So can we acknowledge it’s not a 4th wall break because it’s just the flash being put on a tv show. It’s not him acknowledging he’s in a tv show. The show calls him Barry not grant and he doesn’t look at any cameras not seen on tv. The character also continues to treat it as a flash thing. It’s the equivalent of if Barry was hired to do a commercial for an episode.

Yeah at most it’s just a fun little nod that it’s what the show looks like behind the scenes. Plus I’m really hoping they didn’t build a new “fake” set for it and just started filming in the already made backstage set that they use

@@james_games. he’s challenging Barry on his feelings making him the center of attention so of course he would be the “star”. If he had mentioned the network or the fact it isn’t doing as well as it used to or that it’s in the shadows of green arrow then you can argue that’s breaking the 4th wall. Nothing he says establishes the real world as a reality. It just places Barry in a tv show setting. Even if he was to stand in front of a green screen and start running because we have to show Barry running really fast would be a better showing of 4th wall breaking. Establishing Barry can’t really run fast but is instead using tv real world stuff to look that way.

First you've got the return of Mitch Romero (Bloodwork's first victim way back in season 6), you've got "Flash Facts", which I think might be callback to Grant's first part on TV being a NASA science fact PSA, and lastly you've got what I assume is the actual crew... just... well done. And of course, the meta concept of Barry living because "he's the star" being directly mentioned.

Flash Facts are also what classic comic Barry (no dead mother tragic childhood backstory) from the 60s used to give at the end of every adventure, always about science.

They took the whole breaking the fourth wall to a new level.
