My dad been working at WDW for 25 years so we had the luxury of visiting the parks at any time. Witnessing the Thrill ride explosion during the Eisner Era was truly insane and Disney really pulled out all the stops. I appreciate them for that.

You should do a video discussing what every theme park in Florida should get for there next roller coaster for ride. Like Busch gardens in Tampa and all the universal, Disney, sea world, and the fun spots

My ride on Space Mountain back in April, 2013 was nuts. I got the back row, and I felt every bit of the airtime back there.

My daughter marathoned Goofy Barnstormer when they opened it. 19 rides in a row. It used to have a barn that it flew through. Also, best time to ride Thundermountain is at night during the fireworks.

My son and I just marathoned Barnstormer last month! 56 minutes straight but probably just as many as you guys. It's hilarious to find another parent who did this! 😄Thank goodness my son's favorite ride is a walk on basically from park open to close

I remember going to world for the first time. I was a huge fan of everything Disney. The ride I was most hyped for was expedition Everest, which broke down for an hour, and I wasn’t the only person in my group, so we park hopped. One of the saddest-happy moments I have ever had.

Fun lore fact about Expedition Everest, the mountain the coaster travels through is The Forbidden Mountain, not Everest. From the guest pathway, Everest's peak is depicted to the right of the show building via forced perspective. The story of the ride is that you're on a journey through the Forbidden Mountain on the way to Everest Base Camp and the Yeti stops your journey through his turf.

Ah ha. Well it fooled me

The right (omega) side of space mountain is on another level compared to the left for absolutely no reason. It’s usually only accessable for lightning lanes now though so not everyone gets to experience it But I’ve personally never been as high on everest as everyone else seems to be. Like it’s a fun enough ride and everything but I’d take big thunder, space, rock n roller coaster and cosmic rewind over it any day

Yeah, its incredibly stupid. I rode it 5 times I think during my trip, and the only time I got to ride the right side was at resort guest only hours after lightning lanes stopped being sold.....

@@justiceleaguebattleformetr9239 From my experience... no, its all genie plus. HOWEVER, if you go when the park is open till 1AM, they just trey evening it out. This was in March of this year, and it was jam packed, so it may have changed since I went.

Rock n will always be my number 1. It was the first major coaster I ever rode and the music and theming really stuck with me. Yes it may not be as flashy or impressive as a lot of other Disney rides but what it manages to pack into that little off the shelf layout accompanied by the music and visuals is really fun. I got front row on my first ever ride when I was 6 and that launch blew me away as I’d never seen a roller coaster do that before.

Having ridden Slinky Dog Dash a few times in different seats, I can say I got the best airtime towards the middle of the train, oddly enough. I definitely wear my nostalgia glasses when riding it, but I think the theming for the queue and ride itself is top notch. There are lots of little things to find, including at least one hidden Mickey. I don't know if I would put it at the top for all of that, but I would definitely have it further up the list. I'm also one of the very few people that misses the spinning coaster in Dinoland USA! I got to ride the Guardians coaster last week and it was very impressive.

Absolutely love Expedition Everest! Nice to see other people think so highly of it as well

On both of my trips to Walt Disney World, Animal Kingdom happened to be the first park we visited and I rode Expedition Everest early in the day, so I kind of think of it as the unofficial kickoff ride now. When you take a ride on Everest you know you're really at Disney World.

Haven't been since pre covid, so I haven't been on rewind but outside of that I fully agree with your ranking

