Today it is time to visit a new place.
Today I will take you all to a new offbeat destination of North Bengal.
This time we will be travelling to Rangaroon- an offbeat destination located just 16kms away from Darjeeling.
Rangaroon is a calm and quite village surrounded with tea gardens, mountains and great green pine trees.
So let’s see how to reach Rangaroon:
To reach Rangaroon first take a train from Sealdah / Howrah/ Kolkata Station and reach NJP railway station or Siliguri Junction.
From NJP station take an auto and reach Junction and if you are coming to Siliguri Junction then no need to worry.
From Juction take a share cab which is going towards Darjeeling and reach Jorebunglow.
Rs 250 per head In Share cab..
From Jorebunglow you will not have any share cab options so it is better if you inform the HomeStay beforehand so that they can arrange for the private cab.
Rs 700 private cab..
Now lets see where to stay in Rangaroon..
As this is an offbeat destination always book the homestay / hotel prior to coming in this place.

Now lets see how to spent the rest of the day at Rangaroon.
So freshen up and have your lunch and take some rest.
Around 3 pm go for a village walk.
You will see the majestic mountains and birds chirping every now and then.
This will surely cheer you up and dont just stop there as after some time you can see a heritage site which is the Tea Factory.
Built in 1929 by the British in India is indeed something that you must visit.
The factory was in production for a very long time but unfortunately it is now closed.
Local people are trying hard to reopen it and get it back in production again.
This way you can spend the first day in Rangaroon but that is not all.
Next week I will show you the Rungdung River of Rangaroon so dont miss that.
