Baizhu’s actual red-flag is how self-sacrificial he is. Like, I’m a huge Baizhu simp, and I think the other aspects of his personality would make him a great partner to me, but that’s the one thing that I think would cause friction. And as was stated in the video, he withholds information sometimes, which would feed into him lying about how much he’s really struggling physically.

I agree, and I think that in a relationship he would be come very co-dependent. I don't think it'd be intentional or malicious, like he wouldn't be consciously manipulating you into staying; he would just be so overly concerned with your well-being and upset with anything dangerous you'd do that he'd put himself through emotional hell way too often, which wouldn't be good for either person.

So true!, he chose to still make a contract with Changsheng not for himself but for Her to not die and he'd rather suffer temporarily if it means he can save a life. I get! he's a doctor but if I was his partner I would be so hurt and worried all the time wondering when he'll die

Diluc may have issues, but he's not a sweetie deep down. He's a sweetie practically on the surface. Being blunt and sarcastic and treating Kaeya coldly doesn't define his personality. He is overall very considerate, he's a great and generous boss who his subordinates all love, he's protective but not overly so, he has a rigid sense of morality, and he uses his free time to defend the innocent. He is such a green flag. His trauma might make him mid, but he would be a great partner.

Yeah, mine partner is too, except not as bookish. But his bluntness is SUCH a green flag for me, one of my favourite aspects of him. And if I tell him clearly what I need when I’m emotional, he knows what to do and all is good. I don’t think he’d work for a lot of people, though. Same with Ahaitham. I don’t think that kind of person works well with people who communicate through subtlety.

Same here, but I honestly think the fact that my partner did not just assume he knows what to do, and instead asked and learned is the reason why we're still going strong after 5+ years. People who know they suck at understanding others are often the ones most willing to learn how to act in certain situations in my experience, because asking and being given a "guidebook" in a way is reassuring for them, so it can balance out great. If everyone is able to properly communicate those needs, ofc

It was a fun video but I honestly kinda feel like you didn't do Barbara justice: She is supposed to be an innocent and very religious girl who wants the best for everyone. She is not the ultimate green flag but she not a red-ish flag either. Its so out of character for her to be a passive aggresive bully... Not quite my cup of tea in terms of the types of characters I like, she might be one of the characters I like the least, but that doesn’t mean I actively dislike her. I think they missed the mark on her personality in this video.

So far I agree with just about everything here! The only thing I'd say is that I think Alhaitham wouldn't just sit and stare the entire time, at some point he'd get up to find a book on whatever it is you're going through and start flipping pages to find more information on the mechanics of it and how to address it. "Oh no, they're expressing difficulty with their trauma... there is a copy of 'The Body Keeps Score' around here somewhere, let me get it so I can cross-reference..."

I know for sure Wanderer is a walking (flying) red flag. Even though he's my main, he's the reddest of them all 😅

I feel like on the outside he is, but on the inside he has a part of him that truly cares. For example, in the sumeru archon quest Wanderer fought the scaramouche puppet and saved traveler (the scene where he got his vision). So I think he isn’t completely a red flag, he’s just more ignorant and distant than others.

Al-Haitham is such a mixed bag because when you feel down I think he immediately notices, but waits to see if you figure your problems out for yourself. If not, he might give you some blunt comments you don't want to hear, but the longer you reflect on them, the more you realise he's actually right. Which might piss one off quite a bit. However, I think he does care in his own way. He was the one who noticed Kaveh's facade and how bad he was truly doing and then he was also the same person who listened the entire time of him venting. He doesn't want you to feel bad, but he wants you to see where the problem lies. So basically Al-Haitham is the person who forces you to confront yourself, but will show his own type of care, by for example giving you a key to his house lol. Or just sitting next to you on a couch reading, saying he can sit whereever he wants, yet in truth he wants to comfort you with his presence. So yeah, definitely mixed. Especially considering that if you manage to annoy him, he'll probably say stuff like "Oh well, it wasn't me who was crying about my problems a few days ago."😭

I'm so confused with their Alhaitham, wasn't he so respectful towards Dehya and Nilou after introductions? like Alhaitham believes in Dehya's potential so much. This is guy who values a person's mind and personality more than anything else.

Okay c'mon Barbara deserves to be in the green-ish flag category. Only not 100% green flag because she's a people pleaser, but she's NOT a bully. Also, put my girl Ganyu in green-ish as well 😭

Collei kinda has some red flags tbh. During the bottle wonderland event, though possibly unintentional she has made pretty passive-aggressive comments multiple times. 😅 She’s sweet but when she’s angry or annoyed she tends to take it out in a kinda savage way. 😂

Honestly Kazuha, as charming as he is, is kind of a redflag since he has tendency to just run away or ignore problems and relies solely on his gut feeling on how to approach his life. The type of dude who will one day leave for milk and disappear forever. And then send you an apolegetic poetry mail 5 years later.