My rankings: 8. Barnstormer- I first rode it back in 1996 when Storybook Circus was Mickey's Toontown Fair. I loved it back then partly thanks to it's cool flyby through the barn facade it had. My sister and I recently rode it back in June and it was still cute but not nearly as good as it once was. 7. Slinky Dog Dash- if I had to pick between either this or Barnstormer, I would choose this again in a heartbeat. It is one of the better family coasters I had ever been on. It is a lot fun. 6. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train- this ride is cute and fun. Just not worth the huge wait times it gets (this where Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane are worth their weight in gold). 5. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- This ride has a very special place in my heart. The Disneyland version was my very first roller coaster (when I was around 4 years old) but the Disney World version is the one that told my fear of roller coasters to permanently get lost when I was 12. 4. Space Mountain- this is almost identical to Matterhorn (Disneyland's back breaker) but I do like the trains better here than on Matterhorn (I have long legs and I found only seats 1 and 4 to be comfortable on Matterhorn where I just recently rode Space Mountain at Disney World in seat 2 and found it to be pretty comfortable). 3. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster- I love this ride. I could seriously ride it multiple times if I had the chance. It has a good theme and story to go with it. 2. Expedition Everest- another ride I could ride multiple times if I had the chance. The theme is awesome and I love that part of it goes backwards. 1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind- it was so much fun to rock out to Disco Inferno, September, and I Ran on this ride; each time I rode it, the combination of the omni-vehicles with the backwards over that turn felt like going it was going upside down (for those who are wondering, no there are no inversions on the ride); and the pre-show is one of the best ones I have seen (loved Terry Crews).

Space Mountain (in the back) and Guardians are my two favorites at the resort.

I managed to go on every Magic Kingdom ride and attraction on the day I visited on my trip to Orlando 3 years back. Managed to cheese the flashpass system to do it, and also went on Thunder Mountain twice and Space Mountain 3 times (though only used the fastpass system for those rides once). One of my Space Mountain rides was in the front seat which was great, and my Seven Dwarves ride was in the back seat but the 3 hour line was absolutely not worth it so now that I have that credit that's one ride I'll never go on again. My second ride on Thunder Mountain also happened during the fireworks which was certainly an experience. My ranking is: 1. Space Mountain 2. Thunder Mountain 3. Seven Dwarves 4. Barnstormer My best friend also went to Animal Kingdom about a decade ago, he was very lucky because it was predicted that a storm would hit that day and it didn't, so the crowds where so small he not only went on every ride there in a day but did Everest 13 times in the span of about 2 hours. I wouldn't have believed him if he didn't have photographic evidence that he did it.

Went to the one in Paris and all the coasters were epic. Most of their coasters loop and some are super intense (indiana jones the most). My favourite coaster there was hyperspace mountain and the weird inversion it has

I agree about Slinky as a ride being lame, but the theming was awesome. I had a knex amusement park when I was a kid so it really hit close to home.

I agree with the girls ranking of #5 for Slinky Dog. While it might not be the most thrilling the theming just puts a massive smile on my face which brings it up above seven dwarves.

That is exactly how I would rank the coasters at Disney World. I was excited to get a rain ride on Everest. For the dark rides and motion simulators, Tower of Terror has been bumped down to number three after Rise of the Resistance and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. I’d also put Millennium Falcon over it, but only if you’re one of the pilots. If you’re a gunner or engineer, it’s not going to be as fun.

It's unfortunate that the giant animatronic that was supposed to be Expedition Everest's great finale showpiece hasn't worked since the first few months of operation (that strobe light is just a substitute--the giant yeti was supposed to reach out and try to grab the train), but the ride is strongly themed enough that the total experience is still great. It's not super intense, really just a bare notch above Big Thunder for thrills, but the backwards helix in the dark does give you some strong positives. I think it's interesting that so many people will swear to you up and down that the ride goes upside down in that section (it does not).

Nice ranking! Personally my favorite coaster at WDW is Space Mountain. I haven’t been for a few years though, and that was back in my gp days. I prefer Universal because it has a better ride collection in general. Velo is just so amazing 🤩

Haven’t been on Cosmic Rewind but my rankings for all the other 7 ones are 1. Rock N Roller Coaster 2. Everest 3. Space Mountain 4. Big thunder 5. Seven Dwarfs 6. Slinky Dog Dash 7. Barnstormer

Great vid and spot on rankings. Space Mountain reminds me of Tropicana Field with the shape of the roof, angle and everything. Did you ever feel that vibe?? All I know is the best attraction at Disney is the Pinapple Whip cone by Dole and them Rays know how to wheel and deal, great drafters and amazing at trading, Arozerana from STL, nuff said. Expedition Everest is the Top ride at all the Kingdoms, no doubt. My next 4 best rides though is Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise.

