Her loss against Spectre was only acceptable if she got a rematch later on, which she apparently was supposed to get at first but... Production issues, you know

Aoi winning against Soulburner also would have made her transition to Blue Maiden more seamless as she would learn what Soulburner and Playmaker were up to (as that’s what they were dueling for) and really makes her feel important in the Ignis War

The thing I really hated about the first duel vs playmaker was her going "I was only ever playing into his hand, he's had control from the begaining." When Playmaker used data storm. Like no you were kicking the crap out of him and now he's using his OP skill.

Aoi changes VRAINS avatars as often as I would if VRAINS was real. And, while she lost most of her duels, I appreciated that she was around and got the amount of duels she did. Regardless, I still think she deserved better.

Aoi is best girl. Her designs were all great (especially Blue Maiden). She deserved more wins and just more duels in general.

@@petertilton7004 Her name is Aoi. Yugioh is a Japanese series made by Japanese creators. Japanese creators decided what the characters names are. They decided her name is Aoi. That is definition of original. It came first. You are factually incorrect by calling her Skye, which is an English dub name that came years after and by the definition of original, not her original name.

Aoi is by far my favorite Yugioh girl, she was one of the main reasons why I watched Vrains. Such an amazing character, she deserved so much better. P.S I remember many people got mad at her loss against Spectre, but I still think Spectre deserved to win, and not just because the plot "demanded it" or wanted to set up Spectre as a real threat, nope... Spectre totally dominated the duel and was always one step ahead of Aoi, she still dueled amazingly though. The one that got me really mad was her loss against Soulburner, Aoi dominated the entire duel and was clearly a superior duelist, she only lost due to Soulburner's outrageous plot armor and many situational cards, that was a slap to the face for fans.

She's the best duelist of the protagonists cercle. All of her duels her opponents have tech cards against her, she's the star of Vrains. Everyone have anti-burn and lifegain cards when they duel against her, she's always dueling from behind and always outduel her opponents even when she lost lol

I like the Blue Angel Vs Vyra duel because she was able to beat her and save the people who were disappearing from Link Vrains. Overall it was a epic duel and both duelist dueled well

In Aoi’s defense she was a victim of bad matchup syndrome. She dueled Playmaker who was invincible, Soulburner who is the second best duelist by the end, Ai and Bohman who were main villains, and Specter who at the time of their duel was a decent threat/secondary antagonist. I think as far as match ups go she probably had it the hardest out of all the yugioh girls. Honestly a shame because like you said seeing her get a good win would’ve been the cherry on top of her already good character.

Yeah like. Look at Alexis. After losing to Jaden she dueled Chazz, a one off Gambler character, Titan and in season 2, Atticus. Her only challenges were 2 duels with Jaden and her duel with White Chazz. Akiza too, defeated 2 duelists before losing to Yusei and then went on to defeat Misty and help Team 5Ds against Team Unicorn. She beat Trudge too. Sure she lost to Yusei twice but iirc those were her only losses.

Aoi is better than Soulburner. Her defeat against him was so unfair. She could won against Playmaker the first time, but he never lost because is the main character and lets pretend specter never happened

@@sorieketon4813 This is wrong on so many levels. I like Aoi but she is nowhere near Playmaker or Soulburner's dueling level. Like I said previously, it's unfortunate that she never got that big win she needed, in due part to her bad matchup syndrome, but please **be realistic here**. A character who lost most of her duels and has beating Vyra as her biggest character win isn't in the same league as characters like Playmaker or Soulburner. Also think of it this way, how is a character who lost to Specter going to be on the level of 2 character who beat Revolver? Your logic makes no sense. This is my biggest complaint with some of Aoi's fanbase, thinking she is a better duelist than she really was.

@@sorieketon4813 Aoi is not better. Soulburner defeated characters like Revolver, Go, Windy, and umm oh yeahhh Aoi. Who did Aoi beat again? Literal nobodys like Haru and Prototype B. The plot armor point means nothing because by your logic 90% of the duels in vrains have fake results and it means Soulburner would've defeated Bohman (another character who beat Aoi btw) who only won by cheating since Bohman illegally activated traps from his hand when he had no effects that allowed him to do so. Stop being a salty Aoi fan and be realistic. Aoi is not even close to Soulburner level.

Maybe a hot take, but Blue Angel deserved to be the "best friend" character of VRAINs. Idk, it just feels more natural to me.

