That point about "This might attract new players to monk while chasing off the old players" is exactly the problem with XIV's Job design decisions. They REALLY need to stop designing Jobs for people that don't play them in the first place, and design them for the people who are enjoying playing them. There are now 21 Jobs with DT, and they already removed the Cross Class system for people who didn't want to play other Jobs. Surely they can find something they enjoy without destroying Jobs for the people who love them.

A lot of what gets NINs excited is mechanical. Not having to maintain Huton is a big one. There is already enough complexity in the mudras that adding a maintenance buff that could easily just be passive is excessive. They even give you an attack that automatically applies Huton at level 60 (Huraijin), because it's like even the devs realize it adds nothing but one more thing to manage in an already stacked job.

As a NIN main the job flowed really well when first starting the job almost 8 years ago mudras were daunting and a lot more jank would be the right way to explain it but it becomes muscle memory very quickly the opener and burst is busy but outside of it it does some of the lowest damage due to not having much it worries me not being able to manage huton to me it was fun thinking about if I needed to reapply in some fights to opti damage in savage/ulti just hope they fill in that empty space with something fun and engaging

@@tacotuesdays3336 the new kunai system seems to be a way to make the NIN more viable dealing dmg outside of the burst window. Of course, we won't know more until the media tour NDA gets lifted, or a NIN main does a deep dive when Dawntrail launches.

@@natebroadus8474 it is but it doesn't really change a ton on what they do outside of burst current speculation is aeolian spends 2 kunai as a buffed version of it in terms of potency perhaps hopefully it is more than that outside of their burst give me something else to manage if huton is gone

Here's how my personal tiers would go, based solely on first impressions, and before the Media Tour embargo lifts. For simplicity, each Job in a tier is ordered by trailer appearance: S: MCH, VPR, WHM, PCT, GNB A: DRG, PLD, WAR, SGE, BLM, MNK, SCH B: AST, RDM, RPR, NIN, DRK, SAM C: DNC, BRD D: SMN Solar Bahamut is cool and all, but the SMN Job presentation felt lacking to me, sadly.

I’m very excited for my Dragoon changes. The new animations for some of the abilities are amazing. The one thing I’m not a fan of is how most of the classes new (finisher attack) is basically just a reskin of each others big slam attack lol. A stand out would be Red mage’s portal sword attack. They could have been more original with them.

As a PLD main and NIN as my go to secondary, i've always done PLD as my MSQ playthrough, I may switch and do NIN as my first MSQ playthrough!

Dragoon = B Tier, Paladin (My main Tank) = B Tier, Warrior = A Tier, Astro = A Tier, Dancer (My main R Deeps) = A Tier, Reaper = S Tier, Red Mage (Main M Deeps) = C Tier, Machinist = C Tier, Ninja = A Tier, Sage = A Tier, Black Mage = C Tier, Viper (Going to be my Main) S= Tier, White Mage (My main Healer) = C Tier, Monk = A Tier, Dark Knight = B Tier, Bard = C Tier, Summoner (Was my main M Range, but for DT i hate that new summon, HATE IT!!!), = D Tier, Samurai (Currently Main Melee) = A Tier, Scholar = A Tier, Pictomancer = S Tier, Gunbreaker = A Tier. I may not agree with your tier list but great Video non the less, thank you so much for it and entertaining us. Look forward to your next one.

As a Paladin main to the core due to loving knights and reading about them as a boy, I'm biased to Paladin's new stuff however I feel like what makes the job look a bit boring is its Gladiator skills and low level skills looking SO boring like I generally think my AOE combo looks so dull and they could have done with making them look more holy and powerful then just some simple sword swings, I also hate our idle stance the way we flop our arms about slowly just looks so dumb to me. At least we have wings and our blades combo...

Wish I had a link to the tier list you used I would love to make my own using just the job stones but all the ones I find have the character model too

I would like to see options to change the coulours of the skills, so many of them are too bright, flash-blinding.

I main between Paladin, DrK and GB and I have for a few years now. And of course they are the most meh classes on this list. Super sad face here. I might just have to finish leveling my 37 Warrior now just so I can look cool.

I do think Paladin is the job that makes you feel like you're really tanking and protecting everyone. Even though I prefer the Warrior because I am invincible with it in higher contents ahah. Dancer is the weakest dps but it's just fun, it helps the other jobs boost their dps and it's a true pack killer. As for Astro, I am just happy to be able to heal with style so it gets an automatic S in my book ! Great video, thanks :)

tbh. how i would generally rate it overall: PLD: C Tier; nothing too new but overall solid WAR: B Tier, DRK: C+ Tier, GNB: A Tier, lionheart combo is cool, and potentially kills 2.5 gnb as a viable sks. WHM: C tier, SCH: B+ tier; main gripe is seraphisim's costume clashes with everything else the job is appearance and thematically. AST: A+ tier SGE: D tier; same as PLD, nothing really new but moreso. DRG: B tier; I'm leaning to liking the rework since they largely kept the good stuff DRG already had. RPR: D+ tier; cool new animations, not a lot else. MNK: C+ tier; most of the mnk changes really come from the system changes, but also new elixer field is a major downgrade. SAM: C tier, NIN: S tier; just a lot of ability changes that makes it more ninja than before plus huton > hide prepull is dead VPR: S tier; looks cool, will need to see overall rotation stuff on release tho. its probs the new class I'll level first. BRD: B+ tier; lots of good background changes moreso than actions that fix the issues of EW BRD, make bloodletter get a full stack for mages proc then it would be an A tier. MCH: A tier; just visually cool actions DNC: D tier BLM: B tier. non standard BLM is dead from ice tick changes, otherwise, lots of good stuff esp with fire paradox now being instant. SMN: F tier; DT changes leaves so much more to be desired given how barebones the class is currently. RDM: D tier; might go up to C if theres more reason to use over SMN, PIC: B+ tier.

chill lol we don't even have the details on balancing yet, this is about the job action trailer. They also change a lot through the expansion, look at tank balancing on Abyssos vs. current tanks.
