapped in recurring nightmare and can't escape from there. The Kami Band in this show are : - Leda Cygnus (1st guitar solo) - Takayoshi Ohmura (2nd guitar solo) - Boh (6 string bass) - Hideki Aoyama (drum). ueah, that's right. only those who's got chosen or invited that can hold concert in "Nippon Budokan". the first band that play there was "The Beatles" in 1966.

Su-metal was 16 and rocking the world ! One of the performances that made me a fan, not many, if any, can deliver such a show. And amazing talents.

⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 That was a three solo night for Su. She also performed 'Akatsuki' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow' (a rare one). Yui and Moa also did two songs (as Black BABYMETAL) that night without Su. On each of the first albums there are two Su solo songs and two Black BABYMETAL songs. For Su's solos: 'No Rain, Rainbow' is a straight up ballad. 'Amore' is power metal. Nice bass solo in the Wembley version. 'Akatsuki' starts slowly, but is pure fire. There are no solos on the latest album, although the song 'Kagerou' started off as a solo on the 2018 tour.

My guess is that they've retired the Black BBABYMETAL songs with Yui gone (you could speak more to this since you've gone to shows since she left). Makes it fair/even for Moa and Su to both be out there the whole time, I would guess is the thinking.

@@mr.osclasses5054 Moa did both 'GJ!' and '4 no Uta' as a solo for the 'Legend S' concerts, but of course Yui was expected to perform at those shows. Moa did go on to perform 'GJ!' as a solo song during the 2018 tour, while Su did 'Akatsuki' and 'Kagerou' (known as 'Tattoo' at the time.) You're right, there were no solos in 2019, or in 2020 so far, but I wouldn't count them out forever. BABYMETAL songs have a way of returning when you don't expect them to, like 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' earlier this year.

Been waiting for you guys to do this song. It truly shows how amazing the musicianship in Babymetal is.

BOH is easily one of the top 10, probably top 5 bassists I've ever heard.

The Kami band are exceptional musicians. They normally do one of these instrumental pieces per show, some shows have had 2, some have had none. It depends on how much rest time they think the girls will need. The one in this video is "Mischief of the Metal Gods", which is pretty much its own song. The others they do are intros to other songs. So far, they've done Kami intros for Catch Me if You Can, Yava, Awadama Fever, and more recently Kagerou. The first 3 all have pro shot compilations on KZread with the Kami intro if you want to check them out.

This is BABYMETAL’s best song ever made in my opinion great reaction guys!

BOH (6-string bass) loves to play for Babymetal and has stated he goes out of his way to accept Babymetal contracts. And as much as he likes to shred that bass doing heavy metal for thousands of people, he is also a great jazz/fusion player. Offstage he is also humble and hard working with a bit of a sense of humor. One of his idols is Billy Sheehan who was known for doing ground-breaking and unorthodox playing. BOH jokes that he never knew that one was not supposed to play bass that way. All the kamiband members are versatile musicians. Mikio, BOH, and Yuya Maeta formed a trio called the Kari Band (temporary band) doing a lot of Mikio's jazz compositions. Sometimes with guest artists. A couple years since Mikio passed and Kari Band re-formed with a different guitarist.

BOH and Hideki (drummer) are my two favorites. BOH has a Flea-like presence/energy on stage a lot of times, and Hideki won me over the first song I heard of theirs a couple months back, "Distortion". I don't think I'd ever heard double-bass being played like that in a song before, I grew up on Metallica and other metal bands.

Next Babymetal Monday has to be either "Akatsuki" live at the budokan or "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Live at sonisphere! As for the days in between...another Band maid song, maybe "YOLO" or "Blooming" or another Jinjer song, maybe "Teacher teacher", if you havent done it! Yeah! Akatsuki! The great level of music and voice at the same time in Rondo of Nightmare is only surpassed by Akatsuki. (also, remember, there is that outstanding "unfinished" version of Akatsuki to make you cry).

I love this song so much! Sometimes it makes me cry, and it‘s not even because it‘s a particularly sad song, it‘s because the melodies are so incredibly beautiful. And Su‘s amazing performance makes it even more overwhelming.

I have watched this I don't know how many times and it never fails to give me goosebumps. Both Budokan shows are well worth the watch. Suggestions - "Akasuki" from the same concert; "IDZ" at Sonisphere 2014; "Sis Anger" although I'm not sure there is a good pro-shot of this floating around.