The more I ride Cosmic Rewind the more I love it, the more I ride it the more it moves up in my rankings. A night ride on Everest, when they are open late enough to get one is so fun.

I honestly can’t wait to get back out to this park later this year! I’ve always wanted to get back out specifically for Cosmic Rewind but hopefully Tron will be open for me My rankings go: 1. Space Mountain 2. Big Thunder Mountain 3. Barnstormer

Space Mountain has some fantastic airtime in the back. I got some rides during the Christmas event last year, and I swear the breaks were off. Ejector on every drop. Easily the best coaster at Disney World.

It’ll be interesting to see where Tron goes in these rankings,if I had to guess probably somewhere between 3-5

for me, i first when on guardians in september 2022 & i first went on everest back in may 2006 when all of the effects & the yeti animatronic still worked & even then, i would still put guardians above everest, IT WAS THAT GOOD

You and me share the same opinions on BTMRR. BTMRR is my favorite coaster at the Magic Kingdom with Space in 2nd place. I've ridden both sides of Space Mountain and both sides are mirrored (which is why I count it as one credit). One side though is for stand-bye while the other is for Lightning Lane.

Got back from Orlando a couple of weeks ago. I agree with your top 2, even if I couldn't decide which order they should go in. I'd put Rock 'n' Roller up there too, though, just because it's so thrilling, and the launch is fantastic. Thunder Mountain I find a touch boring, to be honest - the setting is well done, but the ride puts me to sleep. I'd probably have Space Mountain at the 4 position. Even more so in the total dark, which we got to do during Halloween.

My ranking: 8. Barnstormer 7. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Pointless with BTMR in the same park. Forceless and tame. Barely comfortable, the seats are odd.) 6. Slinky Dog Dash (This is the definition of "Baby's First Launch Coaster," and I like it for that.) 5. Rock n Roller Coaster (My most recent ride was the least rough, it's growing on me) 4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Truly the wildest ride in the wilderness) 3. Space Mountain (Wow, what a rush. This tiny thing packs a punch) 2. Expedition Everest (There wasn't much force for a major coaster, but a lot of force for a Disney coaster) 1. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (This has legit airtime, it spins, am awesome soundtrack. I'm in love with this ride)

I absolutely loved Expedition Everest and fortunately most people seem to leave Animal Kingdom after 2 so the line was only 10 minutes each time. I ended up riding it 9 times in one day and I'd do it again.

Great rank or every roller coaster at Disney World! You know, maybe you should make a roller coaster rank list in Florida edition!

I wish space mountain would get a complete upgrade, same with spaceship earth. They feel old but could look amazing. Keep the rides as is but modernize.

Space Mountain at MK has inferior theming (especially the loading station) compared to the version at Disneyland and the coaster at MK is rougher. That said, I prefer the MK version because the layout is quite solid. It has genuine airtime. You get a few pops in the front coming out of the ascents and several moments of moderately sustained airtime in the back on the drops. It really is so much fun. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a kiddie coaster in the front and a family thrill coaster in the back.

I think the loading area at MK Space Mountain is fine but the one weak point in the theming is the *unloading* area. You go from the ride to the cool themed corridor with show scenes (formerly a moving walkway), but in between, there's this area that just has drop ceilings like an office cafeteria and an ugly carpet. It's oddly mundane. I've wondered if that's intentional to keep people moving, since they don't want you hanging around there. I've found that most Disney fans prefer Disneyland Space Mountain to MK's, but *coaster* fans often prefer MK's Space Mountain.

Hey Chris, I'll be going to WDW for the first time this fall. I know you're more of a coaster fan, but, I'd love to know your list on the dark rides and flat rides. Great video like always.

Pretty close to mine as well, though I got big thunder and cosmic rewind reversed for sentimental reasons. First and last coaster I road with my mother, she passed a bit after we last went and road it.

Expo Everest has a hella short single riders line. I’ll just run that coaster 3-4 times in a row. It’s such a solid coaster. Poor yeti, it actually broke (essentially) early in the rides lifetime. It originally moved and swung at the train. They added the strobe light to simulate movement.

