Noa Nadruku, one of several great centres who played for Fiji in the professional era which also include Seru Rabeni, Vili (Stretcher) Satala and current Fiji captain Semi Radradra.

Noa was an absolute nightmare for the opposition team. The manner in which he repeatedly took on defenders along the sideline was just beautiful to watch. Something that you rarely see in today's game of rugby even. A superstar of the 90's and one of the finest players that has ever graced the Rugby league field. Thank you Mr Nadruku for all the wonderful memories.

Noa was definitely the best rover Fiji has ever had, he set the benchmark for a rover's play. He was a master defender in the roving position and no one has come close to reading the defensive pattern like him. During his time in Fiji, he was the best but there was one player he could never break in the local rugby scene. His name is Vula Dakuitoga. Whether 7s or 15s, Vula had the measure of Noa in every single game they come across. Every time the name of Noa Nadruku pops up in grog seasons, some very observant rugby supporters always keep mentioning that he can't get through Vula Dakuitoga so one day I decided to go and watch a 7s tournament at the National Stadium in Suva as Vula's team (Nadera) was in the same pool as Noa's team (Hyatt). They both played the same position and sometime during the game, Noa got the ball and while he tried to run or dodge Vula, Vula gave him one tackle that took him out of the game. In that game, Noa couldn't break the Nadera defense because Vula tracked him like an eagle all over the field. In 15s it was the same, they both play 2nd 5/8, Vula for Rewa, Noa for Nadroga, same result. As fate must have its way, both players then moved to rugby league at the same time and formed Fiji's first ever rugby league team. The rest is history.

@@esthernakavulevu4872 that's a good question. From my perspective, I believe it was attitude. Noa was a more disciplined player than Vula.
