Covering one band and then having a deep dive into their discography ranked by yourself whose opinion if anyone has been here for a while now trusted among the metal community. Great thing about Reign in Blood back in the day of walkmans was you only had to fast forward for a few seconds to the end of the tape,flip it over and go again because the entire album was printed on both sides.South of Heaven is my favourite,not as fast as Reign but it has an evil atmosphere,mood on guitar from taking some pace off,better drum fills and lyrics.Started listening to Slayer with the release of Hell Awaits and remember how the scene went into a frenzy with the release of Reign in Blood,the benchmark at the time in Thrash,cheers.

Great ranking! Mine was a little different when I did it. I went to that Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax show in 2010 and of note Slayer were the only band with the original lineup! Cool video Eddie!

Killer stuff as always Eddie! Reign in Blood is definitely my top Slayer album too. Their entire discography is pretty solid though. Great picks and facts! Haha sweet pick you caught too! I had something similar happen with Kiss Tommy Thayer tossed a pick at me. Also had to dive for a drumstick from mastodon and got that haha.

I was really happy to see Divine Intervention that high on your list. I remember we bought both our copies together at Rock Fantasy while we in college, and we used to shout out "AWAKEN IN A WEB LIKE HELL...!!!" in the indoor pool when we took that dreaded co-ed swimming class together lol. Hey I don't know if anybody has done a thread like this..... And if not maybe you or somebody else can start it. A three thrash metal albums essential for beginners. For those kids that you can say THIS is thrash metal to the core. Making it a short list is the key, making it hard to pick. My three would be Slayer's Reign in blood, Exodus bonded by blood, and Overkill years of decay. Great slayer ranking thanks. 🤘

I really dig all the Slayer albums, except Repentless. That one sounds really mailed in. No Jeff and lazy songwriting. Reign in Blood will always be my #1.