Out of all the girls, I think Aoi was the one who was best used. She didn't just sit in the sidelines, she tried to actively get involved, and it was a nice change to see her and Yusaku go from acquaintances, to comrades to actually becoming friends. It was a nice change from the two previous girls, Yuzu and Kotori, who only screamed the MC name and the anime likes to pretend they actually matter. And unlike Akiza, she didn't feel like she was replaced by the new comrade, Crow/Soulburner

But tbh, Yuzu's development was better than Aoi's in the first season of Arc-V. Yuzu tried to become stronger (for herself not to prove someone her worth or whatever) so she asked Sora to teach her fusion. (sadly she didn't learn more summon methods later) And even if I dislike her becoming a damsel in distress after season 1, she was with no doubt way more relevant in the story of Arc-V than Aoi was for Vrains. I like Aoi as a character and good thing she didn't end up ever screaming for Playmaker but other than that, looking how shitty she was treated from the beginning (infected with a virus, put into coma, faceplant after the Spectre duel etc.) and her only notable win being against Vyra (the one against Haru was a joke), Yuzu really had the better beginning.

@@mikai4738 akiza and yuzu have the best starts and slow fade into abscurity, tea and kotori remain bland all the way to the end of their arcs, alexis has fake agency in looking for her brother while not actively looking and the plot brings him back until she becomes an enemy in the second arc, killed in the 3rd and nothing in the 4th, Aoi remains consistently abused throughout her show yet also never wanting to settle for being a bystander, i genuinely dont know who has the best track record of yugioh girls other than romin and even then she's not more important to the overall story than any of the others

@@sdbzfan1 Romin isn't a perfect written character either (and her latest duel wasn't that good either imo) but at least she isn't constantly abused by the writers, gets manipulated or put into the damsel in distress role. I hope this stays like that for the rest of the show. (even though I wish for her getting some character development, her duel record is fine but character-wise she could need some growth and I'm saying that as someone who likes her) She also feels like a part of the main group and doesn't exist so there's a girl in there. (which was my feeling for Kotori, Anzu and Asuka)

I don’t hate Soulburner but he did not need all the spotlight

while her duel against specter was amazing, I'd put her vs. Baira as #2. The fact she made such great conclusions about the contents of her opponent's deck (definitely a lot of trap cards, focus on resolving Virus cards) is a level of thinking and awareness that really isn't that present in the anime, aside from obvious asspulls. Definitely an underrated duel, imo

Haru getting thrown in the trash cracks me up. Lightning is even like nobody thinks your gonna win, go bye us some time so Aoi has something to do. the whole bohman saga is full of creative decisions that are very strange.

1:44 There are exceptions like Durbe & Merag VS Vector and Alit VS Gilag. The tension was there with both duels and the payoffs were incredible and heartbreaking. Good development for Yuma, Nasch and Vector.

Hot take, vrains was missing some duels in the real world with the cast, especially by the final arc when everyone knew eachothers identities, have yusaku depressed about both ai and robbopi "betraying him" and have homura and aoi duel him in the real world to show him how it wasnt playmaker that connect with roboppi and ai it was the yusaku inside that never backed down since his experience as a victim of hanoi Even 5d's had duels outside of turbo dueling

I still think that she should of have one more duel during the final season, like maybe a duel vs Playmaker again to finish off the little storyline they seem to have made after the duel against Ai with her brother, especially after what Ai said.

Blue Angel is like a Pokemon anime character. She would fit perfectly as an excellent tranier and coordinator.

Aoi is one of my favorite main girls but ngl, her duels never impressed nor interested me much. It's sad to know how her defeating Vyra was already her peak since after that she just lost to relevant characters or won against irrelevant ones. (yeah, Haru wasn't relevant and Lightning basically said he's just dueling to buy some time so) Despite the horrible ending for her, her duel with Spectre was probably my favorite. But man, when it comes to the way she loses, it's like the writers had some fun with her being humiliated, not just by Spectre but also kinda Soulburner.

Oh Aoi, you had the blandness of Tea and the Quirky fun extravagance of Yuzu A shame you turned out worse than Kotori Love her Vrains designs though, and wish she had more interactions in the real world

Yeah, her designs really pop out. Not even just saying that from a "she looks attractive" perspective. There's just a lot of character put into them.

