A.I. can be used for Good & Evil like anything really. I to have had a Stroke, Randy's was in his left brain which affects our right side but also our voices. People are really rude to me because my voice is distorted. If A.I. could be used for Good & only good!! I hope it can help those of us who's voices are distorted.

I feel like you can dislike the method and still respect the outcome. Watching the video for the song, Randy’s as well as so many others were so happy to have his voice coming through the speakers again that it outweighed anything else. Coming from the son of someone who has had a stroke and lost a lot of themselves, Randy would not have okayed this without really wanting it. I’m just glad to hear his voice again.

Love the fact that I wasn't the only one that cried when I heard this song and I thought that we lost Randy's tone and to hear that voice just takes me back in time. I hope that there will be a full album of new music.

I Was driving to pick up my fiance from work. And the past few months Listening to songs to describe my fiance. A song for our wedding day to dance too.streaming on Bluetooth. Right then and there I heard his voice again. I froze and put my hazards and drifted to the side of the highway. As I listened to the song tears filled my eyes. All I thought of was my fiance and Randy's voice. Priceless AI or not randy has gotten me through some tough times and tough decisions. Randy this will be. My fiances an my wedding song. We love you.

The harm in AI art comes from a lack of consent for a lot of artists whos work is unintentionally involved in training the AI algorithms and programs. However, this is one of the few cases where it can be used to give opportunity to an artist who had their ability taken away. This is the clear distinction that needs to be made in this conversation so people can understand truly what exactly Randy is doing here. Bravo to him and his team for being brave enough to try some new stuff.

I agree. And that it is openly disclosed that the artist is a result of AI. No different than citing someone work if using it to create your own document.

Great to see Randy be able to do this and enjoy his music in this way. We had the opportunity to meet Randy and his wife backstage of the Grand Ole Opry a few years ago and they are so kind and genuine. It’s something we will never forget. We love you Randy.

When i first heard the song i thought maybe it was just an old song he hadn't released before, but now i have learned how it was done i am very amazed and very happy. It is Randy's song and his beautiful voice no matter how it was done. I look forward to many more.

I absolutely love this song and have always loved your music Randy. I agree with Mary that this is a good use of AI. If a person loses a limb they are fitted with a prosthetic one so they can continue doing what they love and I feel this is the same for someone who has lost their voice. Randy is able to pick the songs he would like to sing and they used his voice from prior songs to make this one so to me this is purely coming from Randy's heart to us. Can't wait to hear the next one!

The name of the song fits how they did the recording. A response to people’s question where did that come from? 8:05 if the artist and the family are wanting to do it then it shouldn’t matter what anyone else thinks. All artists should have in a contract or some kind of will that states if their voice can be used with AI once they can’t talk for themselves. James Earl Jones gave Lucasfilm permission to continue to use his AI generated voice for Darth Vader so Vader can live on.

It doesnt matter what anybody else thinks, Randy thinks its okay, his family and friends are happy with it so get over it. AI isnt for everyone, but this situation is special

I have nothing but love and admiration for Randy Travis. He’s one of my country music heroes and a big part of the reason I became a country artist. My problem is that this is not Randy Travis. It is an A.I. representation (imitation/fabrication) of Randy’s voice. We are headed down a very slippery slope with A.I. being used in this way. I believe (and fear) that one day in the not too distant future this will become so mainstream that we will have A.I. “performances” filling the airwaves on radio. That will be a profoundly sad day indeed. For me…the whole reason for singing and playing is for the enjoyment of the human expression through real human vocal chords producing amazingly sweet sounds that captivate us and move our hearts. We are talking about an ARTFORM….and the singing art in particular can only be truly achieved by human singers stepping up to a microphone and actually singing. I will never be able to support or become a fan of any computerized re-creations of any singers that I love. For me, it’s gotta be the real deal or I can’t pay it any mind. For the rest of my life, I will continue to enjoy listening to Randy’s records…just as I have always done. As for A.I. technology? I hope and pray it will be controlled and used only for very good and important things. Meanwhile, I also sincerely hope and pray that we humans will go back to accepting reality rather than trying to deny it.

I agree... I see new "music" from the greats including Elvis, Hank Williams Jr., Prince, etc. As cool as this song is and so wonderful to hear Randy Travis again, it's taking the entire artistic humanity out of the music. AI performed this one, not Randy. He seems happy though...

Anything that will give us Randys voice again with him being involved is worth it in my opinion. I didnt realize how much i missed country music until i heard this new song. i stopped listening to country when all the new rap/pop/rock filtered in... this is real country music and his voice is instantly iconic and beautiful

I think it's wonderful no different than auto tune. I hope this record makes him a lot of money because we haven't heard real country music for years and I hope he records more.

It’s totally different that autotune. Autotune brings you to the correct pitch. AI is a lot more complicated. It’s actually singing for you

Ai or Not. Randy Travis is one of my musical heroes one of the greatest singers ever!!

I was very sceptical of AI because a lot of the time it can be used without permission from people. This shows that it has been used in a good way because Randy himself has given approval to this and obviously wants to continue making music. God bless him and his wife and family.

I was that fan who just heard the song and knew nothing of how it was produced, thought it was Randy Travis. Either way it can be a positive thing because it could help bring new fans to the old music of his.

Randy gave AI soul. It is remarkably good. All this gives the song tremendous Heart.

How does it work?

AI is literally using his own voice from his songs/interviews etc to my understanding. In my opinion as long as the artist gives consent to use their own voice data AND makes it known to the public that it is A.I. (since they are paying for it) I don't personally see a problem with it. If Randy is happy with it, I'm happy for him.

I think his wife is just wonderful.

In this case, AI is bringing new material for a real voice, even though that might be a bit ironic to other people. That IS his real "was" voice, it just isn't his "now" voice. There are other artists who have lost their voices due to health issues, that I would love to get a chance to hear again.

My opion is AI would be alright to be used with singer's with vocal disabilities such as a major stroke or lost of vocal cords because of cancer ! ! If the artist and producing companies agree upon it and it works out for each and everyone than by all means go for it ! I also believe it would be good for healing and recovery medically such as physically and mentally ! ! If AI can be a positive out look for living singing Legends that agrees upon it for the good of their recovery , wellness , and lifes profession being a famous singer such as "Randy Travis " , Have some understanding and compassion on this great "Legend " , that his life was his voice being a wonderful famous country singer and song writer until his voice was taken from a major stroke that nearly killed him ! !

My only problems with AI in music is number one he won't be able to tour and support the new music like they said people using it for the wrong reasons but as long as the artist is here and can give their blessings for the process and use then why not.

In this use case, I believe using AI in music is acceptable, Randy was involved with the project. I do not believe it would be acceptable for the same technology to be used to make music from Keith Whitley.

There are so many things about A.I. that scare me, but this is not one of them. This is what A.I. is for. Randy is back! I watched the making of this song, and everyone worked very hard to use A.I. properly and carefully, with Randy there every minute.

To me, it is not much different than what’s been done in studios on 16th Avenue. All the tech can make a poor voice sound wonderful. I say hallelujah if we can hear Randy again. After all, it will be his actual voice, just arranged via AI, correct?
