X Can't believe they left out Anne's attempted kidnapping.

Crazy how the only shot of Diana in her wedding dress was a quick shot of her walking away. Maybe with that dress, that’s all you needed!

@@janetdill9599 I heard someone say they did it on purpose - everyone knows what happened when she walked out.
I'm really going to miss this show, but I'm impressed by how much work went into replicating outfits, speeches and historical figures to resemble reality.
season 1 + 2 are my fav because of the period of elizabeth growing into herself as queen. but i always say season 1 episode 1 is like a movie. cinema. music, sets, costumes, everything is perfection.

I totally agree withu. It was an incredible start to the series & caught our interest from the get-go.

Agree completely. It was my first experience with a Netflix original series and I was completely blown away! The whole series is worth watching, and I'm mad that they didn't cover lots of early material that they could have, before zooming into the whole Diana storyline. (Princess Ann's brush with kidnapping would've made a great episode) But my favorite seasons 1 and 2 with the brilliant Claire Foy, and Matt Smith will have me returning for years and years.

@@maryloumawson6006 agreed i also wish they did the ann episode! a lot missed with her in general. i was thinking maybe they can do some kind of prequel spin off and cover perhaps the reign of elizabeth's grandfather up to the abdication of david?
Princess Alice wearing her nun’s habit at Philip and Elizabeth’s wedding. I have no idea why they did that. There are PICTURES. She wore a very nice outfit!

Agreed! My only guess is they were trying to make her stand out and make her easy to identify as a result, but still, the choice was a bit baffling!

She did wear her habit at the coronation though, so it's not entirely out of whole cloth.
‘Bubbikins’ is my favorite episode. Erin Doherty was underused.
I'll miss this show deeply! Great acting, directing, costumes, ... I think season 1 is my favorite, i loved young Elizabeth and Philip!
I would like to see more about the Princess of Wales and her relationship with her butler Paul Burrell. Especially the conversations they had just before she died RE using the press to print photos of her and Dodi to make her ex lover the heart surgeon jealous. Paul recounts he called her out on that move. She was never in love with Dodi. And the surgeon did call her cell the night of her accident but she wasn’t carrying it and never knew he reached out which I think would have caused her to stay in and talk to him. 😢
I was surprised they didn't do a small written epilogue stating. On Thursday the 8th of September 2022 at 6:45PM Her Royal Mastery Queen Elizabeth II passed away after celebrating her 70th jubilee as England's longest servicing monarchy since her great grandmother, Queen Victoria as the longest reigning Queen and since Queen Elizabeth II's great, great, great, great grandfather King George III as the longest reigning King of England. Queen Elizabeth II had many regrets in her life and she faced many tragedies in her family's life but never stopped servicing the country she fought for in WWII. Queen Elizabeth is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The artistry with which the show was told, the camera work, the cuts, the splicing and direction, it was all superb! The acting too, especially in the first 2 seasons was absolutely stellar! I was extremely disappointed that they grew Charles up so quickly. As if the Queen was just a place holder until they could get to the story of Diana! Seems to me, there was a lot more of her story to tell.
The queen did engage in an extended conversation with the intruder. I remember it well.

Yes, but I hardly doubt, it was about how Maggie "ruined" his life and Britain.
My favorite episode was Beryl. The two outstanding actors are the young boy who played Prince Charles at Gordonstoun, and Helena Bonham-Carter who was more like Princess Margaret than the real Princess Margaret.
Yay, another top of "The Crown" this, in my opinion, is an interesting story. Thanks, Emely and a happy friday afternoon to you as well. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia.
Charles hated Gordonstoun. I remember it well
I loved the one where Charles did hamlet and went to Aberystwyth.
i’m gonna miss this show sm 💔💔💔💔
The queen did let her views on thatcher be know. I remember it well.
How much do you want to bet they'll bring it back in 10 years if not less to continue the story?
There weren't any social media comments to disable between 1979 and 1990.

no way this is a serious comment
I was always aware it was a fictitious show based upon historical events. What surprised me was how many historic events were fictionalized. The dialog would have absolutely needed to be “created” but I’m not sure why they felt the need to re-write some of the history? I loved the show, as I felt it was superbly acted by all 3 major casts. And I’ve re-watched it several times. Seasons 1 and 2 are my favorites, but loved many elements of Helena Bonham Carter’s performance as princess Margaret.
I'm only near the end of Season 4, but if you think about it, most of what is presented is absolutely accurate. I remember many of the recent things (people, places, dates, events, etc.) as they happened, along with what I've seen in documentaries, read in historical books, seen in interviews, newspapers, other social media, etc. Yes, certainly much of the private dialogue within the family may not be entirely true, though Peter Morgan may have gotten some information overheard from staff and various people working within the Royal Family. So, keeping all the important events and history, as depicted, in mind (you can check some later after watching any episode- though keeping an open mind about what may or may not have transpired in any private conversations depicted), I'd say that yes, 'most' of 'The Crown' is true.
I wish they should extended for season 7 (Meghan Markle entrance in the monarch family)
ALLEGEDLY?!?!😂😂😂😂1:03
I get the sensation that every time the writers use creative license to turn the Queen Mother into an antagonist of sorts, they are using her as a stand in for outdated traditions and ideals.
Watching The Queen leaving the church... I cried... a LOT!

Me too! It was done so well! When the piper started playing the funeral song I just lost it!
None of throws people existed from season 1 to season 4, all of that was based around the 1500 even earlier then that by a queen that was erased from time to time. And the man that they clam as being Phillip was her secretary and he did marry the ballerina and there was a spy she was taken to Russia where she died. This is true events. From a forgotten past..
A Grest show
When the narrator says "many of us remember the events of [the early 1990s], somehow I have my doubts she is old enough to be one of "us", but maybe I'm wrong.
My personal season rankings from best to worst: 1, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5
All this fuss over a royal family, we Germans did a lot wrong in the last 110 years but one of the best things we did was kick out our monarchy 😅

Credit for the abdication of Wilhelm II, the end of the German Empire, and establishment of the Weimar Republic properly belongs to the victors of World War I, not the German people. Blame for the rise of Adolf Hitler, establishment of the Third Reich, and World War II does belong to the German people; they voted for the NSDAP after demonstrating they hadn’t actually learned their lesson from the First World War. The German people have been good world citizens for the past 75 years. But given the totality of their behavior in the 20th century, we’re still keeping an eye on them.

I loved Seasons 5, 6 and , 4 and 1 . 3 was kind of blah and 2 is no..
Thank you Dame Judy for your input. This is fiction with some parts based on fact.
Ok
Imelda Staunton for me was a horrible casting for Queen Elizabeth, I just see the cold, mean Dolores Umbridge! which is not right!
Ill miss the show it was brilliant one of the best things Netflix has done but they ended it on the right time. The last thing i wanted to watch is the markle and harry drama
Oh man i had forgotten how horrible and grotesque that performance of Margaret Thatcher was. A shame that an American woman portrait her better
It’s so funny, you’re trying to debunk what the crown presents as fact with claims you cannot say are fact either. So many of the things you’re attacking the crown on for are actually things that could or could not have happened and we actually have no actual evidence of what actually took place and so saying that it did not take place is as much a lie as saying that it did. So well done in creating a reverse but still untrue version of what you’re trying to debunk.