Glad you’re doing more for VRAINS. VRAINS tried too hard to limit the number of characters (which really wasn’t Arc-V’s fault, pacing screwed over characters there) but as a result, there was too little potential for matchups for the characters. Plus with a cast so small, I really wish there were more team duels in YuGiOh, especially in VRAINS. Imagine if the final battle was Aoi, Soulburner, and Playmaker vs Bohman so she sacrificed herself to give them a fighting chance as Aqua got absorbed. It’d make Playmaker slowly growing more compassionate for someone even more impactful. If Haru did more in the first half of season 2, I dunno, duel Akira but not kill him, that could’ve been a good setup for their duel as the younger sibling trying to prove themselves beyond their older sibling’s control. And many Aoi definitely deserved a rematch with Spectre. I’ve heard his actor couldn’t get there but also they didn’t have plans for him so I’m not sure, but it was a wasted opportunity.

To me the biggest fix for the low character count is when ai took over the company from queen open up a world tornament where the winner gets to verse him and have any wish granted but the catch is ai was gonna destroy link vrains along side the mental data of everyone in it if he wins in the end, all he does is after opening the tornament sign up as his human avatar so only playmaker and revolver know he is participating in his own tornament

I personally think Aoi vs Soulburner is well justified in it's spot. It's a duel that has aged poorly since Aoi really needed some justification for her change more than Soulburner needed the free publicity. That duel should have been a draw to show that Homura and Aoi were on a more equal playing field so that way we can also justify her placements on the team later on. To be fair she did have some of the toughest opponents in the show so her records make sense.

Vyra duel is honestly my favorite duel with her, so far I'm still going through it. From surviving the three luck of the draws , the Bella summon which I personally wanted to see more of, too the impact the wind had on the arc

Still frustrated that she didn't get any wins as Blue Girl.

She should.have had a rematch with Specter...and win, personal favorite is her Duel with Specter and her and Akira Vs Ai

Aoi is amazing. She deserves more wins in her duels. Blue Angel vs Playmaker was very cool when she starts to shed tears after her lost

my favorite duel of aoi zaizen was her against Boham, even if he is a boring villian, she loss with more dignity because she dies fighithing, not being the punching bag of the main caracthers.

Thank Dylan for a Good Video! I agree with your list in this video. Aoi was my favorite female character in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. It would have been cool if Aoi would have duel Spectre earlier in the show to lose to him then when this duel came up she could have got the win.

Firstly, Good Video explaining your opinions about each of Aoi's duels. It is such a shame how they treated throughout the show in regards to both her duels and her character importance. Aoi was such interisting character, full of opportunity to be one of the best female leads, in this franchise, in both her interactions with the rest of the main cast as well in her duels. I find it really sad they ended the show without giving her some kind of silver lining or grandiose moment. The way I see it, Aoi is the strongest female duelist in the whole yugioh franchise: she has a professional duel carrer where she is one of the stonrgest duelist; all her loses were against high levels opponents in the protagonists and villains departament, esppecially when compared to previous yugioh series, (it is even implied by the show that she is stronger than Specter by the end of the show, despite not having a rematch), and even then, none of her duels were stomps, since she was able to either dominate the duels at the beggining (like against Playmaker and Soulburner) or put up a fight, adapting to the opponents and standing strong to the bitter end (like against Bohman). I would even argue that she could defeat in duels most of the other characters in all the other seasons, with the exception of the other protagonists (Yuri is a evil protagonist like character, so he counts in this), the rivals (the Kaiba-likes plus Shark; although I could see Aoi beating every GX character, except Judai) and the bullshit level villains (Dartz, Z-One and Don Thousand; maybe she can beat Zarc, if she only uses her Marincess deck or don't ever fusion summon). The only other female characters that come near or equal her level of skill are Mai and Serena; where just like the former they were able to duel and put up a fight against at leat one main villain of the season, besides having a profissional dueling carrer; while in the latter case they dueled really well againts protagonists or of the like characters and have really strong decks (SEVENS still is now finished, but it is so different that it is hard to measure skill levels when compared to the other series. Also, Tea "100%" win rate is a joke: her legitimate wins were against Joey when he didn't how to play the game,;Mai surrendered on purpose when she could've won; and agaisnt Crump the Dark Magician Girl A.I/Spirit pointed out the right plays and tookover that duel by the end, while Tea on her own only did misplays). In regards to Vrains, they could have given her the Roboppi duel to finish her involvement in the main plot. Both are younger siblings dueling to protect/save their older brothers. Aoi could could have gone searching for A.I whereabouts, just to encounter Roboppi. Then she challenges the machine for A.I's location. The duel could start with Aoi angry and Roboppi happy, with the latter with advantage in the beggining tauting her; but during the duel, through dialogue, she would start to understand better who roboppi is to Yusaku and A.I to remember why she keeps dueling (make people happy, protect the ones dears to her, save people from darkness). After this realization, she would start gaining advantage, and one inversion would happen, with Roboppi start to get furious and straining it processor, while Aoi motivated and calm. Then you can have the whole Ropobbi malfuction moment, but here Aoi would have countermeasures to Roboppi's attacks instead of it finishing it's turn earlier (this way, Aoi victory would not feel cheap or unearned). After she puts the robot out of it misery and wins, she, in short of a call back to earlier in the season, could have another emotional moment with Yusaku, where both are sad and try to be supportive of each other; Aoi would apologise and console Yusaku for Roboppi loss (I mean, she just "killed" someone that she recognized as a living being and also dear to Yusaku), while he would console her saying that Roboppi was probably doomed either way, it ai upgrade was just to much for his processor, and that Aoi did the right thing. It then ends with her giving the A.I location data to Playmaker and Soulburner, saying that is as far she will go, and decide to return to her brother's comatosed body, trusting that he will save Akira (for some sappiness, have her give Playmaker a goodbye/good luck hug; for extra points, show his bewildred expression). But anyway, this just my opinion on some aspects of her presence in the show and her overall standing among the all of yugioh series as a whole.

