It's the art of going flat out through a one way road with no shoulders and massive drops covered with anything but asphalt in the middle of the boonies is some eastern European country in a Fiesta with 500 horsepower and a roll cage. You can't be sane to do that.

I wonder if anyone had told may about Solberg and his history of crashing over his career, he's crashed so many times one nickname he ended up with was Henning Roll-berg.

I love how bobsledding and rally give equally crazy vibes, like thats the perfect combo of "amount of crazy you need to be to do this sport"

I think there needs to be some appreciation for that fantastic Bobsleigh team! And Hammond being able to get the ropes so quickly and not slowing them down too much.

for real though that was legit impressive! Hammond being able to mount at the same time as the Olympic team and not slow them down deserves mad props!
That's still impressive. The car was 2 seconds slower than the bobsled.

I think if someone with a stopwatch was at the car finish line instead of James, the race might have ended differently.

this is 15 years ago, James looks like he's aged 25 years tho and 4:41 always fires me up, the combination of the rally car going flat out and the tense music just gets me

+Aleron Adams First, it's not real. Second, they can't show him crossing the line and pushing the button at the same time, so they have to show the button second; even if it was real, they'd have to do that. It's like showing the sled and the car crossing the line...just because they show the sled crossing first doesn't mean that the sled won...just that they can't show them both crossing together easily.

It amazes me how much filming was done for the race itself. The whole race was done within a minute, and yet the footage runs for exactly 2 minutes.
