Would an L322 sump work in a P38?

did you count the axle ratios? there is a problem - 3.54 and 6gs53dz... the axles should be 3.07 ratios. I am looking for a company in Poland that will make new elements

Yes I increased my tyre size to 33” to compensate for this. Ideally if you could get ring and pinion 3.0 instead of 3.54 this set up would be fine on normal street tyres and I contacted Ashcrofts transmissions in the UK who specialises in this kind of stuff but the P38 is such a niche vehicle that they don’t make anything like that for this. If you are successful with the Polish company let me know as I’d be interested. Once this P38 is up and running with the new engine and gearbox set up I’ll post videos of how it drives and what the gear shifting is like etc.

@@tompage I also asked aschcroft, there are 3 companies in Poland that can make additional axle parts, but it is very expensive. My p38 currently has R380 gearboxes and 33 inch tires - this is not a good combination, I have the flywheel and pressure plate from the m57, the clutch disc is from the p38.,hydraulic clutch release is from kia carnival

How expensive is very expensive for both axles? Yeah the r380 box is far too soft, if it was stronger I’d have put an earlier M57 engine into mine.

Jaysus!!! Hardly worth it pal. I’ll let you know how it drives with the 33’s. We cooked the figures on the ratios with the tyres I have before I ever started the project and it didn’t fair out too bad so will put up a few videos of how it drives and shifts once the vehicle is finished.
