Duk dived! Should have been booked. Was a shirt pull, but wasn’t a penalty - it’s in the rules about pulling and denying goalscoring opportunities(DOGSO) and the player being impeded. The difference with Goldson vs Aberdeen was that he was impeded and denied the opportunity as he ran toward the goal (now direction of play comes into it). The Aberdeen player should have hit the deck and the ref would have probably given it, but the fact he broke away from Cantwell and stayed on his feet changes things.

Big Congrats for Rangers to win Scottish League Cup after 12 years of ages. They cant win even when Steven Gerrard was incharged for this Club in this League Cup Competition ( not talk about League and other Domestic Competition) and under Clement after just 2 months of incharged for this Team he already lifted the Trophy. I think Steven Gerrard was not just so special not say he is not good but all his achievement was achieveable for someone who just invested for his Team... You know what i meant..

Fair enough we got the win but the shooting was shocking and only reason we scored was a goalkeeper blunder. A trophy is a trophy on the day but the screw needs tightened now

Your keeper was fantastic, we probably would have won 3 or 4-0 were it not for him. Also we didn't necessarily play poor, you never threatened us at all so our midfield and defence were excellent. Our finishing has been a problem all season though.

Rangers edged us out over the 90 min, attacked with more composure. Dissapointing, we know Aberdeen can be better, but Rangers back line is improved and the new manager brings a stronger mentality. Dons need to prove we can be the best of the rest and return to this type fixture more confidently with a playmaking approach and a range of attacking strategies.

I give all my respect to rangers, they won fair and square but sometimes it can be a bit annoying watching them 😅 the ref was a bit dodgy as well in my opinion. I don’t support rangers or Aberdeen but it felt like Aberdeen players would fall and not get a free kick, where as rangers would do the exact same thing 2 seconds later and get a free kick. And it felt the same for corners. Anyhoo well done rangers 👏

Rangers defiantly got the rub of the green in terms of fouls. Many of them just run-of-the-mill challenges that never warranted a foul in the first place. However, Aberdeen were really poor in this game and offered nothing going forward. And the better team won. Aberdeen fans must be raging after watching that.

Apparently a piss poor final with next to no quality on show. I know Celtic are mince just now and Rangers are consistent in terms of results (fair play for that and for the result in Spain) but the consistency in terms of quality from both is lacking. Looks like it’ll be the best of a bad bunch for the league this season unless there’s a good January window. Ps stonewaller at the end imo with Butland going through the back of Duk but we won’t go there!😂

I don't support either of the Old Firm, but I dislike Rangers and how the fanbase clings on for dear life to their history after the club dissolved. No point mentioning the suspicious penalties for and against them either, refereeing is corrupt in Scotland across the board - it is what it is. A trophy won is a trophy won at the end of the day, congrats to Rangers; unlucky Aberdeen. On another day if the refereeing decisions went differently the result would reflect that.

Their assets were sold to another business, their players were TUPE'd to another business, they terminated contracts for players not willing to move to the new business, because the original business was being dissolved. Reads like a new business to me. I'm not sure what else you'd call it if not a new club. Feel free to source your statement that every football authority in Europe acknowledges they are the exact same club.

@mb_mb_1238 assets are bought and sold throughout the game constantly. That is the business off football. However, football clubs are mostly institutions, in which their survivability depends on fan base. For that reason, you can never kill a club like Rangers, no matter how hard you try.
