And the same number one as well 🤘🏻
Great band, love Spiral Shadow and Ultraviolet as well! There are doing some initiatives connected with merch etc but it looks like there is some hint of reunion coming… keeping fingers crossed
Another great discovery thanks to SoT
Love Kylesa! Lived in Savannah back in the day! Thanks Pete!
Love this band! Glad to see you rank them. Saw them live when Spiral Shadow was just out and they were absolutely incredible. They had a trippy light show goin' and the double drummers in person really hit hard. It's been a while since I did a deep dive but off the top of my head I would rank them: 1) Static Tensions 2) Spiral Shadow 3) Time Will Fuse It's Worth 4) Exhausting Fire 5) To Walk A Middle Course 6) Kylesa 7) Ultraviolet The top three are definitely my favorite. The rest could really be in any order and I like them all.
Pete love that you bring up her Blondie-esq vocals - if you haven’t check out her other project The Discussion a great new-wave nod and her bass playing is fantastic!

Really looking forward to the Discussion full length LP, her single "Deathtripper" was brilliant. Loved the last Kylesa album and tour, esp. "Shaping the Southern Sky."
I caught this band live once, playing with Blood Ceremony. They were really good and heavy, but for whatever reason, I don't think I ended up checking out any of their albums. Thanks for doing this one.
Love that you did this one 😊 One of my favourite newer band. I also think your ranking was good, all though I find it hard to distinguish them from each other (you did a good work). I was a little bit suprised that Kylesa was mentioned on SoT, but happy for it. I'm also happy that you liked them almost as much as I do 😃
Been listening to Kylesa since 05. They have some HEAVYYY material! Two drummers for a lot of it. Anyway, great band. 👍 Highly recommend
This band was a really big deal for me in the mid 00s, alongside Baroness, Mastodon, Yob, Torche etc. I really liked their combination of influences, with the added psych touches as they progressed. I think their peak for me was around the 3rd and 4th albums. I'd have Static Tensions as no. 1 with Time Will Fuse its Worth as strong runner up. No bad albums though. I also liked Philip Cope's previous band Damad, but they were a lot crustier and raw. All that late 90s sludge/hardcore/crust punk, colliding with stoner and psych or "post-metal" really kept me going with heavy music at the time. Neurosis, Today is the Day, Acid Bath, Melvins, Isis, Annihilation Time, Tragedy....so many great things leading directly to the Mastodon, Baroness, Kykesa era.
Great band, really enjoyed this👍
cool i saw them open for High oN fire years ago
Thanks for the ranking, Pete.
Thanks for this ranking. I was late to this band, been listening for a few years now, and I think they are great.
John Baizley from Baroness is the artist for Static Tensions.
Thanks Pete - another band i never heard of
Hey pete. I would love to see a video were you point out some "stolen" riffs or solos or vocal melodies etc in songs. So a band who copied a part from a song by somebody else. example: Iron Maiden - Wicker Man = Judas Priest - Running Wild
You missed the from the vaults album! I love Kylesa , seen them a heap of times.
Very good band.
RANK KRAFTWERK ALBUMS NEXT PLS LOVE UR CHANNEL
