Every album is different and to me their first 7 albums 1972-1980 are all superb. Their 8th album won the best album grammy in 2000. Aja (pronounced asia) was one of the records that audio equipment stores used to demonstrate the clarity and stereo speaker quality. Considered one of the best engineered albums. Chuck Rainey on the bass most of this album (minus "Deacon Blues"). Guy is an absolute genius musician. All the musicians on this album were incredible, but there is a reason Chuck was asked to play on so many of their tracks when they were bringing in studio musicians. No one lays down a bass like like he does!

This whole album is pure fire!! Great reaction to one of my favs, thanks!! They brought in 40 session musicians to produce this album!! Back in the day people, normally guys, had what was called a "little black book" where possible hook up's were kept.

Yep. I know Black Cow can mean other things but in the context of this Steely Dan song I am certain they are talking about a drink with alcohol in it