I really don't get why they wouldn't give her many wins. A bunch of her duels were used to show off other character's deck like Spectre and Soulburner. I think she should've won against Spectre to prove that she is competent. It shouldn't have to be Playmaker saving the day for every single matchup.

It really sucks her only wins are against goon characters at best. Also that Soulburner vs Blue Girl duel was so pointless that the writers had the balls to turn Aoi into the Yamcha of Yugioh Vrains.

The biggest disrespect was her still scaling lower than Go at the start of season 3 somehow given all narrative statements explaining Soulburner’s strength to draw parallels

Loved the video though I want to clarify that statement about Yu-girls and being brainwashed because it's misleading(not saying you're purposely misleading but the term is heavily misleading) Brainwashing/corrupting in yugioh is a trope in general and not at all targeted or heavily aimed at Yu-girls. Anyone can just compile every time it happened to a specific identity while leaving out how the exact same thing happens to others, in some cases more. Gen 1 - Joey got brained by Marik(and technically again by Darts if you count the mirror knights thing), Yami Yugi got corrupted/brain influenced by the Orichalcos, Tristan got his body taken over, Yugi's Grandpa got his soul stolen, Mokuba had his soul stolen and then Pegasas made the soulless body act as a servant. Bakura is the only free pass since his entire character we being brainwashed Gen 2 - Chazz and Bastion got brainwashed just like Asuka in season 2(they even tried the same with dino boy), then that purple haired prince(the one who owned the laser) was brainwashed(yes he's minor but the picture shown included minor characters as well), and then in season 3 Chazz basically spent the 2/3 of season 3 being a zombie along with Sho(Asuka was fine), then after Jesse was brainwashed/possessed by Yubel for the last third. Gen 3 - The Dark Singers who were all(except for Rex and his brother basically) technically possessed or Brainwash to be hateful. But Rally was also brainwash to be put into a duel where Yusei would've lost if Rally didn't wake up at the end and basically took himself out. Gen 4 - Shark got brianwash/manipulated by a number card before The number cards in general brainwashed a lot of people(Like that guy who acts as a superhero) not to mentioned, Alito and Girag got brainwashed to dueling by Don Thousands. Gen 5 - Basically everytime one of the Yu-boys went berserk state because of Zarc that's basically brainwashed/heavily influenced and they're not themself. That was a consistent thing about the yu-boy and yu-girls. The entire Zarc fight was basically brainwashed/possessed Yuma. Gen 6 - I didn't watch Vrain that much only getting the bits so I don't know how many people there got brainwashed. But I'm counting Go being on crack during season 2 as one XD Anyways what I'm getting that isn't that no girl get brainwashed a lot, I'm saying characters in general get brainwashed. It's a trope the series are always using for everyone but by the looks of it they've been slowing it down to the later generations. but it was definitely not just targeted at girls as if yeah every generation they only make the girl characters be mind controlled. I just want to point it out as it's misconceptions like that which then grows into rumors and then next thing we know the creator of yugioh is being called a 'sexist pig because he only made girl be mind controlled because of some sick fantasy they had'. Again not saying you were calling them yet but when misconception start showing their head which tells half truths or half lies, then it's better if we correct them before it gets out of hand. Who knows, it mind change/better inform a opinion on a subject.