Next you should react to babymetal historical epic performance “Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 UK". This is one of the most important show in Babymetal's history. Thanks to this show, babymetal finally received recognition from metal fans and signified their entry into the western metal world. A little story about this show, this was the first time played in a metal festival outside Japan. Actually, on schedule, they would perform in small stage in front of 3 thousand people. But in the end, they were promoted to the main stage, and the girls just knew it later. So instead in front of their loyal fans, the 3 girls in their 14-16 years old must face 50 thousands of metal head. Three girls sang in Japanese, performing a choreography, in a rock festival, in front of true metal fans who never heard babymetal before and will not understand a bit what they will sing about, except maybe a word “chocolate”. And also Babymetal has it's haters among the metal heads. Fears of them being booed and having bottles thrown at them were there. There was a backstage photo of the girls a moment before the show, they looked terrified. You should search the photo and check it out, you can imagine their nervous. Su-metal said in the interview after the show, that before the coming to the stage they were not sure about how will the crowd respond, they were not very confident and very nervous. She also said that at first not many people responded, but as the song went by, people started to throw the fox sign or metal sign. In the end babymetal became the most talked about band in the festival and their merchandise was top seller .

Loved your reaction seeing the Kamis but i was sat just waiting for you to see Su's performance and was not disappointed Remember we said the whole concept for BabyMetal was built around Su's Vocals and stage presence and thought of before she was even in her teens . You ģuys have got to see one of there full stadium shows . To see how awsome they are . Tool might have there Army but BabyMetal have there Galactic Empire ( thats us the fans ).

The guts to sing a song like that live at 16 is insane. So demanding. Great stuff as always, you guys should check out Babymetal's performance with Rob Halford from Judas Priest. They do two Judas Priest covers together and the girls do some things you might not expect.

Rondo means something that repeats, which fits with the lyrics of the song, that's about a nightmare you can't escape and comes back around to haunt you.

Su is as good an entertainer as any other active today.

I honestly think that Su could’ve held that note longer if she really wanted to. She didn’t seem to struggle or have difficulty holding it for the 4-6 seconds she did hold it. Still impressive for a 16 year old. Probably the best singer of my generation and maybe all time.

Great reaction to one of four solos that Su performs - and all are equally epic! Could see you were pretty mesmerised through the whole performance, and appreciated Su's vocals a lot (she's a soprano with a range of C4 to G#5 and is proud of her breath control, which she practices very diligently) as well as the excellent band member skills. You are correct. _LEGEND 1997_ was just a little over two months before they played at Budokan. :)

Moa and Yui are in the back resting and rehydrating. In my case, that would involve massive IVs and an AED. They'll come out and do some Black BabyMetal songs while Su gets a chance to rest.

I like to believe Moa is demolishing a bucket of kfc during these breaks and had a special clause added into her contract, this is just my opinion but I’m sticking with it. She needs to take in a lot of calories to maintain her half inch height advantage over Yui Metal and avoid the dreaded front position in the class line up

I'm late to the party but just wanted to point out how Metal the lyrics are: This song is about a girl trapped in an endless circle of nightmare that she can't escape. That's the darkest song BABYMETAL ever wrote in my opinion.

I love the concept of the band. The musiciands are amongst the best I've heard lately, specially the bass player. I get that being "Baby Metal", the vocalist would have the traditional nasal high pitched voice so popular in pop or tradicional Japanese music. But it IS the vocals that kill it all to me. It's like having Nightwish musicians playing and instead of Floor, Britney Spears is in the vocals.

I'd love to see you guys react to Charles Berthoud - Bass Solo in Whirlwind Tuning. You're brains may explode, he's that good, and a fellow KZreadr!

I think it might be time for them to get their minds blown by Ne Obliviscaris with And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope. Although, I'm still pulling for my Kamelot - Elizabeth (I, II, & III) (Live) suggestion too.

At 11~ minutes Su is doing something I have heard others call 'nasal resonance'. Its a technique to change the tone of your lyrics by holding the microphone to your nose/nasal cavity and letting it echo out.

Sorry for double posting, but I just want to point out that Su-Metal has already been singing for about 20 years. But, she did not start singing like this until 2007, so let’s say she’s been at it for 13 years so far. (In 2007, Su-Metal was performing with an older sister, Himeka, as Tween while attending Actor’s School Hiroshima. )

Each sub-group had a different style. White Babymetal sang of timeless themes of human struggles and inner conflict. Black Babymetal has a lot of attitude and focused on contemporary themes.
