Yeah, that guy dances on the treadmill throughout every show while playing the keyboard one-handed. Interesting note: All the pyrotechnics? The band does it all themselves. Each one is a fully trained pyro specialist. A couple of governments tried to shut down their shows with rules requiring specialists be on stage to supervise all pyrotechnic effects, which would detract from the band's appearance. So the band took a year off to get themselves trained and certified. Also, if you ever see the video for 'Engel'? The giant fire-spitting metal wings the singer wears? The lead singer Till Lindeman made them himself. And made them flap.

Your information is inaccurate it’s not the entire band that’s certified. Till Lindeman is the only one certified as the pyrotechnic. and he didn’t take a year off . He was a Pyro Specialist years before he started the band.

Amazing is a slight understatement. My wife and I saw Rammstein in Glen Ellyn , Illinois in the late 90's before they became huge. Indoor arena with metal walls and roof. Maybe 500 people. Flamethrowers, fireworks, body suit on fire - the heat was felt throughout the arena. No words to describe how awesome that show was.

They have also done similar for indoor venues. When i saw them ages ago was an indoor place and he still shot a flaming arrow at the thing over the center of the crowd which them exploded into firework type sparklers.

When you think of it, everyone else is working out, you got Richard, till, paul and olli all able to move about on stage, Christoph on the drums working out like a animal, then flake has to just stand there, so may aswell burn some calories off like the other boys, also a real nice way to hold a rhythm, one beat for each foot step, ever noticed the faster the bpm in a song the faster you walk lol

Ummm???? I saw the LIFAD tour, and the Made in Germany tour, both in Tacoma, WA. The only thing that they didn’t do in WA was the enactment of Buch Dich as they were arrested and fined for “lewd and lascivious acts” on stage in 2001 in Texas. So in the US they “censor” Buch Dich by altering the theatrics. Other than that, it was exactly like the live videos when I saw them. Here in Canada (Vancouver, BC) they didn’t alter Buch Dich’s theatrics. 🤪

I was 32 when Rammstein got known, so guess i'm kind of a somewhat younger elder now , and people my age are pretty much used to weird things happening on stage lol. We grew up with epic music and bands. Loved Rammstein from the beginning . I feel lucky to have witnessed the best music decennia.

These guys are legends. They were a co-headliner at Big Day Out Australia back in the day and Limp Bizkit was the headline act. Bizkit pulled out due to a death at the Sydney show so Rammstein played their set allocation too. We got a full concert set that night in Melbourne and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Absolutely epic live.

Dude, their concerts are beyond epic! Saw one in 2013 and it blew me away!!!! The most ironic aspect of this song is that it's about marriage... Yes, marriage. Basically some words came from German marriage vows. "Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet (Will you, until death do you part) Treu ihr sein für alle Tage?" (Be true to her for all of your days?") Got the privilege to see them a few months ago in Philly. It takes an entire week and a massive crew of builders to put together their stage. It takes 3 cargo planes to bring all of their stage with them. Best show I’ve ever seen

worked as an electrician at this show. Flake uses the treadmill as averbrato and generator for a mini TESLA coil. you see the bolts coming from the keyboard. takes hours to get it set right so it doesn't run thru his body. the TESLA coil is low amperage.

This is one of my favorite songs, when this song came out back in the day I was like “yes thank you!” One more thing I wanna say is the way they captivate an audience is nothing short of spectacular. Imagine you’re that band on stage and this huge venue full of people and they’re all singing in unison and on key, I might add!

Some of us are probably old enough to remember Kurt Russell in Escape from New York.

When they came to the USA with the whole show , they freaked out almost half of conservative America. I'm 74 yr. old woman with 3 youn' ins their early 40's, now. Back when RAMMSTINE came out, LOVE it and I bought their cd...had it on a road trip. Kids went nuts and were shaking their heads with concern for their mother... 6-hour ride seemed like 2 (;-)

One they're singing in German because they are a German band. I read somewhere that the lead singer was a pyrotechnic expert

I love that it only takes Jamel one verse and chorus before he's mouthing Du Hast alongside the crowd

"I don't know if you are old enough to remember, That Kurt Russell movie, Escape from LA" Yup, some of us are old enough to remember the Original, Escape from New York. 😆

I saw Escape from New York in the theater 👍😁.

