I felt like the track forces me to only listen to the vocals, almost forcing the beat to become background music, if not out of focus. Not sure if it was intentional though

Damstraight68 that's kinda the point of mixing. Vocals foreground, beats SLIGHTLY in the background. However at the end of the day you can do it however you want lol
