I think that was why he left the band. He was just too nice of a person to deal with all that was coming down on them. They were becoming so popular, that it seemed to un-nerve him. I'm glad that he seems to be happy. I just hope that he truly is, considering the loss of his wife. I just hope that he can successfully heal from all of the trouble that he's had over the last few years.

Randy was such a great musician and great vocalist. Especially his underrated harmonies. Too humble a guy for Glen and especially Don's ego. Thank goodness he got such a great lead vocal on Take it to the limit. One of their best songs. I'm glad he went on to do so well with less famous bands like Poco, who were excellent, and working in background with other great players. In spite of his fame and fortune he always came across as down to earth.

How they dropped Randy and Bernie was tough, but that's how many of these rock groups are. FUNNY HOW LIFE IS, I KNOW THE JOHN DEERE DEALER, I WAS HIS ACCOUNTING AND MANAGEMENT REP. FROM JOHN DEERE, WE TRIED TO TALK RANDY INTO STAYING AND HE HAD A GOOD CAREER IN PARTS AND PARTS MANAGEMENT (HE WAS SMART) AND HE LEFT TO GO BACK TO CALIFORNIA, WE THOUGHT HE WOULD STARVE TO DEATH, BUT HE MADE IT BIG. MET HIM, KNEW ABOUT HIM, AND LISTENED TO THE EAGLES RECORDS BEFORE RELEASE. THE JOHN DEERE DEALER WAS ROGER FRANK, WHO HAS NOW PASSED AWAY, GOOD FRIEND OF RANDY MEISNER. THOSE WERE THE DAYS....

Scottsbluff guy here, I've met Randy a couple of times, nice guy and great musician. Hope he's doing well. BTW I used to live about 5 miles from Frank Implement and Roger Frank was closely related to my evil stepmother and her son, my stepbrother went to school with Randy.

Jon, Thanks for putting this on. Randy has so many people that love and respect him and his work. I have heard over the years that if the two self proclaimed "Lords of the band" would have listen to reason about taking a break every few month's from the constant Touring (I believe Bernie pleaded for this!) things would have been so much better for everyone, but who the F#%K am I? just a fan...

Glen and Don Henley eventually forced out everyone that got equal pay. Hired guns are put on salary. Pretty simple economics.
