Ranger Prerunner Build EP4: Off-road Shocks are Mounted!
The Ranger Prerunner reached an important milestone! It is always a good feeling to get the shocks mounted on one of these trucks. In this weeks video, we go over the shock mounts, bumpstops, and some additional structures that Christian has been working on!

You guys are doing a great job considering Jake out of town and still providing great content. The explanation about fully bumping the shock package, the mount design, bumpstop mounting and removing the delrin are all the little things that dont get spoken about, more of things like that and why you do something as your explaining the progress is brilliant!🤙🤙 Keep it up!

man, i don't know a whole lot when it comes to building pre-runners. While watching this video, I felt like I was getting some really good insider knowledge.
I've been subscribed and watching for about 2 years now and the amount of progress you two have made is inspiring. Keep up the great work and can't wait for the next video!

That is awesome to hear! Good luck on the build!!
Also you need to build at bottom out for proper angle. So shocks are always progressive and at 90* at bump and it’s not going degressive. 👌
Good professional welding great work, looks real nice and expensive That’s for sure .👍
Looking good guys !!
Could you guys show how you go about notching? I got the hole idea and a tube notcher but I always end up shorter than I wanted for that perfect fit.
You two seem to have such a great working relationship. Mutual respect goes a long ways. Beautiful fab work, keep it up! 👍
Love the series boys. I’m learning a lot and it’s fun to watch at the same time never stop the channel!🤝
That Ranger is Looking Nasty….Great Work and Great Videos as always
The LEGEND is doing some very nice work!!!!!
Good work as usual guys!!
Love the videos and progress you and your brother have done with your fabrication! And I love the way you both explain everything very thoughtful but I have wondered how you make all the cuts for all the tubes to go together. Ex. The junction in the back and all the notching I would love to learn more about how you do that. Thank you in advance
Ryan is going to have one bitchin ranger! Killer work!

Can you go over the cage to fame tie in. Under the cab
@WingsWorldChannel

Will do! Christian still has some stuff to wrap up under the cab, we will take a look at everything when he gets to that area!
I've been wondering something about trophy trucks. Is there a way to put a weighted gyroscope in the center of the truck like the sea keeper gyro for boats. I just keep thinking it's the next step in trophy truck evolution to have a self stabilizing maybe even some extra air control effect. Maybe that gyroscope could even just house the spare tire as the weight. I scene this video on a Nissan fwd race car that used a flywheel for extra physical boost. But that spins way faster than what I'm envisioning.
Fuel injected 5.0 with a c4 an you might have something ...
Could you share the distance between the uppers links at the frame and the length of the upper links? Need a reference for setting up my 4 link. Thanks!
@WingsWorldChannel
Жыл бұрын
These parameters are going to be different for each vehicle! I would do some research into anti-squat and anti-dive characteristics of a 4 link system to get you going in the right direction. There is already some great content on youtube about this!
Those aren’t welds. That’s art
Do the tires clear the lower links
Have you guys decided pinion angle yet? Or how did you come up with it. Does the engine and trans have to be in the final location before you do the backhalf? Great series.
I know nothing about off road suspensions so this is a legitimate question. If you are running a 16 inch shock with an 18 inch shock what’s the purpose of that?
@bigworm6442
Жыл бұрын
Generally speaking in a trailing arm suspension you’ll have a longer bypass shock than the coil over. It’s usually a packaging solution.
@rpm427sc
Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind the bypass will extend/compress more then the coil over since its further away from the pivot point on the chassis.
@ryanburget4434

@@rpm427sc ahh I was kind of wondering that after I looked at it for a while thanks for the answer!
@WingsWorldChannel
Жыл бұрын
Exactly what rpm said! If you think about the trailing arm as a line moving in an arc, the bypass will travel more since it is located further downstream from the pivot point, therefore it strokes more. I hope this is helpful for your understanding!

Don't remember if you mentioned this in a previous video, are you adding a rear sway bar to the build?

Yes! We briefly spoke on it in this video but the truck is definitely getting one!
Is all the tube work DOM tubing?

Definitely understand where you are coming from! Trying to find a way to incorporate more fab work into the videos again but it has been difficult since I am living out of town currently and film these videos when I am home! Will try to get something in the works

How much $$ Does Ryan have into the build?