Some of the few American credits I have from my visit back in 2009, all fairly good if I remember rightly I just wish I had got on Space Mountain, the only one I missed as I couldn't find it as a sunburnt 12 year old

Disney has some fun coasters. Wish I could ride Guardians and TRON (when it finally opens) but it's really hard to justify going back to a park by a company that seems to be making some questionable decisions lately. The prices and the wait times alone are really annoying. But it's still possible to have a great time there. I know I'm late, but here's my ranking: 7. Barnstormer - Cute ride, but why'd they have to make the seats bumpy? It's a cool design but it hurts! (ranking: 88/98) 6. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - Weird to have another mine train in the same park, but it's a fun time. The rocking cars are cool, and the theming is great. It doesn't do much, but it works for families and is thus very popular. My only real complaint is that it could be longer. (ranking: 66/98) 5. Slinky Dog Dash - Fun theming. Only rode it once and it was a fun and smooth ride. The hills are fun, but don't really give airtime. I do like the midway launch. (ranking: 61/98) 4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - Despite being only 2 ahead of Slinky in my rankings, this was a much more complete and fun ride. It's super long, looks cool, and has lots of fun turns and dips that you feel unlike the ones ranked below this one. (ranking: 59/98) 3. Space Mountain - Rode this a few times. I prefer the Alpha side (the one to the right where you see its whole queue) as the Omega side is weirdly rough and not as fun as the smooth Alpha side. It's Space Mountain, what can I say that hasn't been said? Great concept, fun ride. (ranking: 38/98) 2. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Underrated as heck, no one talks about this one! I enjoy it more than Flight of Fear because it's smooth and doesn't stop mid-ride. Great launch, cool and unique theming, and you fly through the darkness, which is always a good time. (ranking: 30/98) 1. Expedition Everest - Rode this 5 or 6 times thanks to the single rider line. Fun and long ride with lots of variety and decently forceful moments. Ride in the back and you'll be pulled down the hills! (ranking: 29/98)

I would have space mountain over big thunder but I vaguely remember either as it has been 20 years since I have ridden either. I rode the materhorn but had not rode any of the other 6.

Rockin is no. 1 or 2 bc of that launch plus it is smooth for an old vekoma

I rode Space Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland 4 years ago. Funny thing about Tokyo Disneyland is it's not in Tokyo but anyways, I enjoyed it but also found myself ducking the whole time being afraid of hitting something because I couldn't see. I assume the speeds are all the same at every Disney park and if so yeah the darkness does make it feel like you're going faster than you actually are.

From what I have ridden, I’d say: 1. Space Mountain 2. Expedition Everest 3. Big Thunder Mountain 4. Rock n Rollercoaster I haven’t ridden Space Mountain since before I was an enthusiast, so maybe I am inflating how much I liked it a bit. I remember it having decent airtime in both the front and back though.

Of the four I've ridden: 4. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster 3. Space Mountain 2. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 1. Expedition Everest All of these are good rides with some cool theming. R'n'RC is by far the most intense ride of the four, but the theming is less consistent than the others. I haven't ridden their more kiddie rides or anything too new. Barnstormer is my daughter's one coaster cred that I don't have. She says it's not worth the wait.

At magic kingdom I went on the last row of 7 dwarfs at night (mickeys not so scary Halloween) and I got strong airtime coming down the 41 ft drop

I thought I was the only person who liked Big Thunder more than Space Mountain. I’m happy to see I’m not crazy.

The air conditioning in the star tunnel is what sets Space apart for me! The queue for Thunder can be brutal in the florida heat.

Expedition Everest is pretty intense for the height requirement, I rode it over a dozen times with my 6 years old, for me is definitely the best at Disney, Guardians is a great experience but it gets boring after a few times, Great list…

I recommend going to Disneyland Paris for more intense rollercoasters, especially Space Mountain (it actually has inversions).

They may not be able to accommodate every time but you can always nicely ask a cast member what row you would like to sit on

Basically mine except swap slinky with dwarves and Space Mountain is my tops. Though haven’t done Guardians yet.

Interesting take. It’s Disney. Not sure it’s fair to compare these to actual coasters. Disney is a true family theme park.

