It is not that expensive, if you don't spec all the options it is cheaper than Arteon. But yeah i agree, you can make it twice the base price just by adding some options, but then again in my opinion it is best Range Rover, just due all those new electronic stuff that old RR really needed.
OMG! Is that road for real? 1:21 With that waterfall in the background? I wanna go there. Right now.

Agere wholeheartedly needs something with a bit of energy and sophistication not some limp string garbage. Mike Oldfield's 'Airbourne' would have been nicer.
The Speaker and Seat ventilation holes have a Union Jack in their pattern. Nicely done !
Driving when using a mobile phone is considered dangerous yet cars are now coming out with two 10inch touchscreens...

Decent review. Looks great. Is that Norway ?
what is that red color on the velar callled? and does it come in this color from the factory or is it a paintjob?
I own an evoque and had a sport as well and there are 2 big problems 1) Gearbox is very dull and slow. 2) Reliability is still an issue with expensive parts and labour costs. They need to make this right very fast or they will be beaten by the competitors.

Very negative people out here give it a chance please ,at least the indicators work on LR products .I thought BMW had a recall on the not working on them
What is the difference between range rover sport autobiography and range rover sport supercharged???
So which one is better the sport or the velar
Great video and what a stunning looking vehicle..look no further than here
Great Video!
Which road is it in Norway?
I have owned 3 Jags and 2 Range Rovers. Except for a lousy ZF 9 speed tranny in the Evoque (did not break, just disliked programming) that made me trade it in for a Range Rover Sport , these have been the MOST RELIABLE cars I have owned. Far better than BMW, ETC
Like that house at the beginning.
I like this reviewer. Never seen him before, he did a good job and is pretty entertaining. Also to the editor.....dude fade in the music after the talking parts and dont use the exact same piece of a song every time!!!

Can anyone tell me where this car fits in to the market, I mean the sport's rivals are x5, gle ect.. and the Range Rovers rivals are Q7, XC90 ect... so where does this fit?

Velar's rivals are F-Pace, X3, Q5, XC60 and GLC
@henrypattinson9118

It dosen't fit. It costs as much as an X5 or GLE when they have comparable engines, but is more the size of the X3 or GLC. With the 240 hp 2.0 diesel the Velar starts at £53k. The X5 25d and GLE250 starts at 50k.

I've had nine Range Rovers including a Long Wheel Base . All had the ex GM V8 , and not one Breakdown !! And it is the same engine that , Reoco, that won Jack Brabham his World Championship !!
You got some awesome roads
I am having a hard time choosing between this or the acura mdx
Stunning car
one of the most beautiful cars
It would have been nicer if they could have put the door handles into that waistline just above. I feel like suicide doors would have suited it to, would certainly make child seats easier
It's gorgeous .
just one word to say 'gorgeous'
I'm totally in love with the front end but the rear makes me feel sick! Doesn't match AT ALL
Gorgeous !!!!
Not a word about the nav system. In the 2016 Evoque it"s so bad. Like a Garmin back in the 2006's
I do like the interior, but prefer Evoque's exterior stilling
Imagine maintaining this
Well auto express took the red one and auto trader the Gray one
Head to head Velar vs RR Sport
Not bad with face golf
This is my dream car
this channel does so much promotion stuff for JLR that you can't believe they are capable of doing a proper balanced review.
old rovers are unreliable , but it's not the case with new ones , if you keep them serviced you have nothing to worry about , and all these bitches who keep complaining can't afford these cars and just blab like idiots because someone told them . and no matter what you think , this car is the best looking SUV in the market ,

"and no matter what you think , this car is the best looking SUV in the market" But that's quite literally an opinion lol so it does matter what people think, no? I think the entire Land Rover/Range Rover range looks pretty average, and would rather an F-Pace, E-Pace, X5, Macan, Cayenne, Levante or Stelvio over any of them.

Old Rovers actually are reliable. i own a first year Range Rover Sport and i also work in Land Rover/Jaguar service. i see countless of those come in with close to 300k miles that still run like brand new. it's all in how you take care of your vehicle, no matter the brand
Looks good in the first edition version (for an SUV) but the other versions look...weird. Also, touch screens look great and feel futuristic, but if you've got kids (like most Range Rover owners) and they put their hands all over the dash and the crap on their hands glints in the sun or interior light.....not a good look
I want to get this car, but he kept saying it's quiet. Wtf... the f pace has grunt to it.
In minutes 1.21 Who notes that there is rapture on steering wheel isn't strange the car still new
Came here to comment on that transition music but I see it's already been covered. Jesus Christ man
that music playing after every talking bit is almost a gag at this point.

Three diesel engine available! For decades European governments promoted and subsidized diesels, yet the newest evidence shows that they are a major contributor to air pollution. Now in some places diesels are being banned. Perhaps you could do a video drawing together the current state of diesels and if they still have a future.
I want one so bad, but i still feel worried about land rover extremely obnoxius reliability, since one of my relatives had a LR3, they told me It died on the road 3 times in a ROW! they got rid of the LR3 2 months ago, and now they just buy acura and lexus ...
Anyone else think it's a little overstyled? I dunno, I kind of miss the boxy Land Rovers of yore.
Now I have to buy it.... VELAR is RALEV written backwards 8)
The 380 horsepower version is not worth the money . They should have given it more power like around 485 - 510 horsepower.
naaa... I think I ll wait for the range rover space shuttle model!

