Randy has a classic country voice. He is a true legend.
This is when country music really was country music. In my opinion, artists like Randy Travis, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, George Strait, and Alan Jackson are some of the best of all time.

Not according to this guy's list of male country singers, (who called himself the storyteller). Randy didn't even make the list. I fully agree with you though. How anyone can leave Randy off of that kind of list is either hearing impaired or simply don't like real country music. Randy's catalog of music is nothing but full of great storytelling songs.

Country needs to go back to its roots. Everyone has their favorites but 90% of it doesn't sound like country anymore. A little country/rock is fine but not all the time. Love Randy Travis. Pray for continuing healing and recovery.

Possibly greatest song ever written
This song rocks! I mean country ! ha ha ha.
I may try this. I wanted to share that the Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and because of our sin against a holy God, we are all worthy of His just and eternal wrath. But God, being rich in mercy, took on flesh and lived 33 years, a sinless life, and He willingly laid His life down. Then three days later, He took it up again rising from the dead. This is the good news of Jesus Christ, the gospel. The only way anyone can be saved is to repent and believe in the gospel alone.
Looser Folks are the best folks ! I fully agree ! These damn social media narcissist get on my damn last nerves always stunting
Thank you Randy. There is no other singer I would rather sing along with!

Anyone who knows me know I am no fan of country music. I'll always be a punk rocker at heart but I've always had a soft spot for Randy Travis!
The best of the best. His voice ties with that of Keith Whitley as having the best voice in music. He was also cute when he was younger. If I would have been a little bit older back in Randy’s hey day I would have been just as obcessed with him as what I was new kids in the block
Randy cowrote this 1 with Alan Jackson. Hit #1 in Billboard, 2-15-92. God bless ya, brother Randy!
My favorite line is “You say the grass is greener on the other side but from where I stand I can’t see grass at all.” I wish Randy and Alan Jackson wrote more songs together-She’s got the Rhythm(and I got the blues) was also them together.

The first time I heard this beauty of a song was (ironically) at the Grammy nominations - and the hook captivated me instantly. BCoL was a top-class country music track, both lyrically and performance-wise. Somehow, I'd missed 'High Lonesome' (1992) - and I'd never missed an album by Randy before that. But in the '90s, country music rarely made it to foreign shores early enough. Vince Gill's eventually won the Grammy Awards in 1993 (I Still Believe In You), but this treasured CD by Randy Travis still has pride of place in my cabinet.
This sums things up perfectly. Randy and AJ hit a grand slam with these lyrics and Randy's voice is about as fine as it gets.
Good Song.

LYRICS [Verse 1] I'm gettin' out of this high-rise penthouse suite Where we pretend life's rosy and sweet I'm going back to the folks that I used to know Where everyone is what they seem to be And these high class friends that you like to hang around When they look my way they're always looking down And I'm tired of you spending every dime I make To finance this way of life I've learned to hate [Chorus] I'm going back to a better class of losers This up-town living's really got me down I need friends who don't pay their bills on home computers And they buy their coffee beans already ground And you think it's disgraceful that they drink three dollar wine But a better class of loser suits me fine [Verse 2] You said the grass was greener on the other side But from where I stand I can't see grass at all And the concrete and the steel won't change the way you feel And it takes more than caviar to have a ball [Chorus] I'm going back to a better class of losers This up-town living's really got me down I need friends who don't pay their bills on home computers And they buy their coffee beans already ground And you think it's disgraceful that they drink three dollar wine But a better class of loser suits me fine Yes a better class of loser, just suits me fine

I was lucky to see Randy Travis at the Allentown, Fair in Pennsylvania years ago. Pam Tillis opened for him. My dad took me to the show and it's one of the nicest memories I have with my Dad who's now 78. I've been a fan of Randy from the very beginning and still am! Still love his classic style of country. I miss country music like this! Don't understand how anyone gave this a thumbs down. This is what country music is supposed to sound like!