My guess is that the girl brainwash moments are just remembered more given that Yugioh has a reputation for.mishandling female characters in general. Arc V, for example, ended up using the trope at the expense of prematurely ending Yuzu and Serena's respective character arcs, and depriving Ruri and Rin of focus after they were built up for so long (especially Ruri who was built up for basically the entire show).

The problem is that it always happens with the main girl at some point. Anzu was mind controlled, Asuka got brainwashed, Aki got kinda manipulated by Divine/Sayer + her psychic powers getting out of control (maybe not direct mind control/brainwashing but still kinda bad), Kotori was mind controlled, Yuzu (and the rest of the Bracelet Girls) got mind controlled and well, same for Aoi. The only one save from any mind control shit so far is Romin and I hope this won't change. (and no, Romin's "berserk mode" isn't really mind control and feels more of a parody from it) Sure it happened with male characters too but it isn't the case for every main protagonist.

Bohmans duels against Blue Maiden and Soulburner always rubbed me the wrong way because the Hydradrive deck was just stacked against them. Bohmans link 1s could attack if the corresponding Attributes were on the field which were always the case and this let him just negate their effects for the majority of the duel. Only Playmaker could play around it just based on how his deck was built.

Well Aoi vs Specre was a really good duel for him 😅 Aoi did play really well against Bowman, Soulburner, and Ai at least! (also, I think you meant to say “pseudo super fusion”). And it was nice of her to take the initiative vs Byra. It is also interesting that Ai beat Aoi with effect damage; something she took advantage of the whole series). Aoi was also trying to get the data back of Miu.

I think that if Soulburner had lost to Aoi, then there was no way he would have beaten Revolver in their final duel.

Aoi Zaizen is very beautiful.

If Aoi had beaten Soulburner it would have been so good for her. It would have evened her up to a 50/50 duel record by the end of the show. Sadly this was not the case. Honestly it would have been really cool if Haru and Aoi had dueled earlier in season 2 and that would probably have improved the duel that happened in the anime itself. Her writing dueling wise was not great and really didn't live up to her character writing imo

Her vs Specter is the first duel I think of any time I think of her character. Can't wait for Jack Atlas, one of my fav Yugioh characters. Will it be exclusively 5D's or including Arc V?

I would put the duel against Prototype B higher,since it was a fun burn deck versus burn deck.

Aoi/Sky Zaizen had the most entertainment duels in Vrains. She was one of fewest character that most duel the result she could or couldnt on a victory. She had lot of grow specially for Female Character. And i have to say that both Trickstar and Mariness decks were so cool with their combos.

I liked her a lot!! I wish the writers gave her some more memorable wins on screen, but she was still a lot of fun to root for and watch

Did I miss something on Spectre's voice actor? It was mentioned very breefly at the end but I dont remember hearing about stuff before.

if this series just had more time and season 3 was full length where we had to deal with Ai and the knights once more, aoi taking on spectre once more could have been a big moment

It is very likely that she had been marginalized and deceived (We are talking about a character who lost in a duel in an Episode called "Blue Girl's First Battle!")

I have always thought that Aoi should have dueled Roboppi instead of Soulburner because he didn't need to be Roboppi and Revolver back to back. Plus she needed the win more. She already had that bench scene with Yusaku earlier that season so it's not like the emotional impact would have gone anywhere from what it was and it would have been a big win for her. They still could of had Soulburner vs Revolver by either having post out the same way or having Aoi let Soulburner duel him because of their unfinished business. I'll never agree with that decision that they made just to make Soulburner more powerful when he didn't need it.

Plus they could have bonded over not having very many friends and losing the only they had, aoi with the blue ignis's owner, and yusaku with roboppi, she then goes into the vrains and puts roboppi out of its misery for her new friend in yusaku

You guys think Aoi Zaizen should've had the Spell Card called "Special Hurricane"? I bet it would've been cool if she did have that spell card which would've been useful to her.

