Музыка

Let's have some fun together and join our Facebook group This Is It Media by clicking the link groups/69818...
"Black Cow" is a song by the American rock band Steely Dan, released on their 1977 album "Aja." The song was written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, the core members of Steely Dan. "Black Cow" is renowned for its smooth jazz-rock fusion sound and intricate musical arrangements, characteristic of Steely Dan's style.
The lyrics of "Black Cow" tell a story of heartbreak and longing, with themes of betrayal and disillusionment. The titular "black cow" refers to a mixed drink made with Kahlua and milk, which serves as a metaphor for seeking solace in alcohol after a failed relationship.
Musically, "Black Cow" features a sophisticated blend of jazz, rock, and R&B elements, including intricate guitar work, smooth saxophone solos, and intricate harmonies. The song's production is meticulous, with attention to detail in both the instrumentation and the mixing process.
Overall, "Black Cow" is a standout track in Steely Dan's discography, showcasing their unique blend of musical craftsmanship and lyrical storytelling. It remains a fan favorite and a classic example of the band's iconic sound. In recent history, Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz turned the beat into a hip hop anthem!

Frank Zappa said, "Jazz isn’t dead, it just smells funny." For those folks that can’t get a grip on jazz, The Dan delivers the goods with an admixture replete with R&B, Afro Cuban rhythms, Rock&Roll, etc that seduces the listeners to succumb to the gravity of jazz, like tides obey the moon. One becomes a lover of jazz without knowing it. Like those that don’t care for classical music, but have been moved to tears by it when watching those movies that employ the classical as soundtracks.

Steely Dan is the probably the best bands of all time. They meshed and spanned Jazz/Soul/Rock Fusion with some of the greatest players of the day in the studio. There is barely a song that you will skip on any of their albums. They are timeless, and got regular play on the radio when they came out and for decades and are still covered by Big Bands, funk bands, jazz bands, rock and acoustic players.

I played it to death BUT I still have that same album, and it sounds great because some of us treated our records like gold... carefully handling them, keeping the turntable stylus balanced and in pristine shape, cleaning the vinyl with special cloth, etc.. Steely Dan is Donald Fagen and Walter Becker ~ if you look at the info on the musicians playing, they'll be different for every song. They recruited only the best musicians to play with them, They are my favorite band of all time. I was very fortunate to see them in 1972 in Chicago, I was 16. They were not the headliner ~ they opened for the band, The Guess Who. There are no bad Steely Dan songs ~ enjoy!
