I think it’s because everything is from Bella’s perspective (she rarely sexualizes herself in the book) and the movies are not made through the male gaze because they are mostly for a female audience 😅

It says in the guides for the first film about her hair. They put a hair piece in so it would take so long doing it when filming.

Fashion wise, in twilight I related to her outfits. I loved wearing henleys, skinny jeans and vintage button up tops. And when the weather seemed a bit chilly I'd throw on a puffy vest for good measure

I never dressed like this however I am in university now. I tried dressing up as Bella with things from my closet but I don’t have any zip up hoodies or sweaters like she does 🤣

It’s so underrated

Wait I have a theory about the color ! So the first film is a lot less saturated and greenish, the following films are more saturated.I think it’s supposed to be symbolic, because Edward comes into her life and brings color and happiness into her life, I didn’t explain that well sorry it makes more sense in my head

They didn’t wear any thick knitwear because there was NONE in stores at this time, which is why we layered so much and wore hoodies lol

@@halisroom same, i personally don't like her wearing dresses for two reasons: first one is that she doesn't seems attractive with dresses to me because of her physical apparence, second one is that as the tomboy i am, i don't personally like dresses or skirt or anything feminine, btw one thing i don't like about alice is that she forces bella to wear something she doesn't want to and she doesn't respect bella's preferences

for me the navy dress she wore while transition was THE best outfit from the whole series. It complemented her skin and hair so well and showed paleness of her skin in the best way possible. 10/10

I know this is SO late, but have you considered doing a similar video for Alice Cullen? It might defeat the purpose of making fun of bad fashion since Alice has some of the best costume design, but I think that it could be a good video regardless.

yeah which doesnt make sense when you consider as soon as she steps into Forks immediately everyone is obsessed with her especially the boys. i get its a small town but ive lived in small towns and have never experienced this 😂

Never noticed the change in Bella’s color palette between Edward and Jacob! So stunned by it and makes me appreciate the outfits more loved the video!

Someone may have said this already…they found the prom dress Bella wears in the first film for $20, and if I remember correctly, the cardigan’s vintage. The dresses they had Kristen Stewart wear in the earlier films seemed like a young woman trying to appear/act more feminine and older than she was in order to fit in with vampires…one thing’s for sure, I love the call backs made to the first film during the later ones. *Potential spoiler alert* It took me YEARS to figure out that the colour of the dress Bella wears after transforming is a direct homage to the prom dress. As weird as these films are plot wise, the wardrobe department = chef’s kiss. New realization (as of 5 Dec.) : Another network’s playing a Twilight marathon ( they like to rotate, it seems.) Your comment about Bella’s denouement outfit stuck in my head, and when rewatching the first movie (my forever favourite) the connection hit me. If you look closely at Edward’s outfit after he gets out of the car when they go public as a couple, the grey layers look similar to what Bella wears at the end of the last film. The part where you said, "Why did they dress her up like a mom?" was unintentionally funny, given she technically was one, lol. It makes sense that a lot of her clothes are kind of boring. She dislikes ostentatious displays on herself but admires it on the Cullens. I don't blame the stylist as much as I blame Meyer.

For 9:02 top i Personally would pair it with a denim mini skirt and black leggings or tights and maybe a brown optional long jacket~ 😋 *edit that green turtle neck was a nice touch and I love the trousers I'd love if it was maybe a skirt with that fabric/material instead hehe~ 😅😁😊

A much as I appreciate you doing this video I think I disagreed with everything you said! They chose the perfect outfits for Bella as they totally depicted what she would wear for each occasion and how she would feel and her devil may care attitude to fashion. Fashion would quite honestly be the last thing on Bella's mind! Less alone the producers trying to fit into some Twilight Core aesthetic. This is just MY personal opinion so no hate intended!!! xx

Okay but I still to this day EAT UP the outfit she wears in the final battle. The jacket is beautifully tailored to her, the silhouette is stunning and the boot finishes it off in my opinion also her hair looks the best it did in the last film imo. I loved her more refined mature looks of the last film but that also comes down to y personal taste

As someone who was in high school in Washington State in America in 2008, kangaroo chic and hooded cardigans and excessive headband use were absolutely the norm. 🤣 Henleys, flannels, skinny jeans, and converse or vans were also very normal. Snowboots when it wasn't snowing though, not so much. Thats a vans moment. Idk why she was wearing those while washing her truck.
