I've been subbed for a few years now and tbh, not once did I ever think about your weight. I like you and your channel and I wish you the best with your 'dietary adjustment' (my own new term), as I've had to do the same myself recently. 😎

The main thing is that you are happy. Happy to be as you are or happy to want to become what you want to be. I have always had weight problems. And that why it would never have come to me the idea of criticizing you on your weight. 😄 50 days ago, I went to see my pulmonologist for routine control. He asked me to weigh myself, which I hadn't done for 4 years. Result: 200 kg (440 pounds). A shock, even for me who likes to have shapes and people with shapes 😉. I also decided to take control. Result: 44 pounds lost in 44 days. My goal is to reach 280 pounds. It’s enough for me. Less, I won't be me anymore. I know it. I have of course weighed less than that in my life and I did not feel well as well. I wish you good luck in your journey. 🙂

Hey nick, glad to hear your doing well. Very sad about the passing of your dog, as an owner myself I understand your grief. Your reviews are fantastic, and I after finding a new Morrissey song I will instantly run to your channel and see if you've done excellent review. My Fridays would not be complete without your intelligent reactions/reviews. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Keep enjoying Moz!

Thanks for sharing your personal story, I’m sure it resonates with so many of us here. Weight, self image, motivation, mental health are all issues we struggle with in some form and I just want you to know you’re not alone and I definitely understand. Also, losing a pet is one of the most devastating feelings ever but I’m glad to hear you’re doing better. Wishing you well on your health journey and much continued success on the channel! You'll thank yourself in later years if you take care of yourself now. You're still young enough where you can probably get away with carrying extra weight, but when you get older, that shit snowballs quickly with regards to related health problems. Obviously, it's not something you should be obsessing over, but trying to be reasonably healthy is a good habit to get into. So, good luck with what you're doing, Nick!

Hey Nick, love the channel and your taste in music. Your videos are always an instant click for me, especially Morrissey Fridays. I'm really proud of you for the progress you've made so far. There was a time in my life when my depression overtook me and I just let things go. Before I knew it I found myself morbidly obese. After a few years of that I decided that things had to change, so I changed my diet and I ended up losing 120 pounds over the course of year and a few months. I know that you can do similar. It's just a matter of keeping consistent and not worrying about short term fluxuations. As you've already lost 30 pounds, you've proven that you know exactly what to do. Just keep with it and you'll be there before you know it!

Good luck with your continued weight loss nick 30lbs in 2 months is fantastic progress 🌞 it may slow down a bit as its easier to lose at 300 than at 250 etc isn't it but dont feel put off and hopefully you will get to a size you are happy with before long. I have gone from 180 to 210 myself since 2020 and would really like to lose the weight especially as someone who gets insecure about how they look which like you say nobody should but most of us do right? I hear that taking apple cider vinegar in a little shot glass is good lol to regulate blood sugar which helps control appetite. Just so easy to kind of mindlessly eat things like cereal and bread baked type food isnt it lol. Anyway glad you feel good to talk about this on here like you say most of KZread seems pretty friendly doesn't it i guess twitter is the mean place i sometimes despair reading the things people type there man. But yes good luck from 🐦🕊️ these two healthy life birds

I reconised that you lost weight in recent time. 30 pounds is impressive. Congrats! The dog my family had since I was around 11 years old died last year at the age of 13. Obviously that was something that was going to happen in the next couple of months or years, but that hit me really hard. Even a few months later I sometimes just started to cry when I was alone and thought about it. I still can't see myself getting another dog. Maybe in a few years

I got my dogs when I was 12. I'm lucky to still have one of them, who's now 14. I know she probably doesn't have many years left, but it's gonna suck when she goes. They're family. I don't think I'll be getting another one either. I'm not gonna be in any hurry to. Death just sucks. Oof.

For me, it's interesting to know where these music reactions come from. So, some background info about your life is helpful - and puts your personal interpretations of songs in a perspective. You will have to cope with loss throughout your life - weight loss may be the least radical one.

I got fat during Covid too. I think everyone did. Lol. For me, exercise has to have some entertainment value, that's why I like cycling. (You could try delivering for Door Dash instead of just eating it and make money at the same time!) Boxing is another good one, because it actually offers a skill, instead of just mindless running or going to the gym. Try Noom too. I actually know people who have had some success using it. You'll have to try to train yourself to stop craving crappy foods. It sounds ridiculous, but one way to do that it just train your palette - learn about food like a chef would. I lived in Italy for a while. They eat A LOT, but its'a all incredible, high quality food. After you learn what real food is, you don't want to go back to junk. It's like learning what good music is - once you appreciate the Smiths, do you want to listen to, like, the Imagine Dragons? You'll do it, dude. Love your channel.

You have to choose the sacrifices you want to make, I’m trying to get back down to 140 pounds. (that’s 10 stone for my fellow limeys) But I’m always hungry, and I miss eating pizzas and ice cream. How I miss them. Keep it up! Make the right sacrifices. My one tip is to drink lots of tea. (coffee, energy drinks and too much caffeine make people too hungry)

Unless one has ADHD - stimulants help me control my eating because I dont mindlessly snack for the dopamine any more, plus they help me pause and be more mindful of what I was shovelling in. 40lbs down in 17 months, it could probably have been more but I chose not to give anything up - just to be more proportionate with it. Add in finding the right physical exercise, and I haven't looked back. Nick, you are taking the right steps and have the right attitude and have achieved a hell of a lot already - its also great that youre abke to do this now, and not when you're 50 (and feeling 65 and get diagnosed with hypertension). The key thing is doing it *because you want to* and not because you think you ought to, or as punishing yourself. You've got this. And a happy extra is that you'll still have _killer_ leg muscles. Remember that it's all about being fitter and healthier, the weight loss comes along for the ride as a happy bonus. If you ever think "dammit I've only lost X lbs this month, this isn't good enough", pick up something of equivalent weight and realise just how heavy that feels in your hand, that you were toting this a month earlier and now you're not. Every 5-10lbs gone reduces the burden on your cardiovasular system and you can *feel* it, as things that exhausted you get less and less onerous. Lower BP, lower heart rate, less snoring...it's all good even when the weight loss inevitably plateaus.. Good luck on your journey.