I FEEL LIKE I'M THE ONLY ONE WHO LIKED THE SOULBURNER DUEL! I've watched it several times, both sub and dub. I liked that it was only one episode, and I thought she did great. But I see her losing was better for her character growth. She was being too pushy in that instant, and it helped her understand the Ignis were more than just typical AIs. I also liked Haru's since we get her new deck, though it would have been better if Haru got more character attention and duels. I did like Bohman too. She lost, but she kept going right until the end. And compared to other losses where she face planted, she managed to land on her feet. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME A FEMALE LEAD TOOK ON A FINAL BOSS OF A SEASON!

I guess a lot of people feel that her growth is diluted by her lack of wins, since she doesn't get as much chances as she deserves to truly highlight that growth. But putting up a great fight against AI and Bohman certainly helps, especially since she dueled Bohman on her own.

I don't really see how her loss against Soulburner gave her character growth? Tbh, it's been too long ago since I've watched Vrains but I can't remember that loss having some meaning for her. Haru is another Vrains character who got horrible treatment and there was no good reason to have him exist imo. The fact that not even Lightning believed in Haru winning and him being just there to buy some time was pretty much an insult to Aoi. Like as if she is only able to beat someone who is weak and basically irrelevant compared to Lightning and Bowman. And the only good thing for me of her duel against Bowman was that for once, she got no humiliating loss.

Do more of this and you should do ai next

If anything, her duel vs SoulBurner should be at the bottom. It was horribly written, horribly paced and completely unnecesary. SoulBurner won with a literal asspull and that duel (alongside the Go one) just helped cement him as a Gary Stu. You don't need to crap on old characters just to establish that your new one is strong. (unless it's a villain, I guess)

Soulburner defeating Go is one thing but yeah, Idk why he needed to defeat Aoi aswell. I think he could've shown her that she is in the wrong without beating her. Heck, or at least let her lose without humiliating her again. (having her crash into a wall and then go unconscious was unnecessary)

A little late to the party? Yes. A bit nit picky? Absolutely. But there is something I wanted to ask. Why didnt She just let Bohman destroy her monster? She had 1900 lp during the last turn. Bohmans monster had 6000 atk, Aoi’s was 4400. Unless my math was wrong thats only 1600 and if she takes it Bohmans effect cant send anything away and it cant attack. I do get that Bohman needed to win this duel for stuff to happen down the road but I am curious. And more so I am wondering could she have possibly won if not for plot

Her duel against Soulburner has to be in the bottom. This duel is just terrible in every aspect. The sudden drop in ratings on Niconico said a lot, didn't it? Sure the duel against the Sol AI is forgettable, but being memorable in a bad way is just a million times worse.

My personal list: 1. Aoi and Akira vs Ai 2. Aoi vs Spectre 3. Aoi vs Vyra 4. Aoi vs Bohman 5. Aoi vs Haru 6. Aoi vs Soulburner 7. Aoi vs Playmaker 8. Aoi vs Prototype B

Aside from duel skills, how bout Blue Maiden Hairstyles? Lol

Blue Girl could have easily won in her duel against Soulburner if the writers considered an outside solution to Soulburner's defeat. Aoi worked with Playmaker in season 1 to defeat the Hanoi, who hunted the Ignis, so hunting Ignis herself is very out of character, and I feel like they could have had her join Playmaker and Soulburner after winning this duel with a very big character development conversation between her, Soulburner, and Flame. That way, even before Aqua is brought into the picture and gives her something personal to fight for, she is still fighting for the good of others, even if she doesn't gain anything from it, which is what she did from the start as Blue Angel. The losses to Bohman and Ai are the most understandable, though it is extremely irritating that he only lost those duels because of plot reasons, but the Soulburner duel was a completely inappropriate outcome. I did love the duel against Spectre, win or lose, mostly because of the out-of-duel character development both characters shared, which just gives more evidence to my opinion that she could have beaten Soulburner and found a way to switch sides.

By the way, it is sad to think that a character like Asana had important duels (where she won several) and Aoi did not. The worst comes from the fact that Asana is a recurring character (and she doesn't have many duels, but she always manages to shine in her duels) while Aoi is a main character, but she feels more like a glorified supporting character (let's not talk about the physical and mental damage) PS: Analysis or Review for Rio when? I feel like blue-haired (or light blue) characters end up being marginalized (Maybe that's why Luke always wins: he's avenging his blue-haired comrades. And no, Shark has purple hair, not blue)

shark's hair is very much blue. also, instead of feeling sad that asana does better than aoi, let's be happy asana exists. and honestly the entire female cast of sevens, they are all great.

