Ralph offers a heartfelt plea to anyone who has responsibility for preaching and teaching, inviting them to preach and teach in a way that is more faithful to Christ and brings more people to him.

A Prayer for Priests by St. Terese of Lisieux O Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests; for your unfaithful and tepid priests; for your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields; for your tempted priests; for your lonely and desolate priests; for your young priests; for your dying priests; for the souls of your priests in purgatory. But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me: the priest who baptized me; the priest who absolved me from my sins; the priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; the priests who taught and instructed me; all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way. Jesus, keep them all close to your heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.

Thank you Mr. Martin for your thoughtful and true video. I always preach from the readings and the Magisterium. Jesus is the center of my attention and how the readings relate to Him and His love for us and the great gift of salvation He offers those who respond and remain faithful. Sadly, I am usually responded to with apathy or hate, even from my priest. Yet, I will always continue to preach the truth in season and out of season, even if it ultimately means martyrdom. Thank you for your faithfulness! -Deacon Shaun

You’re asking people to preach against the way they’ve been taught to preach. This style is often very pastoral and also very passive. No one is called conversion. Thank you Dr. Ralph for once again speaking the truth in boldness and clarity. There aren’t many priests in archdiocese of Philadelphia who would ever preach like this. Knowing this saddens me. I see in parishioners as a result a ritualistic approach to the faith that changes very little. Your words speak directly to my heart and make me proud to be among those who believe.

About praying for our priests...I would like to share my experience. I was asked to join a group who spent 1 day a week making a holy hour for our priest. I started doing this, and my goodness, does God repay in dividends for our faithfulness. I have gained more grace and blessing from this than any other practice I have done. It is as though I am receiving my own answers through praying for them. Grace in abundance. I encourage you to try it!

There are also several groups that formally pray for priests- Seven Sisters is one of them. They have at least one woman praying a Holy Hour for the priest each and every day. Priests, if you don’t have a group of ladies praying for you daily, ask!

My priest said people come to mass to hear a happy message. So he won’t talk about sin. He said they talk about repentance in a nice way. They don’t! They don’t talk about fighting the anti-Christian laws and anti pro-lifers. They just let the liberals persecute us, take away our parental rights, etc. it’s so pathetic

Some of the most wonderful things you say come with little or no forethought on your behalf. Here’s one of my favorite throw away lines of yours: “The wisdom of the saints never gets old”. Another one that I’ve said to myself over and over again comes from your presentation of the Crisis of Truth. I had a cassette tape where you said unthinkingly, “I was addicted to searching for truth but hostile to finding it.” Aren’t we all, Dr. Ralph?

Wise as serpents (preaching about Hell) but harmless as doves. We have to remain meek and gentle or we will be discouraged and not be able to persevere. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the land. This means things will open up to those brave enough to trust in this promise, and will be protected. Pray for this gift of meekness as frustration leaves cracks in us to be exploited. Thanks Ralph and God bless.

Thank you, Dr. Martin! I have learned so much from you over many years. Praised be to the Most Holy Trinity! I belong to a little community of victim souls called Love Crucified. Our co founder, a wife and mother of 8 has received many messages from heaven concerning the priesthood and the Cross. Here is one from Our Blessed Mother. You can read more in "The Simple Path to Union With God" which has the imprimatur.. "I, the Mother of all in heaven and on earth, the Mother of all priests, desire for their holiness. As I embraced St. John at the foot of the Cross, enveloped in the precious blood of my most adorable Son, I also want to embrace each priest. Through my Son, they are each my sons. I love them with my motherly pure heart. I want to lead them to be holy as Jesus is holy. I want to lead them into the abode of His pierced Heart. I will bring each of them to the Cross as I accompanied my Son. I will form them to be perfect victims as I formed my Son. I will place in their hearts the love of the Cross as the Father placed this love in the Heart of my Son and in mine. My daughter, I want you to help each priest come to the Cross. Share with them your experience of the Cross. My little one, share with them your life. It is living testimonies of my Son's graces that touches and awakens hearts. Tell them to allow me to reveal to them the love of Jesus Crucified. It is only this love that has the power to transform. It is when each of my consecrated priests unite themselves, through my heart, to Love Crucified that the hearts of the faithful will be opened. (8/5/09)

Thank you. Your message is confirming sentiments received in prayer and promptings to share with my pastor. In God’s providence I now have this video to suggest where you eloquently and lovingly communicate these important points and the necessary emphasis we must place on the Word of God, and the import of the homily to accurately convey the truth and power of God’s Word so that it may more readily accomplish its purpose in those who hear it. To dumb down, distance/avoid, or distract from the core truths and significance in order to be welcoming, funny, nice, lighthearted, is a disservice to the community and priestly and prophetic office, particularly in this time. He has given His Church Everything we need to follow Him, to drop our nets and prepare the way, participate in the divine plan leading into eternal life. We must Believe it, Receive it, expect opposition, not shy away from the difficult parts- seek wisdom! Receive again, and again, by His Design, Word and Sacrament, the Goodness of God, and share it, live it, procreate it 🔥🌎🕊

Too many people today have become their own little Gods...almost as if they seem to think they'll be able to let themselves into Heaven or worse: that there is no God and no life after death. But most people seem to intuitively know life is very serious business and that God does exists...perhaps a remnant of infused knowledge of God from Adam and Eve. If you're Catholic, make Confession a regular part of your spiritual practice...at least once a month. If you approach Confession honestly (and regularly) you'll start to see changes in yourself through the power of the Holy Spirit. You will then start going to Mass more often and more fully appreciate the precious gift of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Pray the Rosary daily as well. Our Lady is the greatest intercessor with her Son Jesus who in turns is our greatest intercessor with God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Someone let me know if I'm wrong but when we say we believe in in Jesus, as Christ said to do, he said to his apostles teaching them to observe all that I have commanded thee Matt 28:20, so to believe in jesus we must obey all that he commanded us, so then yes, he who is baptised and BELIEVES SHALL BE SAVE, BUT HE WHO DOES NOT BELIEVE SHALL BE CONDEMNED MARK 16:16

Thinking of your often quoted words of Jesus from the scriptures: "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough. After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door, then will you stand outside knocking and saying, 'Lord, open the door for us.' He will say to you in reply, 'I do not know where you are from.' And you will say, 'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.' Then he will say to you, 'I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers!' And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God and you yourselves cast out. And people will come from the east and the west and from the north and the south and will recline at table in the Kingdom of God. For behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last." It is so important to speak the words of truth in love and at the same time not to forget to speak the truth.

Most people have a short attention span. Say it. say it clear and then be quiet, before you lose their attention. JESUS said shocking things to get people to thinkafter they left Him. When a Priest goes on too long, no one hears.