Hm I don‘t really see it that way, what you describe is a normal character flaw. Taking it to an extreme obviously would be a red flag but Kazuha has never been shown to be prone for extremes so I don‘t think he‘d just leave for no reason just because of a character flaw (everyone has them), especially considering his loyalty to his friend, confronting the shogun, a literal GOD for him and fighting a war he did not have to be involved in since he‘d already fled the country. But he came back because it‘s the right thing to do. Kazuha is very much defined by his morals and values, much more than by his status as a refugee.

bro im ngl, this is going to sound so dumb but in a really emotionally difficult period of trying to get over someone like that, after randomly stewing on this topic I came to the conclusion Kazuha was a man of green flags and an inspiration for things to look for in future partners. This could be me projecting on him from that, but based on his story bits and dialogue, he seems very keen and attentive to others, he mentions he's a good listener if nothing else - I both totally see what you mean and feel he wouldn't do that simply due to being more conscious about how others feel. He says himself that he prefers frank people, so he gave me the vibe (personally) that he'd communicate where he's at before doing something drastic IF he was with someone. But im you pointing this out gave me an instant "oh NO" reaction lmao 😭

3:02 about alhaitham handling emotions, i am autistic and however it sounds like he is probably the chara i most relate to, skipping all other reasons one of autistic struggles, or should I say traits, is not understanding emotions or someone's intent, being very straightforward, not very good at lying, or not being able to read severity or lightness of someone's words. But the emotions apply to oneself too, we also often have a problem with describing how we feel, or helping comfort others. Obviously since its nowhere in canon and just my personal opinion hes on the spectrum, so it is yet another speculation playing into that, I suppose.

I feel like she's naive to the extent where she might sometimes say something hurtful without meaning to, but I would (weirdly enough) put her on the same level as Alhaitham when it comes to "doesn't really understand people's emotions, but tries their best (for the person they love)." Beidou is kinda red flags, but I like red so yes please! Candace is the "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles!" girlfriend, even when in reality you're embarrassed to death and you'd rather just eat the pickles than deal with the embarrassment.

And im juat thinking that theres no way that Collei came out of eleazar unchanged. Unsure if thats flag worthy, but its stuff i recognize in myself and relate to this character about. Edit: y'know, after a shower, I'm realizing that this detail about collei makes her more of a green flag for me, because I can relate to her in a rare way. Collei is perfect and I love her

I mean I‘m unsure if you read the manga but Collei legitimately killed a person (on accident) and then wandered Mondstadt trying to not be found out. Only after Amber showed her kindness and gained her trust she started to let go of her attitude at the time, which mostly consisted of being rude, pushing everyone away and being scared of everything and anything (including herself). BUT i don‘t consider that a red flag either considering how much progress we can see she made in just ONE year (tbh imo it has to have been at least 2-3 years but. i cant change canonical info even if it would be more logical). Her in-game personality is soo different from back when she was still living with the curse she got from Dotorre‘s treatment and its heartwarming to witness

Keqing is honestly more of a red flag than Jean and Ganyu. Think about it. Those two may be workaholics, but at least they don't force their lifestyle onto other people. Keqing actively gets on other people's cases for not having her work ethic.

ITTO IS A RED FLAG. He's always broke, he's always going to jail, Shinobu is always bailing him out, he's allergic to soy beans, and he is loud as hell. His pros don't outweigh his cons.

Bro?? Albedo literally said he could destroy Mond, he’s mid at best. And Barbara is a literal saint, she’s literally the greenest flag in this entire game. Full agreement. I've never been a Kaeya fan but whether you love him or hate him, you can't deny that he's someone who you absolutely cannot trust. I know Kaeya's had it rough, too, but he strikes me as more of a self-serving person, while I literally would trust Diluc with my life at any time.@@youtubesnitch6514

How TF is Barbara not ultimate green flag? She is actually so pure that I would worry something bad will happen to her. Also, Ayato and Diluc are green for sure. I think no one would protect you like they do. Just watch how much Ayato takes care of Ayaka. And Diluc basically protects Monsdtat just because he is that good. He is a great boss and good guy. At the very worst they are Mid. But there is no way they are below Fischl or Beidou. Or even Bennet, since his bad lick would be pretty terrible after a while.