I wished aoi aka blue angel deserved better treatment as female character than what writers did poorly to aoi

This is just a speculation, but apparently voice acting is a side job of Specter’s VA, so there was a chance that Specter didn’t have much screen time in season 3 because his VA was busy with his main job.

4:53 Marincess were kinda forgettable imo. Trickstars were better.

Aoi deserved better.

Which may have been fine, if anything substantively positive had ever come in her future. Instead, best you can give is a shrug.

Blue [whatever she felt like calling herself] could’ve been a great secondary character if her character was written correctly . She ended up being written to an extent that she was hard to take seriously With her duel against Bohman, she wasted a turn where she was able to negate up to 10000 points of damage, but even she admitted it wasn’t enough and then lost One of my favourites, she came across as a coward and a bit of a dick when she tried to appeal to Ai to stop their duel , claiming they both felt the same pain over losing a loved one . Ai lost his whole species and Blue just lost Aqua. Ai absolutely destroyed her in his tirade afterwards Rant over 🙁🙁🙁

Aoi vs spectre should be bottom of the list and smashed trough the rotten bottom, spectre is such a bad character and this duel was nothing more than raise the stakes so that playmaker could swoop in and show how cool he was at the cost of aoi

Man, I cannot really remember ever liking ANY of her duels... honestly, Aoi is very forgettable as a duelist imo...

The reason i don't like her is because she just changed deck and personality too much. Like she went through 3 different personalties and all sucked. The first one was fine but she was too obsessed with beating playmaker. The second was completely unecesarry and litterally had no other purpose than her fusioning. The last one is what i liked the most but even then she was still kinda bad. Her character was all about her being depressed cuz big bro didn't let her do what she wanted and almost didn't spend time with her. The only good duel she had was against spectre but even then it was just to introduce his character as a powerful one

Honestly soul burner is what made me drop the show. Found him irritating and we already had one protagonist who always wins we didn’t need another lesser one. Him beating Aoi in the most bs way was my last straw

Nothing new for yugioh bringing in a new guy who gets some more focus in a new season but dang, they really exagerated it with Soulburner. I get that as a Lost Incident victim and one who is already with his Ignis partner, he would be more important but shortly after being introduced he already manages to easily beat Go and Aoi, two of his heroes. The new OP and ED also make him look like he's the deuteragonist despite being only introduced in season 2. I also dislike how the writers only focused on Playmaker and Soulburner when it comes to the Lost Incident victims. Season 2 was there to explore about them and yet, only two of the six LI victims were given some proper screentime. Jin was still a shell, Miyu in a coma, Windy's origin likely d-worded and not even given a proper design. And then there's Spectre who got sidelined hard for whatever reason.

I never trust that misoginyst 5Ds writer. This is the same crap from 5D

Bohman was a trash character. Even with how badly Yugioh misuses female characters there was absolutely no reason for Aoi to lose to him.

Aoi Zaizen…the most disrespected Yugioh girl of all time. Such great potential…so sad that it went nowhere. Yugioh has to fix this and it seems that it might have with Sevens but I’m not very impressed unfortunately since I still have mixed feelings about the anime.

The whole trope needs to die and be done with. Also…I’m a huge fan of yours as well. Been for a long time. I’m so happy to see you doing so well and always being fire with the videos. Interesting character, bad writing.

I'm glad I didn't watch this show. All the hours I would have wasted only to see yet another female protagonist be completely trashed. It is so strange because we all know Komoney only cares about profit and the female support cards sell like HOT CAKES! I know YuGiOh Sevens is doing a much better job, but it doesn't excuse the 5 arcs after DM 🤷‍♂️

Indeed. It will take a long, long, LONG time before this franchise can be forgiven, and it's going to take at least three more shows like Sevens, that have done at least as good a job as Sevens has done thus far, and they all stick the landing (much as I'm praising Sevens, I have no illusions; it ain't over until it's over).

i loved Aois brainwashing and screaming it was such a huge turnon for me and hooked me into this series as well as the dramatic fallen angel finale of the duel. I also loved the spectre duel with her smashing into the ground, i mean its rare for yugioh to be this cool nowadays
