Lil Kim was SOOOOO pretty! I wish she truly could have seen herself as she was! She was petite, cute face, beautiful skin. I wish she should have seen it. Lil Kim, Aaliyah, Da Brat, Missy and Mary J Blige were my ultimate black girl hair and fashion icons when I came of age in the 90s (name a more iconic quintet… I’ll wait 🤣) . It seemed like back then the emphasis was much more on playfulness than perfection. Oh, how I wish Kim could see how utterly amazing she was - her bold persona and the cheeky sparkle in her eyes made her more beautiful than any surgery (which I’m not against in principle, but we can agree we’ve seen diminishing returns). Oh well, we’ll always have THAT purple catsuit, which remains undefeated 💜

That's why I love the long KZreadr's videos (Part 1 & 2) that covers the obsession Nicki had with Lil Kim. Very detailed...pictures say 1,000 words. The comment section showed that some of Nicki's fans were finally seeing just how much Nicki copied to the point they recognized it was scary and creepy. From the fashion, picture poses, and lyrics. I mean she was even trying to pose with a kangaroo like Kim did. It made some of the Barbs admit Lil' Kim was the original rapper Barbie who Nicki modeled her entire career from.

Till this day people refuse to give Lil'Kim her flowers she is THE GOAT! she did every trend that we are still doing now!,she did first, many fashion designers had Lil'Kim as their muse, she was always ahead of her time. The reason why everyone started to hate her was simply bc of her nose jobs and skin lightening which isnt even her fault, she was compared to Faith evans who is light as hell and was constantly mocked of her black features and dark skin, its not her fault that she got rid of what she was made to believe was ugly, everyone does this to black women and she is not to blame, rather than reminding her how beautiful she is everyone laughs, horrible. Kim will always be the no1 female rapper.

The kids these days will NEVER understand how outstandingly rare it was to see a hood girl be high fashion and a rapper. A REAL hood girl at that. Not just someone portraying a gangsta girl. The reason Kim’s era of ppl will never fully embrace Nicki is because WE KNOW! Nicki STOLE her entire persona and ran with it. Then had the nerve to be disrespectful. Exactly! I’m 31 and clearly remember the Lil’Kim era and loved it! Especially because we share the same name. I’m old enough to remember the impact she had before Nicki Minaj came along and jacked her style. I remember the first time I saw Nicki’s “squat down” pics from her first hit “Itty Bitty Piggy” and though “damn! Didn’t Kim do this??” Then to see how nasty she was to Kim when she came up made me dislike her even more.