A Disney coaster is a different kind of beast from a regular coaster--they need to be judged almost as if they were dark rides. Considered just as a coaster, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster would actually be a middling-respectable ride at a Cedar Fair or Six Flags park (it resembles Flight of Fear). But that's not what you're there for.

My favorite roller coaster at Walt Disney World is Space Mountain (MK), followed by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (MK), Rock 'n' Roller Coaster (HS), Expedition Everest (AK), Primeval Whirl (R.I.P.) and Barnstormer (MK). Any coaster they have that's not on the list isn't there because I haven't ridden it yet but when I do, expect this list to change a bit.

you should do Disney coasters by the numbers

I have a spreadsheet where I rank different categories of every coaster I go on. Based on that, my rankings are: 8. Barnstormer 7. Seven Dwarves 6. Space Mountain 5. Thunder Mountain 4. Slinky Dog Dash (I haven't ridden in a while... line is always too long. But I get airtime in the back row?) 3. Rock N Roller Coaster 2. Everest 1. Cosmic Rewind The category "overall fun" is 20%. So if I am laughing the entire time and want to go on it again, it will have a HUGE impact on the ranking. Hence Cosmic Rewind being so high. I also tend to enjoy Space and Thunder MORE than Slinky Dog, but the spreadsheet keeps me as objective as possible.

Makes me wonder if you plan to go back to Disney World soon once Tron opens

I also went to Disney World recently, it's amazing, Cosmic Rewind is the most underrated ride in my opinion, and Rock'n'Roller Coaster is just a blast.

@@Emplordxiii There's always the expectations game--I've been seeing a lot of online complaints about the ride's theming not being up to what somebody imagined it would be in their mind.

I’m not really a Disney person, but Toy Story is one of my favourite films so Slinky Dog Dash is high on my bucket list for the theming alone.

I’m curious where Tron will be in your top 3 when it opens.

Bro rock’n roller coaster is so good

This was a fun ranking to watch! Personally, I rate Rock N Roller Coaster a little higher than you do, also I have Slinky above Seven Dwarves but I could see it the other way around too. Granted it’s been a while since I’ve been on Slinky, but I found the mild thrills pretty fun on it. I also have Guardians above Everest, and I actually have it in my top 10 out of 139 credits. I absolutely love the ride’s story and I don’t even think the movies are all that relevant to understanding it. The queue is The Wonder’s of Xandar pavilion, as they wanted to make their own Epcot Showcase type of pavilion sharing their world and technology with us so we can create a brighter tomorrow together, which is very Epcot. I love Epcot so this makes me happy. Then of course they teleport you with the cosmic generator, the celestial steals it and the ride thing happens. Everybody Wants To Rule The World is a very very fun song with the ride, but most of the other songs are faster pace so one of those and in the back row gives the ride something a little extra! Especially going around the moon helix at the end it YANKS you through it. I do have some clear Epcot bias though and I’m a cast member that’s been able to ride it enough to get all 6 songs. My favorite is definitely One Way Or Another but they’re all very good

@@AirtimeThrills definitely, especially with the virtual queue. Unless you’re a local passholder or a cast member, getting all, or even most of, the songs might not be a possibility at least until they get ride of the virtual queue. I had multiple previews and then the ability to go to Epcot frequently. I forget how lucky I am sometimes. Still leaves me with a dumb smile every time I get to ride it.

My ranking is: 1:rocken (just a really fun launch) 2:guardians 3:Everest 4:space mountain 5:big thunder mountain(it’s been closed in both Disneyland and world when I’ve been there.L recently but I still have found memories of the thing) 6: 7 dwarfs(I love dark rides) 7:slinky 8:barnstormer

Space Mountain is my favorite Disney ride of all time

Use the Seven Dwarves inspired model in Planet Coaster (and tweak the settings) to make an Axis coaster.

Cool fact about the moon ending for guardians, it’s meant to represent you orbiting the moon to build momentum in its gravitational pull to shoot you back to earth. Hence you blasting back to the station following the moon helix.

Reminds me of an episode of Magic School Bus where they have to stop an asteroid from crashing into the school.

part of why they added 7 dwarves is that with the Fantasy land remodel, they needed a "boy" ride to balance out all of the "girl" experiences they were adding.
