Really enjoy your videos. I use water bowls for my rabbits, I’ve had the bottles fail and nearly lost my buck to dehydration. My Doe Aloe usually has around 12-14 kits, so I use a large water bowl. Although kits may dip in occasionally, I’ve never lost one to cold. 🐰💜

Just a suggestion why not foster Darlene’s 2 kits to Lucky; Lucky wouldn’t be too stressed raising 2 extra kits!! Considering the fact that she’s a better mom ..!

I have a doe who had 6. She dragged 2 over time, out onto the wire and they died. She proceeded to eat them.. ugh. Then 2 more of them got bloat and died, so she's down to 2. They are 4 weeks old and about the size of your 2 week old's.

Oh wow! That's terrible. I just went out this morning and darling lost another kit. So now she only has 1. Some does are just awful mothers. It's a shame when we hold back a doe and raise it just to find out she's not going to work out 🫣

@@rabbitathomestead Yeah. This is my favorite doe. She is my only 'broken' and I just love her coloring. She's also the friendliest. Hangs her head out the cage door for pets, rather than jumping into breakfast. She has had 3 successful litters previously. I'm blaming my nest boxes, not having a high enough lip due to them EATING the wood out.

should you give the remaining kit to another doe and call it quits on Darling?
