I had a Haunted House in my collection of pinball machines for a little while before it went to another good home to have FUN with and enjoy. I remember it came from a home in Livingston NJ and was located in a large basement with a tight staircase with many stairs. It was one of the heaviest pinball machine I ever remove from a basement, except for a Bally 6 card Bingo Pinball Machine called DIxieland. It is a great player and looker. Sometimes wish I never let it go. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Haunted House with us.

I've never played much pinball, maybe 5 times in my 65 years of life on this earth but this pinball I am going to play when I come down. I love the lower and upper levels are trap doors and yes, the haunted music. I'm a Vincent Price fan and I think of him when I hear haunted music along with the curtains on fire and he plays and plays the piano. Classic. Thank you Randy. Excellent video.

Subb'd. You know I've probably played Haunted House in the real world maybe 15-20 times over my life and maybe 500 times via VR VPX and never knew about that secret passage! HH is a manic game when playing but it remains one of my favorites thanks to the theme and absolutely beautiful design and graphics. That backglass is a true work of art! And yeah the music is stunning...

We have something in common. I also got my first pinball when I was 11. It was 1987 and the game was the 1978 Phoenix. I got it from a want ad in the newspaper for 300 bucks. I can't imagine how much they want for one of those now.

I played Haunted House a lot in the 80's, it was my favourite machine for a while, then one day I popped into the arcade that had it to find someone had put white rubber bumper bands between some of the posts at the top left corner to stop the ball rolling down into the hole that kicked the ball onto the upper table and the one to the cellar. That was annoying enough, but the next time I went back they'd altered one of the bands to block access to the to cellar hole from below and also stretched a band between the posts to block the tube hole down from the top table to the bottom and the trap door wasn't working, but they'd overlooked the secret passage, so I was still able to get the ball down to the bottom table. Then while I'm playing it this guy rushes out a door next to the machine from a small room behind it and stands behind me, watching me play it for a few minutes and sees me get the ball in the cellar again. So next time I go back there's a band between the two posts at the bottom of the ramp, blocking off the top table and I can't activate the secret passage anymore. I got a glimpse in the back room once and I think there might have been a portable TV in there, and I'm guessing it might have interfered with the guy watching daytime TV. I gave up on the machine for a week or two, but remembered the ball once having jumped up on top of the surround in the left hand corner near the "To Cellar" sign and somehow rebounded and landed above the hole that kicked the ball up into the top table, so I took a close look and worked out how to do it on purpose and was able to get the ball in the top table again (I think he'd removed the band blocking the hole from the top to the bottom table to re-use to block the ramp). I played it a couple more times after that, but the last time I was with my brother and he distracted me and I let the ball drop down the ramp where it became trapped on the band that had been put between the posts and the cashier didn't want to know and it was still like that many weeks later. They had another pinball machine they'd also sabotaged on the opposite side of the room, which for some bizarre reason had two long lengths of wood screwed to the two back feet by wood screws to make stilts. The proper height adjustment threads on the feet were screwed most the way in, but the machine was still tilted forward ridiculously steeply and was extremely wobbly. I tried it once in spite of that and the flippers couldn't propel the ball more that a third the way up the table, and the tilt sensor was so sensitive you had to steady the machine and be super gentle pressing the buttons.

Very interesting story... I can't imagine why they didn't want the ball going down unless there was some problem which would disable the machine... But since you say you hit it down there anyway, and it didn't kill the machine, it is hard to guess a reason why anyone would go to the trouble like that. The high back legs is not unheard of. I knew a big boardwalks operator who had a raiser where his pinballs were at every location he had... It was not on each leg, but all machines has their back legs in this raiser lifting them for a very steep slant. He wanted a fast play, and yes, the Flipper's had to fight again that up hill. He made more money then any of us who did not put a steep hill on our pinballs and people played them. Not sure why

I do like the video. I enjoyed it a lot more when you settled down and stopped being the cranky old arcade guy complaining about... everything? Perhaps that's just how it is, but when you settled down and just shared your knowledge you really blossomed. Until the end when the cranky guy came back. LOL Take this for what it is. You be you. A nice cleaning and a coat of wax would help your machines greatly. Have the grandkids do it. And tell them if they mess it up they'll have to lick the electrical contacts on the solenoids while their on. 🤣

Seems you dont appreciate honesty; nothing cranky about it. And your "old arcade guy" comment is quite impertinent; thank you. I don't have any children I can use as free child labor, so I'll leave that to you to exploit on your home collection... Meanwhile, while I deal with an open forum who actually enjoy playing games without looking for something to pick about, or some free knowledge on a KZread video, I do the best I can! Thank you for your 2 cents! 😂

@@richardjohanzh it doesn't both me. Things like this both some people; I could care less. I am happy just having my machines and happy to have them working and playing for people to enjoy. If something like a bumper cap bothers someone I really only find it interesting that they are bothered by it. I don't notice it unless I am inspecting the machine. I play the game and I am happy with it just as it is.

@@MainStreetRANDYLAND I know, just kidding. Your video is very amusing and recognizable to me. My pinball machines also have similar issues, but I am happy to be able to play some pinball at home, I don't need to have the latest machines or the best versions in pristine condition...

@@richardjohanzh there are people who redo everything. Sand down sides to repaint and stencil... Re chrome, play field overlays, the list goes on and on... And after $10,000.00+, it's a like new machine that no one can play because they want to keep it brand new. So they look at it.
