Rapan is a traditional fishing technique practiced around Konkan coast of Maharashtra. Fishermen sail into deep sea with a huge fishing net and spade it such that it forms a U-shape wall in the sea. Early morning, they haul it manually with wooden poles. It takes a collective effort to pull out the net. Many beaches in south Konkan offer a glimpse into this fascinating practice and community way of life.
