Hey! I think what went wrong with your dough is that salt impedes yeast fermentation. The flavor packets have a lot of sodium. Since the volume of your dough with small to begin with, it probably had too much salt for the yeast to proof properly

I think fuckywucky bread is universal when trying new recipes, lmao. It always takes me a few tries, at least!

You did amazing for trying a new recipe! With baking youre going to experience alot of variations because dough is finicky to its enviroment so dense bread is going to occur when the bread is over-mixed because all of the airy bubbles popped! You wanna go until its just incorporated and two mixes more, the kneading is where you ensure its perfectly mixed without going too hard and ensuring it does not deflate! Think of a balloon trying to pop

Was the liquid too hot maybe? A reason for the dough to come out so dense could be that the yeast got killed bc of smth that is too hot (35+ degrees)
