The Dark Ages are back! And better than ever! I can hardly wait till the universe again revolves around the Earth like in the good-old days! And it will be flat too! And it will be supported on the backs of turtles and elephants once again! Enough of this science stuff! it's unnatural!

When I was a kid in 6th grade the librarian had a signed permission slip on file from my mother with permission for me to go over to the adult side of the library and pick out books. I remember going in with my mother to get the permission, and the librarian asked Mom if she was sure she wanted to allow me to read the adult content on that side of the library. Mom replied, "He's already read a lot of Shakespeare, not to mention Peyton Place, Exodus, and Catcher in the Rye from my bookshelf at home. Besides, he mostly just wants to read Science Fiction, and you keep it all on the adult side. I got him Tom Swift and his Ultrasonic Cycloplane, and he didn't even finish it because he said it was boring." That was over 60 years ago, and I still remember that day. My mom was great.

@@havable Look, I'm not claiming that children shouldn't have rights. But, They should be restricted to a certain extent. According to the argument you're making, Predators would be allowed to talk to children. And have no restrictions on that, Because it's their right to do so. I disagree. Also, They're not just "banning" books just willy nilly. No, The law they implemented makes it perfectly clear on which books they're removing access from *children* , Not the general public. So it's not really banning books if people still have access to them.

So what is/was the problem with their budgets & money & possible fines? Someone thinks/feels/recommends that a book really is not suitable for minors, move it to the adult section & I would be thinking that would be just about all there was to it. These replies below about ""BOOK BANNING"" & ""TELLING OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN READ"" & what is or is not something that people in general might declare to be ""OBSCENE"", they are not removing the books, they are simply MOVING them away from the wee little lads & lasses but they are still under the very same roof, so what is your PROBLEMS, FOLKS???

Your bible has lots of stories of rape and incest and Solomons 800 wives so why isn't it being banned to the adult section? Why are churches allowed to brainwash young minds with an ideology of genocide (your god murdered the entire planet in a great big flood just to get cowards like you to Fear him because your god thinks that Fear is the same thing as Love). Maybe we should ban your bible under the same exact grounds. Its an aberration and full of evil. It perverts people to *do* evil things by promising them everlasting life if only they will murder all of the god character's enemies so the preachers won't have to get their hands bloody.

At best they'll send you a form letter and a donation ask. At least that's how the republican politicians in Idaho behave. One time Jim Risch refused entrance to a veterans group I was part of to his office despite an appointment having been set. He literally locked his office door so we could not enter. While we waited in the lobby for him to change his mind, a lobbyist with a bag fulla money was allowed entry. That's how the republican party rolls. Even their Supreme Court judges take bribes and refuse to meet with anyone who doesn't give them money.

They want us to live in a religious dictatorship where parents aren't allowed to raise their children but instead busy-bodies from some church appoint themselves to be parents over all children. Like this nono creep who wants children to be really stupid so they'll buy into his religion of genocide.
