Talking absolute shite, played less than 70mins in the whole World Cup and was the 1st subbed off in basically every game of the euros. David Silva had 10 seasons in the prem, in the first team and never had an off-season. Kept himself to himself, never negative press or interviews. Just pure beautiful football. 10 years without ever dropping form for me is top 5. I feel like these lists suffer from looking at the past with rose tinted glasses. Silva was world class.

collective achievement is the most important thing, the whole point of playing football is to win trophies, that is what players only care about. It's a Premier league debate. Gerrard won nothing. Great player, loyal and determined. But as a Premier League player, underachieved. In my opinion KDB is already #1... He's already played 9 seasons. The longevity argument is mute in my opinion. His records speaks for itself. KDB 249 app 65 goals (0.26) 106 assists (0.43) 4 penalties Scholes 499 app 107 goals (0.21) 55 assists (0.11) 0 penalties Gerrard 504 app 120 goals (0.24) 92 assists (0.18) 29 penalties Lampard 609 app 177 goals (0.29) 102 assists (0.17) 32 penalties I don't see how KDB is not #1 if you've watched both eras, you'd comfortably say KDB is by far the most talented out of the bunch, and his stats back that up. His goal ratio is better than Lampard's (without the penalties), and his assists ratio completely smashes the others, he's assists ratio is better than anyone in premier league history, and actually puts alot of great to shame. Scholes in my opinion is clear 2nd, he might not be as good as Lampard and Gerrard in terms of explosiveness and headline grabbing, but he did things with the ball that neither Gerrard or Lampard can do, that makes him so good. Gerrard is a very close 3rd, out of the 4 he's the only one that can single handedly drag his team to a win. The other 3 needed their team mates. But can Gerrard control a game like Scholes? no. Can he pass the ball like Scholes? no. Lampard i think is undoubtedly #4 without any debate. He's not as talented as the other 3, his goals statistics were impressive, but like Gerrard so many were penalties. His goal ratio down to 0.23 without penalties, same for Gerrard 0.18 without penalties. Both Lampard and Gerrard had better statistics than Scholes because they didn't have Giggs and Beckham contributing just as much. You would find Gerrard's and Lampard's team mates won't have anywhere near as good statistics as Scholes' team mates. Beckham 265 app 62 goals (0.23) 80 assists (0.30) which shared alot of the creativity of a team. Anyways, sometimes statistics clearly don't represent the full story, if you watch the game and understand the game, I don't think you would say Gerrard or Lampard above KDB and even Scholes. Neither were anywhere near as talented.

Gerrard is an absolute legend of the game.

I don’t think he’s disrespected, there’s just a lot of other very high level people to compare him against.

Giggs had to be on that list considering he was left mid and his numbers speak for itself even if it were the lower half, he needed to be on there and I'm not even a United fan. As for the top 2 I have KDB ahead of Gerrard in Vision/Passing, but Gerrard beats him in every other department... Gerrard was a one man midfield defending, controlling, attacking his work rate was also double that of KDB who looks gassed most matches and as mentioned was all done while playing with a bang average squad, he really had to be everywhere in a game and didn't have the luxury of having top players behind him to allow him to focus just on attacking... Gerrard was 3 players in 1.

It's hard to know this for sure, because he didn't have the luxury of being able to just do one thing like your other mentioned names, he basically had to be 3 players in 1 and was constantly moving covering defending, controlling, then attacking he was the most complete all round midfielder. KDB's vision/passing is exceptional but he is lucky to have a fantastic back line to allow him to coast and catch his breath when not attacking as he gets gassed if he exerts himself too much.... Gerrard didn't have that luxury he was end to end, then still having to be creative while running on fumes. Gerrard>>>>>>>>>>> Kdb>>>Scholes>>>>Silva>> Lampard then the rest.@@naumaanhamid

Kante is awesome but just didn’t have the aura of Fernandinho.. ferna is just also my favourite type of player that can just effortlessly switch between 25 yard screamers, 30 yard switches and then towards the end of a game geniously break up play with clever interceptions tackles and my favourite part, awesome professional fouls. Probably biased as he’s my favourite player of all time but that’s the fun part of footballing opinions haha

You can't be the greatest midfielder of all time without winning the premier league. Don't bring he played for a weaker team. Ngolo Kante won the premier league with Leicester and he had only Mahrez and Vardy with him. Whereas Steven Gerrard had prime Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso and still failed to win it.

Nah, Gerrard did everything defend ,control ,attack and was like having 3 players on the pitch especially with how average his squads were, KDB has him beat in vision/passing no doubt but that's where it ends, he is also lucky to have such an amazing squad that he can coast when he needs to as he more often than not gassed when he has to exert himself too much. I have KDB quite a bit off of Gerrard and that isn't hating on KDB cause I think he is absolutely incredible.

No one ponders that IF KDB was in that Liverpool he would have won them a PL and more trophies. It's always the other way round and based on NOTHING. No one can talk about his ability compared to De Bruyne.

It's just disrespectful to even suggest such. What is the point of the competition if not to show who is the best? You can be the heartbeat of the best team in the land for 2 decades, but be seen as lower than a player in a team that never won it. Obviously there is leeway for exceptional players, but this is way too far. Kante carried Leicester to a title in his first season (a team that nearly got relegated the previous season), but I'm supposed to believe Gerrard was some tortured soul who simply couldn't win with paupers like Alonso, Reina, Carragher, Torres, Mascherano etc.

This is all debatable and matter of opinion, I dont see the point in some people in the comments arguing about it, they were all great at the end of the day. Just depends on who you prefer. Given that neither of the people deciding the list in the video are Liverpool fans and put Gerrard at number one speaks volumes for Gerrard though.

Look at the age of that guy and girl. At most that guy is 36 and the girl is less than 30. So none of them watched or could understand football until maybe 97-98. For the girl maybe from 2006-7

Kante is easily top 5 midfielders in the prem. Look at how every manager has spoken of him. Literally 2 players in one.

There are more successful midfielders than Gerrard, but pound for pound he is the best PL midfielder.

Cesc Fabregas is criminally underrated. He is better than Silva, Scholes and Yaya. The guy gave his prime to Barca and yet have more assist than all of them above him in the list. He has also had 6 seasons with 10+ assists, showing how consistent he really were.

This once again shows why Michael Carrick is my pick for the most underrated Premier league footballer of all time. Did not even get a mention.

He played in the Prem longer than Makelele, Xabi Alonso, Essien, Gundogan etc but those players were better. Doesn't mean Carrick wasn't an amazing player but he definitely doesn't crack the top 10 considering those players didn't make it. Probably just makes it in the top 15.

The way to look at it is which player at their peak would be first on the team sheet of an ultimate XI. For me it’s De Bruyne followed by Vieira/Gerrard/Scholes about equal.

As a chelsea fan, ive witnessed Gerrard era. He was unbelievable in every play style. He can attack, assist and defend. I think theres one time again Ac Milan where Gerrard had to play as a defender. Strong leadership too. His duo time with Torres was every team's nightmare i guess🤣its rare to see a player like him. The closes one maybe Bellingham

The number 10 was a deeper striker back then and played in a front 2. Along with the wingers, the 10 would get the most assists, not the much deeper 8.

Gerrard had loyalty to one club. De Bruyne plays for a sportswashing club accused of 115 rule breaches. Let's put this to rest already. Loyalty in football is dead, but the legacy of those that were loyal will always live on.
