Define hard. If you mean physical endurance, F1 is harder. if you think reflexes and manouvering skills I´d say its about the same.

TimmiOz I mean the skill and knowledge you need to have about your car and the skills you need for driving. In F1 the ground is mostly the same, sure you have rain and tarmac, but in rally you have those, gravel, ice, snow and basically everything you can think about. In rallying you need to drift and controle your car at very high speeds while driving, jumpind and sliding on gravel and ice. You can never predict how the conditions are, while you drive along trees, 1 meter of the left and right side of your car. I mean look at the video and then look at an F1 driver. F1 (and every tarmac racing) is pure perfection, track knowledge and knowing your car. Rally is that plus so much more. That's my definition of "hard". No offense at F1 driving, I hope you got me there. Compared to rally it just looks easy to me (keep in mind I never experienced either of those racing sports first hand sadly)

+Lukas König Well, when it comes to F1, there are other factors, then those in rally, that makes the sport difficult. Yes, the surface is the same, but the speed is ecxess of 300 kph, and cornering is done centimeters, sometimes milimeters from the wall (Wall of Champions in Canada). In rally, you don´t drive against other drivers, whereas in F1 you have 20 others cars on the track, all driving inches from each other (I assumes you have seen a race). Rally driving is alot more countersteering, and throttle regulation, but mostly, they drive for 20 mins at a time, whereas in F1 it is sometimes 2 hours. That´s my definition as hard. And no offense taken, I just respectfully disagree.

it's the co-driver, they have a textbook with the pacenotes that usually looks like these: MC1 100 KL2 100 KR2 200 SQL 100 KR4 50J!→R2+ (D/C!) 100 +SQR 400 F→CR→KL4 100 MC2BC and translate to From main control 1 (start), 100 metres straight to a kink left, severity 2 100 metres, kink right severity 2 200 m, square left (90°) 100 m, kink right severity 4 50 m, jump (caution!) into immediate right hand bend severity 2 tightens (caution, do not cut the corner, due to hazard on the inside) 100 m, oversquare right 400 m, flat (maximum speed) into crest into kink left severity 4 100 m to main control 2 (finish). Brackets are not read. The co driver is also looking at a live map, because since it is a snow track, there aren't any markings for the co-driver to orientate from

Must be at-least 40-speed! (& over-correcting a bit) (tires must be made of panther paws & the engine purrs too!)

Being the navigator would be scary. Seeing the trees fly by and having no control, only trust in the driver.

the driver also has that same level of trust with the co driver. if he reads a wrong pace note, they could both be sent tumbling into the forest and be lucky to escape with only a broken bone
