My first experience with DOOM was when I was a little girl, about 6, when my older cousin was keeping an eye on me. Demon Days by Gorillaz was a recent record at the time and he had it playing while we drew pictures together to pass the time. November Has Come came on and my cousin watched in amusement as my attention shifted away from my doodling to the speakers of his cd player, seemingly completely transfixed on what I was hearing. From my perspective, other than not hearing music quite like that before, DOOM’s deep and gruff voice is very similar to those of the men in my family so I found his voice inviting if that makes sense. Seeing how intrigued I was my cousin put on MM..FOOD for me and I’ve been a fan ever since. This cousin also introduced me to Aesop Rock earlier and me at about 4/5 years old about drove him half crazy asking him to play “the Lucy song” repeatedly lol.

I think it's also super convenient that basically every notable ghost sighting is before we had modern technology like cameras or flashlights
