Any of those 80's beasts would clean up the first game. Game 2 would be a no show. Well maybe one or 2 may have the balls to show up.

Houstonian here. I have great memories of the twin towers in the mid 80s. I often think of what could have been if you had stayed healthy. The Rockets have 2 championships but the 86 season was by far my favorite. The shot against the Lakers was awesome. The Celtics series was my favorite Finals to watch. Great memories. Just wish Ralph had more healthy years in Houston.

Ralph's injuries and the suspensions of John Lucas, Lewis Lloyd and Mitchell Wiggins derailed the rockets potential dynasty. That 86 team was so deep that Craig ehlo was the 12th man.

I watched a lot of Ralph's games in college on television great college player his NBA career was the same his first few years but then the injuries came which cut it short i will never forget the Georgetown vs Virginia game in 1982 Sampson vs Ewing those were the days.

I'll never forget mr Cooper, a tremendous competitor, reaction after Ralph's winning shot against the Lakers. Coop just colapsed on the floor in disbelief.

What baffles me about The Sampson Shot is the Lakers didn't challenge the inbound pass that led to it 🤔

Ralph, with good health, could dominate in today's "hands-off" defense that is played in the NBA.

As a Rockets fan since I was 10 years old that 86 team caught my attention and kept it until Hakeem left for Toronto. Such a shame Ralph hurt his knee because we never got to really see how good the Twin Towers could have been .

Ralph is a big guy (7'4") who got great handles.

I was there at the Forum in 1986 when Ralph threw in that ugly ass shot to knock the Lakers out of the western conference finals.

People think that Garnett was an athletic freak who can guard small forwards, this was a taller Garnett and just as quick.

I was a big fan of Ralph when he came out of Virginia. Thought he had a nice game and had hoped for a longer pro career.

it was inevitable. That kind of length and his quickness is an insane amount of stress on the joints. He wasn't going to last long no matter what. Either way, just a freak of nature. But the Rockets would've needed much more than just the twin towers. Their other key players had drug issues.

He should of developed a post game. He played exactly like a mix of giannis-prime Blake Griffin but at 7'4 so it was a dangerous style for his size and length had he played like bob McAdoo with a tree Rollins/mark Eaton defensive style he'd definitely been durable but same time Hakeem needed that space so Ralph kinda had to adapt and play more fast and up tempo he was like Russ Westbrook with his intensity and power when he finishes
