“I didn’t believe him” dam is Rampage playing poker back in 2000? He’s not even a +EV player. He gets most of his money from other sources and staking.

Playing poker for a living is taking a toll on him- as well as the fame- he needs to slow it down a notch and concentrate on either live/streams or tournaments. So hard to do both. That’s why the pros don’t really do both- the volatility and the swings will kill u and there’s a strong possibility of going broke! I hope he realizes this and takes a break👊🏼✌🏻🙏🏼

That last hand was the most insane punt and I called it to. The second Mariano put that raise in I was like “he’s gonna punt all in”. Not saying I’m a profit but bro is so predictable. He’s that guy that knows he’s beat but refuses to fold EVERY TIME! It’s really sad to watch where this play style has gotten him as well, but it’s so easy for him to come back. He’s a talented player but is still doing the “bully stack” method when it doesn’t work at the stakes with the people he regularly plays with now.

It would be one thing if Marinao won by actually outplaying people and making them fold better hands like Andy and Adelstein used to do all the time on these sort of games. Mariano is quite literally the luckiest player in the history of these live games like this with how often he gets there while behind or has such small equity. Not just this hand. Like there are clip vids of him just coolering and notching players at the table. His above EV is insane and make him look way better than his skill or outplaying would indicate.

I watched Rampage youtube channel, and he advertised possibility of staking him at Stake Kings / HCL $1M game. I already wrote $100 in the box, I was going to be part of it, but I then retracted. I better take the $100 to my local games and lose it there. Yes, I am a losing recreational player.

If you own an investment company and structured the stake as an investment generally you might be able to deduct it but I’m not a tax professional and you should definitely not take my advice. Also, if it was known going to stake a poker player then I believe those losses would only be useful to offset poker winnings but not income generally.

This is why poker can be so profitable for the best players, because everyone just thinks it’s luck but don’t understand that the underlying frequencies that you are able to import into your opponents thought processes is more important than luck. I will say that he has had a huge string of hands that basically everyone in his situation would get paid from, but there’s also a ton of spots where a less sound player would be seeing folds instead of calls.
