Backlash 2004 was one of the textbook examples of _how to put a guy over strong!_ Mick Foley will forever be my favourite wrestler of all time, and I bet he's one of the favourites of the men he put over like Triple H (Royal Rumble 2001) and Edge (WrestleMania 22) as well, despite the pain he put them through. Mick Foley _made_ those guys by giving them the platform they needed to _prove_ they were genuine hard men who you had to take seriously.

@@nicolefew1863 91-05 Taker CARRIED the WWE about 60% of the time. Not on Mondays or Thursdays or PPV's, every day. Not sure how you'd get that opinion every single wrestler around him gives him even more respect than he gets from most of his fans even because they saw all of it. That's more of a tell than what anyone on the outside looking in thinks. Yeah he had more of a gimmick run for the last 10-12 years of his career, but he actually wrestled every night and took a lot bigger bumps for his first 20+ years in the ring... Randy doesn't do that, very rarely he has a more brutal match but never consistently, and hasn't had a big schedule for a long time. Good for him I'm not saying that's a bad thing. But Taker has still wrestled a few hundred matches more than randy... the rate randy's going thats another 5-6 years at least for him to catch up if he doesn't slow down even more. Taker wasn't a full time wrestler for 36 years but his career still almost doubled the length of Randy's so far... There's a handful of guys that have ever done that and Randy might get there but he's not there yet. Randy's most brutal match was with a guy that did what with the undertaker? How is randy a better performer in what way? I'm not saying sheer brutality makes you better but when you're talking about longevity the Undertaker's career shouldn't have even been possible it's like mixing Mick Foley with Flair for longevity and the quality of matches that they were in and he was in. No one that retired in the WWE era at least rivals Taker in that. Shawn was allowed to be a better wrestler but fizzled out sooner, so I don't think you could even say he did. I think Edge would have gotten a lot closer if he wasn't forced to take a decade off. Still all respect to Randy Orton but Taker's career highlights, low number of lowlights, dedication to the business and the company are unrivaled. Rey has a solid 5 years and he's in the conversation too as far as a wrestler but definitely doesn't rival either of them as a pure entertainer.

Remember when Randy won his first World Title at Summerslam 2004 when he won against Error 404 to become the youngest World champion ever? That was probably the best moment of his career. I wonder why it wasn't shown.

Damn, I knew they wouldn’t show clips from his first world heavyweight title win because of who he wrestled for it, but I was still hopeful of seeing him relive himself becoming the youngest world champion of all time, or at least talking about how it feels in retrospect.

It’s amazing to think about the different legends he’s wrestled with. Look as far back as Ric Flair and Undertaker, and all those they wrestled with. Triple H, who was the face of WWE and battled The Rock and Stone Cold before he ever arrived. He battled John Cena, which always seemed like a rivalry. He’s wrestled some of the top names in WWE today, like Seth Rollins. It’s no doubt he can be there another decade, so just think of the new wrestlers that come up that turn out to be legends in the business as well. It’s going to be sad when he finally ends it.

Randy Orton is one of the greatest of all time. I've heard him say before about "the little things" and you can really see it in his work, like the example here of taking his time with retrieving the title.

The last legend WWE ever built for now. I really hope there will be others like Rollins, Reigns, Owens, but this guy faced so many legendary people in his career, so many significant popular wrestlers, Randy Orton is unique, and one of the very last of a rare breed. The day he retires, will mean the end of something that was incredible.

@@sammylionel9742 Not yet that's for sure, but they have the potential. Specifically Seth Rollins in my opinion, his performance in-ring as well as on the mic is some of the best of this generation, even Randy Orton said so in this video. Every time he's in the ring, you know it's going to be a good match. And Roman has the potential to be a legend too if WWE writes him properly, and so far teaming him with Paul Heyman has been a great decision. Remember, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were both endorsed by Paul Heyman and CM Punk when they first joined the WWE. Those are two very big names in the industry, and to have both of them see you as a potential mega star is no small feat, they both clearly saw something in these two performers.

To me in my honest opinion, I think Randy is the epitome of Professional Wrestling, he’s done everything there is to do in the WWE, but he still has so much fricken energy that he can go longer and I can see that for sure, he’s done so much now but willing to do more before he calls it a career which also will be one of the best careers of All Time and will be put in the history books for sure, whether cheered or booed he has earned everyone’s respect, as a fan of his, he’s earned mine and I respect him back Congrats on 20 years Randy!!!
