Hearing your story about your mom made me cry. My dad just passed away 20 days after my 25th birthday this year. He overdosed on fentanyl. These past few months have been hard. I've had alot of mixed emotions since he died. To distract myself I've been diving into my hobbies. Knife collecting is one. A friend of mine helped me out of my rut and lately I've been on a journey leaving a legacy my dad always wanted. He is the one who got me into knives when I was young. He was always a man of simple things and simple tastes. I was on a hunt to find a knife for that legacy for him. Growing up in central Florida Randall is just a household name. I even remember him carrying one or two growing up. With the help of my friend Bryan he helped me track down a model 5-5. I could not be more happy. I've owned tons of knives. It maybe a little expensive at 500 for what it is. Like you said nothing like the nostalgia and history behind Randalls. It also helps me that it's close to home and reminds me of all the good memories I have. Thank you for doing the video👊

What a great comment, I truly appreciate you sharing your memories and history. My condolences on losing your dad, you're doing the right thing by keeping busy. If you get a chance, you have GOT to go to Orlando and visit the Randall Knives Museum. It's set up in Bo Randalls old house and talk about nostalgia, if you're a Randall guy it's an absolute experience. So much stuff there from letters from Ronald Reagan to Bo Randall to the original Scagel knife that Bo saw a guy using that got him into building knives. Keep up the collecting and thanks for the great comment!!

I get mine two months from now, pathfinder. I think I'll use mine too. I did picked up my mora garberg this week and a BPS Ukrainian made knife last month. Will use some of my folders too, like my cold steel's and kizers for wood working. Maybe a spoon. Thanks for sharing and showing me that people use their stag horn knives in the field. I won't use my loveless because that cost 8 times my Randall. 🤣🤣🤣 These knives are for my grandnieces college if they want to sell them, so some of them got to stay new. 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks again for your thoughts, ✌️🦁

There are some fine stag handle Bowies from England from the early 1900s, but they are very pricey in the states. Thanks for watching!!

Smart idea....with the tape taking the cuts.....rather than the leather....you can always throw the tape away...and apply a new layer of tape. Good job
