I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury when I wrecked my Harley in 1989. With an unbelievable amount of help from my lady managed to stay out of the permanent care facility. If you were to meet me today you would have no idea what I went through 31 years ago. If you are a caregiver of someone who is going through recovery of this listen up; Don't set the goals too high. At the same time don't ever take no for an answer. Baby steps will still get you where you're going. It just might take a little longer than it used to. Know that you'll appreciate simple things like never before. Be patient and take notice of the simple improvements like being able to hold your own fork and eat. It's a long road so hang in there.

As a brain injury survivor, I feel his pain in a way of life not being what it was. But things do get better with a lot of hard work, and time. Let's not forget the grieving process that all brain injury survivors deal with of finding themselves again. I pray for a continued recovery for Randy and such a Blessing his wife to stay by his side. That's one really special relationship there. @@teeganmcpherson8690 I have 2 brain injuries actually. Brain hemorrhage at Birth which left me with epilepsy and visual impairment. Fast forward 30 years later and I had a brain surgery to get rid of those seizures since I was having somewhere between 15-25 of them a month. I had to have almost my entire right hemisphere of my brain removed and lost almost all of the rest of my sight except light perception Which I suppose is better than nothing. I developed bacterial meningitis when I had my spinal tap test done because someone didn't clean their needles enough. I didn't find out about the meningitis later on because the hospital tried to cover themselves, but they did treat it. I'm just Blessed to be here. It took me a long time to get use to my new disabilities from the surgery. But life is still worth living even though things are different than they were before. That's why I give Travis credit for keep pushing forward.

The first song I ever heard outside my mother's womb was Diggin' Up Bones sung to me by my dad. Over a decade later, I got to go to one of Randy's concerts with my dad. It's just one of many great memories I have with my father. Like Randy, my dad had a stroke in 2013 and lost his voice. Sadly, my dad didn't make it to see another Christmas, but before it was over he did manage to get enough of his voice back to be able to sing. And wouldn't you know it, Diggin' Up Bones was one of the songs he'd sing. Till the day I die, Randy Travis's music will be synonymous with Dad. Simply can't think of one without the other.

HA HA HA....that is funny since she is the reason for his declining health, and financial problems. She was the reason for him and his first wife’s divorce. He had an affair with Mary, and when Lib found out, by planting a camera in his RV, she filed for divorce. Lib kept him from serving a 5 year prison sentence, and she managed his career from the get go. Randy had been 19 years SOBER, until he got with Mary. She became his party partner, getting him back into booze and drugs. She definitely did everything she could to keep him alive in 2013 because she was NOT his wife, and would had to have fought, in court, for the 10 million dollar life insurance policy! Being that she was the ex-wife of Randy’s DENTIST, she did not have the money for the fight. I LOVE Randy Travis, and I have since the first time I heard him, but you can lay his failing health at Mary’s feet!! Booze is bad, but when you add the Cocaine.....you get cardiomyopathy and strokes!!!

I got to meet Randy when he was just hitting it big with On The Other Hand. What a down to earth guy. I’ll never forget it was at a club in Marietta, Ga. called Miss Kitty’s . I told him I had played there too and how much I enjoyed his music. He signed a cassette case of Storms of life for me and wrote Greg, Thank You! Randy Travis. Didn’t just sign his name ! Always treasure that, it’s displayed in my home studio. Guys like him were true artist. My wife’s family had a farm in Monroe, NC so we visited Randy’s hometown. I wish Randy the best and his wife the best! Thanks for posting this video!

Randy still has the ability to entertain. He'll just have to do it a different way . I'm sure there has to be a movie/tv part he could do . Plus I'm sure he could have some say on songwriting etc. It just takes getting the right people who aren't out to use him to work with him . Lord knows I would pay just to spend time to talk to him for advise . Long ago I got to see him open up for Conway Twitty . My grandmother who mostly listen to Christian music would always stop and listen to Randy if he came on tv. She always said I like that young man . I don't know how but it always felt like my grandmother had a hotline to God when she was alive. If she was here today her advise to Randy would be give it to God and let it go. Never give up Randy there's a reason why God has you here ! Love from N.C.