The rear of the Discovery is ungainly. However, I drove one for the weekend, including towing my daughter's horsebox to a show, and it is incredibly competent. It's twice the car the Disco 4 was and the nicest place in the world to do some towing.
6 months later break down ?? Lol my mates , brand new $300k autobiography didn't last 12 hours before it was off the road for a week ! Appalling
What the hell is the point of an SUV if u can't fit anyone in it!?
All that glitter isn't gold.

The interior is an attempt to copy a Tesla. I like minimalist too but SOME actual buttons found in the proper Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are quite nice. Also, why have they put the handbrake over where your knee is? That is not very intuitive. So instead of one touch screen we have two fiddly touch screens to play with. Also pop out door handles? Really? I can only hope that JLR don't apply this to the next incarnation of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. No extra fiddly screens!
@07Corcaigh

Mike B how is it a copy of Tesla's interior? It doesn't have a ginormous screen with crap build quality.

There's an old adage came from Steve Jobs actually, "people don't know what they want until you show it to them" If 'Every car maker' all decide to copy the tesla dashboard tablet gimmick then the manufacturers will continue to just blend into one as they are doing. I am convinced the Velar was conceived to compete with the Tesla. Just as the evoque was designed to lure Audi TT owners.
The music is driving me to distraction. Whoever edited this should be fired.

Yeah,..because it's greatly improved these days. Stop living in the 80s. We've had JLR products in our household for 15 years nearly, no problems with reliability or quality whatsoever. But of course KZread experts are so much more knowledgeable than everyone else.
@rayaanshaikh5830
6 жыл бұрын
Thats not true - perhaps you got away with decent ones. But every Range Rover or Jag in my family - so about 12 in the past 6 years has had issues. But then, I drive a Lexus so maybe I'm being unfair.
@rayaanshaikh5830
6 жыл бұрын
When did I say I personally had 12 Jags/Land rovers? I said members of my family has had them. They keep buying them because they're used to them or like the brand image and have historically bought only Jags/LR - probably helps that some of them work for JLR and therefore get 25%+ off list price. Unreliable cars do not bankrupt a company, in fact, they do quite the opposite - they bring in a lot of revenue and there is an element of psychology involved whereby customers are brought into the showroom to fix a car and end up liking another one, hence more sales.
Chavtastic! I wouldn't be seen dead in one.
Literally all of the guys saying reliability is not an issue are people who actually do not own a rover. They will say I have friends or know people who own and don't face issues. BULLSHIT! Heck even when a rover owner says that they have faced issues they will try to nit pick and will point to hearsay that may be theirs was an exceptional case or they didn't take proper care of their rover. Fucking bullshit. Stop being blind fanboys. As much as I love Rovers and going to lease Velar as soon as it is out, their reliability is indeed an issue. And don't say they are as bad as Germans, I own and Audi and I can tell you that wear and tear is not that bad. They have a bad reputation for a reason. It isn't like people are complaining just to hate on them.
@Alan_Mac

So the 100,000 trouble-free miles I've done in my Range Rover, including pulling a horse box for aybe 15,000 of those is fiction? I've had a Disco and a RR - never had bother with either.
What's with the stupid music in between the talking, not needed and very naff
Lol who wants a jag or lr lol. Mercedes G550 or BMW 7 series
hummer jeep ....is alays king ....
Thanks for the review. Based on exterior design and interior styling, the Velar is the only current SUV I would swap my Peugeot 3008 SUV for. Whilst the F Pace and Macan perform far better than my 3008, their interior styling is dull by comparison. In my price range I chose the 3008 over the Seat Ateca because I value comfort and interior styling over performance. It would be the same with the Velar, if I could afford one. For me, the exterior and interior of the Velar are so much better than it's rivals. Sod the bigger wheeels, though.
land rover a midas touch, I've enjoyed my vehicle,the problem is these overpriced vehicles with terrible reliability. take your landrover to the dealership and get ready for sticker shock again. repair bills are ridiculous. I have sixty five thousand miles,am due for service which I get diferent prices for, from 3000 to six thousand dollars. the hood alarm goes off costantly,hood sensor,400 dollar repair. air suspension is going out,a landrover regular problem and expensive fix. emergency brakes make shrieking noises when you set it,and lastly the high quality land rover dash developed 4 huge cracks, 3000 dollar repair at 36000 miles. does landrover take care of issues. never unless you pay double what normal cars cost to repair. buy a landrover and enjoy giving the English your money. crap cars by a crap company. next 4x4 will be a chevrolet. at least repairs as service are resonable.

Dave Solis dealer ships are always over priced. You're better off going to a private shop. I know multiple people that drive over 25k miles a year and they love their range rovers. All they have done are basic wear and tear stuff. It's been cheaper for them to own a range rover than other cars.

POS
Everything Land Rover jaguar touches is refined. Lmao such crap. A brand that depreciates faster then a diaper filled with shit. Range stuff is expensive to fix and don't last. These are gonna be at the dealers all day. Find used ranges with 15k miles or less for half price or better. No one keeps these things. Money or no money ppl don't keep.
