Is Orianna sup okay to main?

Unfortunately I found this video late and have an early day tomorrow. Before I had a pc I played wild rift and I mained her, had about 20 give or take matches and had only lost one. Been playing league on my pc now, am about level 40. Went straight to her and found it was much harder than WR and gave up so easily but I love her as a champ. Gonna return to this video tomorrow, just wanted to say thank you for making it. I had a question, but you don’t have to answer. I’m a taliyah main, and I tend to have a pretty rough time with assassins when playing her (minus yone and yasuo) is it the same for ori? If so do you have any suggestions on how to counter play that with her?

Most control mages will do well into assassins pre-6 then it becomes much more difficult. Ori has the same issues as Taliyah but isn't as strong for solo q. TALIYAH is a really great solo q champ right now. Ori feels super rewarding to execute but can feel stifling with the difficulty it takes to achieve that in a standard game. I do have lots of educational videos that will help but ultimately it just comes down to improving your basic/foundational gameplay for those matchups Welcome to League 👏

I only played Orianna in ARAM and today I decided to try her in normal games and I had a 50 cs lead over their midlaner xD Either Orianna counters Talon very hard or the Talon was very bad. Very fun champ and a more laid back playstyle (going for small leads instead of solo kills early)

in 7:14 i'm just curious why you didn't take the plate and come back with tp? note: i'm learning still note2: your videos is amazing keep it up!

TPing here is fine but I wouldn't be able to stop Vel'Koz from crashing the wave with my Lillia in base as well. (He would just full combo the minion wave and I don't want to tank the damage to hold it for a freeze) Taking the plate here doesn't change my recall since I'm still sitting on gold (I also could have bought a Dark Seal) Hence it's more valuable to reset with the extra time and get back on the map. Vel'Koz won't be able to punish me for leaving so I get to save TP for another play.

I'm trying to get into Orianna but whenever I play her it feels so weak, but when I watch you play her it feels strong 😅 Also her Q range feels so small sometimes, I just need to play her more I guess

She's really good right now, so it's an ideal time if you like control mages. Her Q range can feel weird because you're casting from the ball position but it's still based on her original position. An easy to mix it up is by casting diagonal by moving the ball through a target area instead of TO a target area. There's also the issue with her Q not being casted at max range like other mages, which causes a lot of movement errors and overrides if you're not being careful. Best of luck though!

So let me start off by saying I haven't watched the full video yet, but I def will. Sort of bedtime, but there's a few questions I have. What is the actual elo? Velkoz seems to be out of position quite often. Generally, when I'm playing this matchup he spams abilities and makes me constantly pushed wonder my tower. The thing I'm also, if not, the most interesting. You use Q + W quite often even on minions (with no items). I can't even get a kill pre lostChapter due to eventual mana issues. Never use W unless on an enemy, and even then, not always. How do you deal with the mana issues? Your recalls are actually really good, and its def something to consider for my own games. But you being 2/0/1 in early game, you should be able to at least snowball the lane m,ore than enough so I'm gonna stop at this point FOR NOW. Will def finish and search for more orianna videos Lastly, and please don't emphasise on this in any sort of way, don't even mention it if you like. Do you also do coaching sessions (for payment) ofcourse

Hovering is when you stick to one side of the lane or the side of the map that your jungler is. It's usually done so you can be close by if your jungler needs help or to maximize distance between u and the enemy jungle.

Orianna is already a really strong scaling champion, the value of Aery is supplementing your early game strength in good matchups to get into the mid-game successfully. Vice-versa, the value of Phase Rush is guaranteeing survivability to make it into the mid-late. First Strike is conditional (Long CD / First to initiate combat) and does not cover any of Orianna's weakness. (400-500gold at 20 minutes is irrelevant when considering what you lose from not taking Aery/Phase Rush) It's really important to understand the identity of your champion and how to consistently succeed with that identity.

Gold players don't think proactively about what they need to do to succeed. This is the same for everyone below Masters tbh, just play on autopilot.

Panicked LOL, realistically I do save 400-500 hp there by flashing which allows me to brute force the next play since I'm up 900g in items. (He hasn't recalled yet) Otherwise, we both just trade TPs back and it equalizes out again. Burning flash into Zac/Velkoz is definitely a mistake though.

@@Zianni Imo Amp Tome buy at 4:38 should have been Dark Seal (would save both 50 gold since it wouldn't use futures and would likely have given more value over the course of the game as you racked up quite a number of takedowns without dying, which should be the goal of a control mage like Orianna), and Sorc Shoes should have been Ionian Boots as with the durability update flat pen has been significantly nerfed whereas ability haste hasn't and Orianna very much enjoys ability haste as she tends to cast her spells as soon as they are off CD in teamfights. Also I think it would be worth noting to viewers how you are focusing on last hitting as many minions as you can. The vast majority of low elo players would not be using Orianna Q+W to last hit minions that you can't auto nearly as much as you did. Also this is very nitpicky and really isn't something I think low elo players should focus on, but at 7:16 you recalled instead of collecting the plate gold, which was completely lost because plate gold is local gold and the wave crashing in had enough minions to kill the plate, essentially setting yourself behind 160 gold for no reason (and if the argument is that you would have lost tempo to do that, I still think spending tp to regain that tempo would still be worth the 160 gold, esp. since it was pre-14 minutes so your tp was still not unleashed). And you didn't mention it but also Liandries would have likely had less value in that game because Lillia was almost certainly building the item and the damage on the item is unique, tho against that squishy of a comp Ludens was likely better regardless. Anyways, nice video.

@@danielzavala3746 Yes and yes. Basically any mage who can utilize the ability haste is going to prefer Ionian boots over Sorc Shoes. Now a few champions like Akali will still prefer Sorc Shoes since those champions makes terribly poor use of ability haste, but most prefer Ionian now after the durability update.

What you get out of Q: 30 damage per rank , .75 CD each rank (ability to reposition ball), 50% AP ratio What you get out of W: 45 damage per rank, 5% MS slow/speed up each rank, 70% AP ratio (An extra 20 damage damage for every 100 AP vs Q) You are gaining infinitely more value from Q points than W. If you want to put two points W early, you can. I'd rather you just Q/W/Q first 3 levels.

This will NOT work in Bronze/Silver/Gold. Orianna is literally the worst midlaner in low elo. I just played a game where the enemy assasin ganked bot 5 times and our ori basically took 1 plate. Get good at kata, akali, ahri and then play what you want when you get to high gold or plat. The game was over. Dont' pick ori in real LOW ELO. I dont' think this is silver or below because they NEVER FF EVER.
