You can’t understand that he just wanted Randy Couture to be up front and honest with him about whether or not he signed a deal with another network / promotion? How about because he canceled his last fight on his contract with the UFC. The last event or fight with the company that made him almost a house hold name. Didn’t just cancel if, nah he went and signed another contract before honoring his previously signed contract that was agreed upon by him and the UFC. And then lied about it via text. Randy Couture helped build the organisation. Culture was a coach on the first Ultimate Fighter series and for me it was the likes of Liddell, Couture, Ortiz, Mir, Arlovski, Penn, GSP, Hughes, Tanner, Silva that helped propel the sport into the main stream. Especially, Liddell and Couture. They were the first superstars

Dana, is it possible that Randy signed the deal AFTER you flipped on him? What's Randy's side?

Dana seems to have a problem with recalling the events with Randy Couture in the proper order....first it was this, then it was "no, no, no....what happened was.....". The UFC fighters need a union...they do. I'm not usually a fan of unions, because many of them act like petulant children who if they don't get their way will take their ball and go home. That said, Dana talks about people behaving like "men". Take care of your fighters....respect them and pay them a decent amount... Yeah, a man does that.....he (a man) takes care of the people who built the brand, the guys who got you where you are now.....a man does that too...fyi. Randy Couture testified in front of a Congressional committee about this stuff (it's on KZread). About 5% of the fighters can make a decent living, but that leaves the 95% who don't. T.he UFC signs endorsement deals with companies, and that screws over fighters who have separate deals for their own endorsements....because EVERYONE has to be on the UFC's sheet of music. Now that would be great IF....the majority of the fighters got a decent piece of that pie, but they don't. There is also no independent ranking system that the UFC has to adhere to. They can make any fight they want, but those (the fights) can be predicated on who is "popular" with the powers that be in the UFC, which may have nothing to do with who is deserving.

Id respect Dana White if hed actually ever fought even once in the octagon.

Notice how when the fighters get towards the end of the career. They start to notice they didn't make big money for big fights when they finally get there. UFC kicks them out once they get intelligent about their contracts.

When is USADA gonna test Dana?

Randy is right about the boxing mode where fighters are allowed their slave chains released for private marketing and merchandising.U only transact the actual fight labor. Yeah fighters deserve to negotiate independently instead of being owned by an organization that treats them like slaves owned bought and sold by them.Remove the chains.

Yeah, Dana, yet you won't man up and fight the guys you disrespect. I get it that you're not a fighter and just a shit talker but don't be surprised when these guys offer to kick your ass. They avoid honesty with Dana because he underhandedly tries to destroy everyone of them if they ever leave, retire, or take a vacation...

This is a hard video to watch for many reasons. Randy is a UFC legend and helped the sport transition to what is is today. And to see Dana struggle with anger and contempt while his face says hurt and regret is too much. It's hard to imagine that Randy hid behind his smart phone and used txt messages to lie. Not saying it didn't happen but if it did, one of my greatest heroes of all time just duped me. I always saw a man with impeccable integrity, character and sportsmanship. Damn it.

I was at a Randy Couture book meet-up & book signing and he said that the UFC were holding him to his fight contract with them, and would not permit him to fight. This was when he was retired. Obviously the man wants to fight again but not in the UFC. You say 'betreying trust', what about preventing a man from making a living? Randy was a great ambassador for the UFC, probably better than anyone else, yet they're keeping him to a contract. That man is pushing 50 yrs old!!! They need to be fair.

I’ve trained with Randy, over several weeks. Randy is 100% a gentleman and he is straight up. I don’t trust the man who would go to any length to promote a show and make a few extra bucks. Even though I can understand why Dona is upset, I am on Randy's side. Bosses like Dona like to be in complete control, annoyingly so, but Randy has the right to do what ever he wants, when he wants to. By all we know Randy could have been telling him the truth, that he had not signed yet, but maybe just later decided to sign up with Bellatore, It would have been better that he called Dana beforehand, but you risk getting into another bidding transaction, that you don't want, very stressful.

People constantly say UFC doesn't pay its fighters, but that seems false to me. None of these fighters were making the kind of pay days that go out in MMA today back before Dana convinced the Fertita brothers to buy the UFC. The undercard fighters in UFC tend to make quite a bit more than in boxing as well. You won't see the kind of Mayweather type paydays in MMA for a long long time, if ever. Boxing still has the larger following and infrastructure.

randy had problems with dana since 2007 when he wanted to leave the ufc to fight Fedor. Randy was not allowed to do that, they went to court, Randy lost. Then he made a new deal with the ufc and fought Lesnar. It's been a turbulent relationship between zuffa and Randy since 2007...
