    very helpful , considering for basic service local charges starting from E550, with the excuse that apart from the oil change they connect the vehicle on their PC to check any other warnings...

    So one question that is controversial? I was looking to change the oil in between services as I dont really do many miles so for cost of some fresh oil and a pump I might as well do this at home in between, 6L out 6L in, I was not going to bother changing the filter for this interim, just doing the oil more so to negate the oil dilution possibility that often plagues the 3.0TDV and SDV6 well any of the DPF fitted cars. The oil filter is the biggest pain as its one of those cartdridge type and just wants to throw old oil over the engine. What are people thoughts as the oil had only covered 3K since last service and that most of the mileage for the year anyway, just wondering if there really is a need to do the filter for an interim service or is it changing it just for the sake of it? TIA

    Hello, owner, are the tools and filter elements in your teaching video suitable for 2019Land Rover Sport diesel engines? Waiting for your reply, thank you

    A pneumatic(air) extractor will get all but a few drops of oil out, hand pumps dont quite create as much vacuum as a pneumatic so not quite as effective

    ....the dealer always uses the extractor......they never, ever raise the car and spend 20 min removing lower cover. Range Rover added the extractor for a reason.

    Is this really takes 16000s miles to next services?

    No! Do oil change every 5-6k miles on these vehicles. You wonder why they don’t last 100k miles or wonder why they are so cheap when they get older, it’s bc of bad maintenance intervals by the dealers.

    Absolutely not. I go 5k miles on the L405 with the Supercharged v8. Cheap insurance.

    With full synthetic oil. Change it 3k no more than 5k miles. The dealership will say every 20k. Mercedes says the same. They do that to make money. So ever 3k no more than 5k with full synthetic

    You need to be changing your oil every 5k miles, just bc the dealers say 15k miles or even 10k that’s nonesense!!!!!!!!!

  • @Chewie374
    @Chewie3745 ай бұрын

    Never change your oil at 10k miles. Never. You will.destroy your engine. With full synthetic,.change it every 3k no more than 5k.

    I own a Land Rover...and it is astonishing that LR recommends such long service intervals. Your Range Rover wants 16.5k miles, which is ridiculous. Then Land Rover / Range Rover customers wonder why the engines fail. I agree with you... shorter intervals is mandatory to keep these engines happy. The difference, I use approved Liqui-Moly engine oils. Nice video.

    If only I could teach my wife to do this, or at least start by learning how to check the oil....🫣
