Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption taskforce led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him - and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

It's so easy for Indonesians to get to that state. Running amok is our go-to state when things got desperate. Fun fact: the word "Amok" comes from Malay and Indonesia, it's used to describe a state of mindless and uncontrollable rage, something that used to be so normal amongst the people of Malay race (like Indonesians, Malaysians, Bruneians, even Filipino), in that state, everything goes blank and the people in that state would grow freakishly strong and uncontrolled, similar to 'berserk'.

I heard the only reason the Raid 3 isn't going to happen is because the Director legit thinks he can't do any better than he did here. I absolutely love the little detail thrown in where Baseball Bat Man's nuanced fighting style is completely abandoned when his sister is killed, instead going into a frenzy with fast and deadly, but predictable, moves. Usually in Martial Arts films, when someone goes into a blind rage, they increase their skill-level, whereas here, he lets his emotions kick-in too much, which I could imagine being the more likely outcome. On that note, I recall the theater giving an uneasy chuckle when Rama lets go of the bat and it's still on the guy's face. What a seriously dark joke Gareth Evans put in there.

They achieved the feel of an actual 2 on 1 fight. A lot of times when they fight someone you see the other person kinda standing around or just moving and not attacking. But this they are both moving as long as they physically can. Makes it more realistic
@molh394
Жыл бұрын
And Rama himself knowing this moves with hyper-efficiency, keeping himself on top by making quick disabling moves as much as he can do he can move on to the next guy. Baseball bat man in particular keeps getting knocked down, whereas Hammer Girl who relies more on dexterity and skill proves trickier each time. Really no action like Raid ultimately, honestly not even John Wick's action comes close (and I am a huge JW fan)
@PandaPelley
10 ай бұрын
the only reason is because they're super in sync with each other, most low-level thugs would probably just end up hurting their friends. The "standing around" is looking for an opening that you can not only hurt your opponent in, but also make sure you're not getting in the way of your comrades, ESPECIALLY your higher-ranked comrades you even see how dangerous it is for a group to go "all out" against a dangerous singular opponent due to Hammer Girl almost smashing Baseball Bat Man's face with Rama merely inverting his position.

Take down Hammer Girl first, the strategy wiki would say. As you can tell, Baseball bat man is stronger and tankier but relies more on power and force and has much more predictable telegraphed moves which you can parry and counter to disable him for a few seconds. Whereas Hammer Girl is weaker but much trickier, more dexterous, and with a large variety of moves and grip changes. Warning: once you take down HG, BBM goes into Berserk mode and becomes much stronger and faster, make sure you are able to avoid his moves and take him down quick after that.

It also landed literally just a few inches above the side of his knee. If that would've been a little lower Rama has a broken leg

Same guy who did Gangs Of London. The way he follows the battles is unreal. You feel you're in it

Who needs a big budget to make a Hollywood movie when you can watch pure martial art skill at a fraction of a price? That fight sequence is pure, brutal and top notch is a brilliant 1 to watch! Julie Estelle excelled as Hammer Girl and she only trained for 6 months, watching her, it was more like 6 years the way she fought Rama and those thugs on the subway, poetry in motion!
What a great movie it was.I enjoyed every moment of it. To bad there's no Raid 3. I would've loved seeing a 3rd one but I'm happy with the two that we got sometimes another sequel wouldn't be good as the 1st two.

Raid 1 & 2 make the action scenes a work of art. Incredible stuff.
I love how Rama uses their own weapons to kill them.
he's at another level. love his defense.
Hammer girl is a really random yet simple villain you can come up with
Boy- give me the ball!!! Girl- give me the nail😂😂😂😂
These movies are unique seriously. They create such an interesting universe, kinda like John Wick does. Rama is such a badass

I've never felt a genuine adrenaline rush from any action movie till i watched this. ❤️💯
Iko owais is mind blowing and the choreography is on another level.
I saw someone in the comments say Rama should be in a mortal kombat game. I'm just imagining Rama sees someone like Baraka and is like "Damn another junkie huh. . . " or Johnny Cage referencing the actual actor that plays Rama and says something dumb like "You know I worked with a guy who looks just like you on the show Fu killers" (reference to woo assassin) and then Rama says "That's the guy who has all the faces right?" and then Johnny says "Yo so you've seen my work?" and then they fight lol
"Can she fix it?" "No she cant!"
who lived by the bat and hammer, dies by the bat and hammer
1:45 he really thought his brute force and anger would beat rama 😂😂
This must be one of the most brutal fighting scenes. How the actors could execute the choreography so smoothly is amazing. I wonder if they did it in a bit slow speed motion then speed it up a bit in post production.

All the punches and kicks to the body of the actors were real. Iko Uwais and the other fighters had to learn how to control their speed and strength so that it would look real on the camera." from raid 2 trivia imdb
Worlds best action movie I ever saw,and no other action movie can beat this movie❤
1:44 whoa those dodges.
Watching this in the theatre was crazy, the scene after this is even crazier, I damn near lost my mind that day.
RAID is the kind of movie where the killers assault you at the same time ! So rare that it needed to be shared ! 👊🏾🤩🤩👌🏾
I love how these two are built up as these unstoppable master assassins, and then they're just totally outclassed by Rama, and don't realise how out their depth they are until it's too late. The fact they approached this fight "just like the others" shows how they underestimated him, then he shuts down all their usual tactics and they don't know how to deal with it, then the panic sets in when he comes in for the kill.
This fight scene is one of the deadliest martial arts fight scene. 😊😊😊😊😊

01:15 Her reiatsu increased.
one of the best films out there including the first one the storyline was so good most films nowadays epspecially hollywood dont make these films as good as this one Rama was such a great main character to play
Pure art🤧
ഇതൊക്കെയാണ് Fight .Pure art
Incredible fight scene that never gets old !
This was one of the most brutal scenes ever beautifully choreographed beautifully brutal....NUFF SAID!
Love how weighty this fight feels. Often in action movies, you can always subcosciously feel that the actors/stuntpeople are using light props by the way they move with them, but I think here they really paid attention how a fight with relatively heavy weapons would look like. Aside from the amazing choreography and camera work, you can feel the weight of those weapons and every swing actually feels potentially lethal. Hammer girl especially - love the slower wide swings and how she puts her full body into them. You already know a fighter like Rama can easily dodge that 1v1, but combined with her brother's faster style, in a tight claustrophobic environment, she becomes so much more intimidating. Really makes you feel like one good hit would be all it takes to cave his skull in.
Arguably one of the greatest action films of all time 💯
🤣 I mean come on dude.. @1:39 what did you expect? He's just gonna let her go she so she can hammer him to death again? LOL fatality!
Praise the director for that beautiful 360 shot… brilliant. Just Brilliant !!
In the raid 2 all enemies are killed by Rama with their own weapons 👏👏👏
Best camera work ..every hit was clear Every move was so defined ....hats off to the camera work done ...it's a piece of art ...