They're the nicest guys you would ever meet. Very kind guys. What you see on stage is an act and they're great at it.

This band was in a scene of the movie xXx. That footage was used for a music video. First video I ever saw of them, the guy sang the entire song wearing a jacket that was on fire. They have a lot of wild, funny, and/or crazy videos. I've been told the main lyric can have double meanings, "You hate me," or "You have me."

"Du, Du hast, Du hast mich" can either mean "You, you have, you have me" or "You, you hate, you hate me". Later it becomes clear he's singing "Du hast mich gefragt" which translates to "You have asked me" (word order is different in German).

Nothing is normal about Rammstein. I got to work two shows for them and watched from backstage. They are incredible live!

Rammstein is legitimately the most amazing show you will ever see.

But no chances to get tickets! Waited actually at the moment they went online with my 400k internet on cable: right at the second the selling started (German Tour) the internet of the vendor got broke! Reloading thousand times and after 5 minutes the site loads. But all tickets, in every german city are sold! I wonder, how the others made it. According to measureing my connection is faster than 97% of the rest of Germany. Cable, no WLAN. Luck? I don't get it :(

It was such a bizarre thing when a band that only sings in German broke in America. You need to do “Amerika” by them (its wunderbar)

I was probably about 13 or 14 when I first heard Du Hast on the radio late at night, thus marking my introduction. In my ignorance, I was convinced this band's gimmick was singing is some "bizarre made up language". But I soon learned it was in fact German and shortly after purchased my first CD, Sehnsucht. I cherished that album and listened to every song. Agree that it's crazy that they actually became popular in the US, but I guess there was a market for their sound, despite the language barrier. It was at a time when hard-hitting heavy riffs were "the" sound.

I thought Kiss liked fire but Rammstein takes it to another level. I saw them in Atlanta in 2012. It was the best concert I've ever seen. 🤘

This has to be the funniest review I've seen😂 your reactions were absolutely priceless!!!

What I love is that this is actually a love song. It's lamenting a bad relationship .

Actually it has a double meaning. "Hast" is German for "have" while "hasst" is German for "hate." They are pretty much homonyms. They sound the almost the same while having different meanings. So he could be saying "you have me" and he could be saying "you hate me." It's sort of a play on wedding vows.

The main singer has a Pryotech license & does all the Pryotech for their shows.

To be fair, KISS did it more or less first FORTY or so years ago. Rammstein just ramped it up to 1011...

Du hast in English means ‘I want’ though

I was 14 in 1997, that was when I found out about Rammstein and heard Du Hast for the first time. I find it hard to believe that people in 2021 have still never heard of Rammstein. I have watched a lot of these reaction videos of this video and I find this guy's reaction the best. He makes me laugh hard. 💜

Till lindeman (singer) is a licensed pyrotechnition and it takes 60 hours of preparation for their stage show..

Went to see these in 2012, immense, you do get warm at a Rammstein gig!! Absolutely brilliant entertainment and what a sound!!!!

I love your reaction because it proves you don't have to know the words or speak the language to enjoy it.

Also, since the keyboardist doesn't usually get as much on-stage exercise as the rest, that's just practical...

I've been listening to Rammstein since I was in school at 16. I'm nearly 30 now. Funny to see you react like this 😂👍 I can also imagine you at a Rammstein concert just mind blown getting pushed around with fireworks going over your head just shouting "oohhhhhh shit!"

I was wondering if Rammstein was covered. I searched and saw a couple of songs (to my surprise). We saw them at a small club in 2001. We quickly made sure we were close to the fire exit, as the pyrotechnics were still insane even in a small indoor club (we could feel the heat). They have such raw power. It was a great show. We were blown away! Definitely one of the best live shows.

This band was amazing live and the fans are from all walks of life and ages. All having a good time and feeding off the energy.

Rammstein is one of those groups where ANYTHING is possible and/or tried, so when you first react to "is this man on a treadmill?!" the answer is... quite possibly, lol.
